It certainly is!

no

I've had a lot of fun reading the comics... Doing what everyone says and skipping from 100-150 isn't a bad idea (the writing and art take a divebomb in quality), but for the most part, if you're a casual/moderate fan of the games, you're going to enjoy them.

It starts off very comedic at first (think of a Sunday comic strip), but by issue ~25, it begins to become more and more serialized, and it becomes a joy to read.

No. It's just a Furry Soap Opera with elements from the games.

>All that in one bubble.

Why would anyone do this nowadays? What retard wouldn't break it up over multiple bubbles and panels?

>Oversized Bubbles
Pfft that's nothing. The amount of oversized bubbles I'm coming across in Grayson is pissing me off.

It's fucking three sentences you absolute sperglord. Is your ADHD really that bad?

The latest SU arc was god tier

Only if you really like modern Sonic games. Otherwise, don't bother.

I stuck around for a storytime of the whole run a couple years back out of curiosity. The early era is blatant furry fanfiction, and more recently it's a boring adventure serial where nothing of value happens anymore plot-wise.

I suppose Sonicfags are already willing to stoop to low levels in order to entertain themselves so I guess it's sufficient for the purpose.

>that dialogue
Jesus Christ, who reads this shit?

That was taken from the issues everyone says you should skip.

But that was from Ian's run. It was an still from one of the many old plot points that Ian had to iron out or buy the hatchet so that the characters could turn back to a more usable state.

Actually that's still in Ian's run.

I'm perfectly fine with that, when it isn't as bad as Penders time.

Bendis?

Depends. Are you big into Sonic, or at least the idea of it? If so, yes. If not... maybe? It's good, but it can drag.
Alternatively, just read Sonic Universe.

>everything shitty about Ian's run is because he had to fix something from before

sick of this meme

I do miss Ian not having his forum honestly, it was fun seeing who he'd throw under the bus every time people had problems with something.

During Worlds Unite that's pretty much the only things he'd post come to think of it.

nice jump to conclusions there, user.

I didn't like that arc myself, not just because it was a leftover plot point that I didn't care for, but also because Ian didn't know how to give it enough time to develop. The Prowers just set their plan in motion without any proper build up. Tails's falling out with Sonic had a little bit of it from Tails being a bit mad at him during the Eggman Empire arc, but it wasn't enought for it to really feel organic.

Wait it's been finished?

Nothing by Ken Penders, otherwise it's ok.

Sure if you like the Sonic franchise. A guide is highly preferable since the quality varies.

fuck pendering

>implying that's a bad thing

The moment Ian wanted to Kill Antoine made me hate him as a writer so much, that and he hating Bunnie for no reason.

>he hating Bunnie for no reason.
At what points did he do that?

...

>that and he hating Bunnie for no reason
I keep hearing this being said, but where did you come to that conclusion user.

bumbleking.com/lht/Lost Hedgehog Tales - Part 1.pdf

Where is "he hating Bunnie for no reason" reflected anywhere in there?

How am I jumping to conclusions? It's the excuse that you anons always come up with, every single time someone points out something that's blatantly ridiculous.

You just love hyperboles, don't you?

Whatever you say user.

You seem a little too hung up on this.

You sonicfaggots are something else. Enjoy your summer.

I am both surprised and not at all surprised how much Archie Sonic threads of all things got filled with blatant shitposting.

You what?
His absolute best is when he was fixing shit. Personally, I think he's at his weakest when he's working from "scratch".

Is Amy a cutey in the Archie comic?

Post some cute Amy

She's the cutest

Not for an emotional moment, you wouldn't.

Can't forget this page

The new continuity in the book is so good. Hit a bit of a speedbump with Worlds Unite, but I've still loved it since the reboot.

I'm the opposite. I haven't really found myself drawn into this new continuity like I was with the old one. I guess it's probably because I'm still sour over Penders and his autism. I did enjoy the most recent Eggman's Dozen arc, and as a whole the comic seems to be in a much better place than before, what with less baggage from older eras.

I think Penders was more imaginative with his worldbulding concepts, but Ian is much better at actually writing stories. I see Penders as an analogue to George Lucas being a visionary who really needed a good editor cleaning up his work.

There was a reboot? At what issue? I stopped reading around 200 or so.

>The moment Ian wanted to Kill Antoine made me hate him as a writer so much

What did he mean by this?

nu252, right after the Mega Man and Sonic crossover Worlds Collide.

How much does it reset? What changes?

He wasn't imaginative, he lifted a lot of his plot and writing wholesale from stuff way more popular. His ONE saving grace is introducing characters that, in the right hands, would be very interesting to read more about. Unfortunately, Penders never really had the talent to write a compelling storyline with anything he introduced.

Most everything, except for much of the main cast. The plot gets changed into an Unleashed adaptation, and a lot of the villains and side characters are either given new backstories and motivations or are new characters entirely.

That's kind of lame. Is it at least good? I mean as flawed as the series was I'DE grown a little attached to a lot of the characters.

Yes, it's about as good as it was before. There's some stumbling blocks with poor editorial choices, but the writing's about the same and the art actually gets even better.

Didn't the Boxer Hockey guy hop on it? Or is that one of the other series?

He's on it, yes.
