>Humphries did two okay issues of GLs

what was good today because I read literally nothing?

mmm, cardamom is delicious

Green Arrow as good again

Yeah, the buzz I saw about it was cautiously positive? with the exception of someone eye-rolling about the cheap Guy joke

...

all I read today was Titans Rebirth and it was ok

>mmm, cardamom is delicious
that it is

>shantae was at e3, fukken finally
>k6bd has a trade release date

Looks like percy improved his pace. Lol

Batman was good imo though I can't tell how serious some of the pissed off people were in the thread

Green Arrow >>> Batman = Superman > Green Lanterns > Titans

Titans was okay but jesus Booth is gonna be the worst part of the thing.

Titans was okay. Batman was pretty neat and I have no idea why so many people disliked it. Superman was surprisingly good. Didn't read Green Arrow.

The days getting longer is messing with my head. Thought we were having a storytime at like, 2PM or something.

Fuck yeah love Blackest Night

BURBANK, CA – DC’s REBIRTH line-wide relaunch continues to be a huge hit with fans, as more issues from the June title lineup head into their second printings. In addition to TITANS: REBIRTH #1, written by Dan Abnett with art by Brett Booth, Norm Rapmund and Andrew Dalhouse, the following new issue #1’s will also be going back to print: SUPERMAN #1 (Peter J. Tomasi, Pat Gleason, Mick Gray, John Kalisz), BATMAN #1 (Tom King, David Finch, Matt Banning, Jordie Bellaire), GREEN LANTERNS #1 (Sam Humphries, Robson Rocha, Jay Leisten, Blond) and GREEN ARROW #1 (Benjamin Percy, Otto Schmidt).

Spinning out of Geoff Johns’ DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1, these titles continue this new universe of storytelling featuring the most iconic characters in comics and the best writers and artists in the business. More titles are scheduled to debut now through October, with many of them appearing on shelves twice monthly, so fans will continue to get more of the excitement and action that’s made DC a fan-favorite for more than 80 years.

Each second printing will feature the comic’s original cover art but will replace the blue curtain image with recolored REBIRTH banners at the top. These issues will arrive in comic retail stores July 13 at the original $2.99 cover price.

Congrats DC

I think GL fans have been stockholm syndrome'd into thinking that "ok" is a good baseline

that's muh Ollie, dang

People said Percy's picked up the pace considerably, too? That sounds good, I'll have to go back and read the issues out so far

>>k6bd has a trade release date
ooooh, I need to find where I left off on that in a tab closed a few days ago

Booth's art is the one thing keeping me from putting it on my pull-list.

What a shame.

To me Batman was fine but I needed King to go above and beyond and convince me to keep reading and that didn't happen. Like I wasn't interested before and nothing in it made me want to keep reading that badly.

>Marvel and ABC News are partnering for a live-stream event to discuss "Civil War II" #2 and the issue's ramifications, with Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso, writer David Walker ("Power Man & Iron Fist") and FiveThirtyEight's Walter Hickey.

>As revealed on Marvel's official Twitter, the event is set for Thursday, June 16th at 3pm ET, and will stream stream live on ABC News from the network's headquarters in New York City.

>The event marks the second episode in the series, after last week's first installment with "Civil War II" scribe Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel CCO Joe Quesada and Tech Insider's Kirsten Acuna.

I'm more surprised that they had a first episode. Did anyone on Sup Forums care enough to watch?

Yeah it was actually pretty good.

Simon gained a new "power" in form of some kind of vision called emerald sight so I'm guessing that's how he's gonna be different from Hal, John, Kyle, and Guy. Hopefully it won't get too OP and has some downsides to it.

Okay is better than actively shit

I liked that he started out with Batman trivializing something that is traditionally a Superman mainstay (rescuing a crashing airplane).

Well, I guess "trivializing" is the wrong word since he was about ready to commit suicide to see it through.

I'm reading through CWII now and boy is it awful

Same. I almost did it too since it was only a monthly, but I couldn't go that far.

the heat index today was like 107 or some total fucking bullshit so I've been sluggish and now I'm all achy

true but it doesn't really feel much different than the middling dullness that has been the majority of the GL line for years to me

Batman was fucking amazing. There's a page that's like near porn to me a 3x3 AND a DKR reference! King's a madman. Plus I enjoyed the gimmick of his first Batman story being the traditional Superman disaster.

also learned that all "WHO IS _______" Mysteries of DC Rebirth I'm gonna answer with Legionnaires. (Gotham Boy and Girl = Thom and Dreamy(think about it, King said this arc is about optimistic dummies trying to fix Gotham and getting in over their head)) and cannot get over how good Finch is. Miracle work by the colorist and inker.

Titans was ok, very standard "Here is everyone, their deals, and big bad coming" There was a great page of the panels getting more and more tilted near the end as Wally talked about missing Linda.

Green Lanterns really surprised me, they both have strong voices, the bad guys are kinda sympathetic, and I like the tongue in cheek tone it dances with. (The next issue teaser was Maul Cops) That it's not as cosmic also reminds me of 80s DC like this and Captain Atom which is a ++++.

civil war 2 wasn't a garbage fire so i liked it, tony gone batshit crazy tho.

haven't read much else bc headache is plaguing me

>Kobra mention in Batman

Kek

What time Wonder Woman headline more than 4 books even if some of them are not great.

Ok is basically the bare minimum of what you want for a book that has a decent premise. And it's been too long since we just got normal GL stories like this. Reminded me of the Gibbon GLC run where it's just newbies getting their shit together.

If Humphries doesn't botch this and maintains the current quality level, it'll be something people can actually rec for Jessica and Baz. It's got a significant amount of alien shit in it already, despite being on Earth, and both leads have supporting cast to talk to.

Like, it's 6/10, but I'll take it.

that's fair, I've been off GL for a while myself

>haven't read much else bc headache is plaguing me

You have my sympathy. Headaches and migraines are a motherfucker.

>Gotham Boy and Girl = Thom and Dreamy
I might die from happiness if that were the case

Like, over the top happiness

if you want to listen along with me tonight, I'm on:

youtube.com/watch?v=-SaftPrYcUI

that's fair I guess. To be honest I think I'm having trouble getting interested in GLs at all when I know HJ&GLC is going to be more of the same fucking shit from Venditti and I know the GL books CAN be better so it's frustrating when "eh, it's alright" is the best they cand o

errr, Oni are Japanese demons, right? I'm sure there are Chinese demons (I know a weeny bit about ghosts), but what do they call them?

>80s DC like this and Captain Atom
get Greg Weisman to fix Nate

limit the keikaku, though, he's got 8 issues

Both Japan and Chinese traditions have a fuck ton of evil spirits with different names and ways to curse, kill or otherwise annoy you.

But yes, Oni are Japanese.

Oni are indeed Japanese. Bad Osty.

...

I get what you mean there since I'm basically at that point with Superman right now. Probably helps that I haven't seriously followed a lantern book since Blackest Night (I did read the last arc of Sinestro though).

looks like all those predictions about CWII are on track

It's wild but I don't think it's THAT wild. They knew where to be when the plane landed and dude got it single handedly. i looked for rings on hands but didn't see any on the guy, tho they have gloves and rings have an invisibility feature. he could also be Mon-El, Ultra Boy, or Cos.

plus i can't remember if King's batman got any pages in Rebirth 1 and we still don't know what's up with Saturn Girl.

how bad was CW2 and what happened and did I see a negative review out there on a major comics site?

I can't wait for Carol's side to barge into the room and murder him while Carol tries to talk to him, and Tony inevitably gets painted as right because of this and he starts bitching about them trying to do something with Hulk.

There was a page with Gotham and Gotham Girl in Rebirth but I can't remember where it was in the sequencing. Not sure if they'd have that AND the Imra scene as Legion hints though.

oh, this asshole

>That last panel

Pffft.

>how bad was CW2
Pretty bad!

>and what happened
Tony breaks into Inhumans Castle or wherever the fuck they live, kidnaps Ulysses, tries to interrogate him a little, trades some quips with Carol, Ulysses has a vision that the Hulk's going to murder them all and Clint is going to get accidentally get kill

>and did I see a negative review out there on a major comics site?
Yes! Newsarama gave it a 3 comicbookroundup.com/comic-books/reviews/marvel-comics/civil-war-ii/2

Even comicvine where they lowest they ever give anything is a 4/5 gave it a shitty review

>People said Percy's picked up the pace considerably, too?
It's a little too early to tell but yeah, the oneshot and #1 were better paced than some of the other issues he's done.

oh yeah they were just like Batman posing over the city weren't they? still not a definitive no!

dat Floyd

goddammit, Clint *again*

It's pretty clear that someone likes Percy, as he's stuck around and gotten more work. Compared to Wilson, frex.

>tfw CW2 is already one lazy page away from bingo after three issues

And now they're going to have a stream via ABC where they talk about it and its consequences BRAVO MARVEL

...

twitter.com/andykhouri/status/743132032964788224

Too bad Rhodey is dead, they could have him accidentally fire a Thanos buster missile at Bruce's tits

in the vision everyone was dead, not just clint.

i still don't hate civil war yet but i'm not saying it's good.

she hulk's forever coma is pretty funny though

>King's twitter followers have doubled after the announcement that he's on Batman
>he may not be able to reply as easily to people as he once did
>tfw

Thanks Batman
;_;

...

Is that how it works? When Rhodey dies, all the Thanos-killer missiles turn into jelly?

Is Rhodey a wizard?

>Ulysses was told by tony that he might be sexist against ungendered energy beings and Thanos so you can cross that off.

are you fucking kidding me?

I'm hoping Clint has an anti-Hulk arrow and causes half the building to explode and an unpowered Bruce dies with it

>in the vision everyone was dead, not just clint.
he was on the ground impaled through the chest though, everybody else was slightly less mutilated

add that the the rumors of Kate Bishop getting a solo book and Clint is probably getting rekt

Even Johns still replies to people, have faith

Rekt in prison again.

This is all Fraction's fault.

Obviously it was part of his secret stash and he never told anyone else where they were located!

oh I think Clint's dead, it's just that the vision was more "We're all fucked!" like Hulk had Tony and Carol crushed in his hands.

that fact that it's a damn Hulk problem again is the worst, if he doesn't die good odds he's getting shot into space again

tfw i don't remember that

maybe i'm nice towards civil war cause my brain auto blocks out a lot of it

Then I assume everyone will hate Clint for killing unarmed civilians or something to that effect

Having a critically acclaimed great selling book for a character that doesn't always have a solo does have its set backs.

I'm waiting to see if Vision gets a book after King's is cancelled, because people probably won't like that one.

>Clint if you had let Hulk destroy that building his super math would've insured no one died!!

in my dreams Robinson or someone gets a Wanda and Vision book around March

(sorry, trying to do two things at once)

I love these close up shots.

>white het cis couple
ughhhhh could you just.... not???

>Olicity fans on twitter getting mad at this

So amazing.

As long as Otto's drawing, she has a penis. Bigot.

Remind me, is Nemesis still alive?

...

I haven't read my comics yet, I'm mostly paying attention to E3 just to see if Nintendo is actually going to show something about their new apps.

Of course not. That would be absurd.

...

...

yeah, he told Waller to fuck herself and left

behold~

yesssssss

...ok when i first saw this tweet i thought it was pro the ship

What if the monkey's paw strikes again and Clint doesn't die but does end up in Thunderbolts?

...

he'll be badly drawn and back in limbo in a year so....

I don't follow Arrow, but isn't it kinda ironic to complain about the relationship being like that, since it's exactly how things with Felicity are?

It's like they didn't watch any of the seasons of Arrow where Ollie banged a woman same-day.

The good seasons.

X-Men Limbo or Morrison Limbo?

I like how they're pretending it's sexist in order to claim moral high ground with the show (a show that, of course, has killed off every major female character once her usefulness to Ollie had passed). Grayson all over again really.

Thighs

Morrison.

you know i thought making the x-men leave for space is a stupid idea but then hiding in a literal hell is worse.

is that Shado? dang

WHERE ARE THE DICKS
