DELETE THIS

No?

Is there a comic hosting website I can post my comic to? I wanted to do Tumblr but the layout is shit. Is there one where people can upload something in the format of like a manga hosting website?

heyyy those aren't the proper cleese words.. hehe
youtube.com/watch?v=PQ0lck7oo4A

Hello?

Posted mine just before the last thread died. Still seeking guest pages.

I was just about to post that.

I have re-watched that video and it's still an eye-opener.

Always carry satchel meat

ha, bacons! not what i'd expect. but cloudy-tail backwards-scale dinos are fond of it.

they are rather fond of it

Dewd?

After an obligated break, I'm back at my fancomic. Is it alright to spend almost two days in just drawing a page, even when you're an amateur with modest drawing skills and don't want to do detailed stuff? or am I just slow as a turtle?

it's over for you

You... You think so?

Damn...

>check on E3
>there's a game with a character similar enough to one I already designed as the main character

Ya snooze ya lose, I guess

Sounds like you were...feeling a feel.

Yeah, in the same way that I am right now breathing a breath and posting a post

Unless this is some new weird lingo that you god damn kids use these days

>tfw there are people in /hyw/ who don't recognize your feely way of life

kill yourself

i honestly thought and hoped that meme was dead

Also, any good references or tips for keeping characters hunched over, and still making them look appealing and coherent? Like the same type of back-hunching that a cat does when sitting.

hey, it may have been on e3, but your comic will be out before that game comes out i guarantee. go ahead
actually you've hit it on the head. if you want hunched-overness to look graceful and elegant instead of grotesque, you have only to look at animals. (er, not apes though)
practice drawing nice parabolic arcs

true memes never die

What have you seen, Dewd?

Bampin with a lil cover I quickly made up for Halloway
I'm not very good at design so I'll leave the fully fleshed out cover to my future self and the person he has paid to do the job for him
Back to work

love me a hair tuft

went back to make a cover so it would have a more official looking start, i got art block while making my previous pages but i think ive shifted it so i hope i can actually make new pages and not keep flaking

hate when that happens. i'm just glad you didnt quit!
this is a very appropriate cover, it kinda says it all

What kind of monster couldn't love hair tufts? They're so cute

thanks man it was hard to think of what to do but i wanted to give it a ordered chaos kind of look with the clutter

finished inking, and putting text on a page
still trying to keep the style consitant

bump, saving this thread

with no survivors!

Does working while tired affect your writing?

I somehow write slightly better actually
I don't even know why, I think it's because I'm thinking less so it all just comes out naturally

You shouldn't work tired. Its always better to get a fresh start the next day or after a break.

When I'm tired I can't see the slow decline of quality in my work forcing me to redo the pages the next day while I'm awake.

i work while listening to the twin peaks soundtrack
I'm always tired

>tfw the initial passion you had for your comic is gone

Yes.
It makes you dumb and bad at spotting mistakes.
Of course, sometimes that can be a good thing, like when you're just beelining through a first draft to get to the end.
I find that my sketches get really free and loose and crazy inspired when I'm tired, too.
But never do anything that needs to be polished and presentable. Only do that when you're properly awake, ideally early in the day.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. Tough it out.

How many panels? Did you take two days to draw two faces? See how much you can do in an hour.

some more updates from my day..
how are the bubbles?

and a concept character

>Is it alright to spend almost two days in just drawing a page
I'm 9 hours (spanned over 3 days) into drawing my current page and it's barely over half done. Two days per page is a good pace.

Why do you think so many people recommend testing out the waters with short comics first?

The first panel looks kinda squished like a video displayind a slightly off aspect ratio...

Looking good

It's not done it, there is a third panel on the page but just a box atm

New page today! What do you guys think?

bump

MY BROTHER WORKS FOR FREE

Jackie's face is so wonky here.

>Oh, your mom mentioned it

Where does she keep her costume, anyway? Is it her superpower that she can hide it under her office outfit?

Jan typically stashes her costume in her purse.

random doodle.

I want to show to you guys.

Saggy tits but I'd still fuck it

Oh okay. We haven't seen her with a purse this chapter, so I honestly wasn't sure if she had one with her. Might have been a good idea to have a little inset of her picking it up before leaving the the car on pg 15, but eh, that's hindsight for you.

what hardware and software do you need to make a webcomic?

Manga Studio and 8gb of ram.

Photoshop or clip studio paint, a reliable tablet, and an adequate amount of ram

A scanner, and image editing software.

A camera, and the ability to take photos that are well lit, the right way round, suitable framed, and of a reasonable resolution. Plus image editing software.

>Good amount of RAM
Wait what
I've been working off 3 gigs for like 4 years. Where the hell do all your guys' RAM go?

Once you get above a certain number of layers you really do need lots of memory for things to not start crawling.

High resolutions
Lots of layers
Multiple windows/views of the thing you're working on
And you really don't want it to lag.

luckyhazard.the-comic.org/

two page update, starting off the next Part and the next Chapter!

Aww Janice'a worst enemy is herself.

I'mma be the best comic artist EVAH!

I'll be the next Bum Tickley!

seriously though i think i may need a drawing tablet...

Epilouge time!

Here's the WIP.

I almost forgot about this epilouge actually.

bubbles that loose and thickly-lined always look like real in-universe objects
i reckon that's because the wheels are so tiny

that old chestnut, eh? i love it
reminds me of this old book i had.. something like 'new at the zoo' or something, with a bunch of cute weirdly-drawn zoo animals (reminded me of quintel a bit) meeting a new baby something-or-other (looked like this. some kind of dog but with a black mane)
i wish i could remember it or find anything about it online. all i remember is the characters all had biblical jewish names like samuel and benjamin

it's true. this is why i'm happy lately i barely ever need to use layers. my computer's having trouble running anything anymore.
i assume 'tha' is intentional
actually* just a wig
hot-ass should be hyphenated
have* thought up
original*
thought of it or thought it up, not thought up of it
unoriginal*
failure*
observe them fighting*
what their* weaknesses are*

and for the record, epilogue* just something to write down in your notes

>Lots of layers
So what you're saying is

webcomics are like onions

Those faces take me 2 houra and a bit. It tock me 2 days to draw and ink a page with four whole panels. I cannot draw more fast, and I cannot draw for more than 5 hours a day because bad eyesight. I guess I'll never a pro who can work professionally, not even if I finally achieve good skills. I was wondering if I am awfully slow or just very slow.

Oh, ok. So it's not that bad as I though. Thank god, I was starting to feel a bit depressed at my pace.
>Tock
Took. I need to spellcheck my posts.

You said you would use spellcheck.

>I cannot draw more fast
Unless you have some sort of problem moving your arm, that's not true. The time you spent actually drawing the lines on the paper was a tiny fraction of the time you spent looking at the page unsure of what you should do, and that WILL improve with practice, no matter how bad your eyes are.

Time per page depends a lot on how much coloring and other polish you put in it, so its not always useful to compare with other artists - for a pair of relatively simple line art faces, two hours really is a long time. Don't feel depressed though, it's mostly just a matter of practice.

Is English even Dewd's first language?

Generally, I don't even bother looking at his pages, but I looked at this one out of curiosity, and like, half the dialogue is unintelligible.

he did like 10 pages in a row with, collectively, maybe 8 mistakes.
if you leap on every backslide you encourage people to stop trying

>implying Dewd is trying in the first place

That's a lot of mistakes for 10 pages.

And this new page has what barely even sounds like actual human dialogue.

This page is actually a bit 3D because of the gouache (not that you can really see it in the scan, but still).

vigormortis.co.uk/

I'll take your word then.I'll also try to not feel depressed.

>that feel when you discover your comic is making you more money than your enemy's comics is making for them

He says he's from the US and he has an American-sounding name.
Maybe he's just dyslexic or whatever.

Not dyslexic, just an idiot.

he's mentioned a learning disorder before
where i come from you try to be a bit sensitive about these things and not dwell on it, it's supposed to give you an excuse. as long as you're working on compensating for it.

Well, everyone's different, but I saw huge improvements in my speed when I started my comic. Like, time reduced by half despite my later pages being much more detailed.

I think it's a bullshit learning disorder, like the one I was "diagnosed" with when I was in high school. I just lacked motivation and drive but they tried to tell me it was a disorder and not my fault, which was complete bullshit. They just wanted my family to pay for expensive psychiatry and/or medicine.

that does happen a lot
in any case he's clearly working on it since typos have gone down significantly (until this one). he just appears to have trouble locking the correct spellings in permanently. considering the way typing is stored in the spine it wouldn't surprise me.

Well, I've been drawing since I was a child, but this is my first time doing a comic, to be honest. Let's see how much fast I can become.

Thanks a lot for the support, user.

And because of that one experience you're now an expert on the subject and know that every single person who was diagnosed with a learning disorder is just as lazy as you were?

I'd been drawing semi-seriously for nearly 12 years when I started mine. Comics really are a different beast.

You could also try practicing speed if you're really worried about it, but the other user is right, it usually comes with experience anyway.

Is this dewd? I am so baffled and disgusted at this dick sucking. Just fuck off to reddit if you're so desperate for hand holding

Please attempt to draw more on model. I know you're going for a Spumco/John K look, but they still remained on model enough for the character to still be read as that character (i.e. a squashed and stretched Stimpy still reads as being Stimpy.) Neptunia does not look like the same character when viewed from the side - I can't tell if it's a problem with the models themselves or an inability to draw on model, but it's worth examining so your comic will be easier for readers to follow.

All right then. I won over think about it and I'll just work on my comic.

You're really supportive. I would hug you right now, or either treat you to a coffee or a beer. Or biscuits. Why is captcha so obsessed with them? It's the third time in a row.

95% sure it's coldfusion, actually.

I going to redraw this page and see it going to make more sense and easier to read.

The funny thing is that I thought I rip off from homestuck or something. But, no...There is no girl that look like that.

I try to look for a character that look like her.

Draw porn
Draw porn
Draw porn.

Do it slave.

in this case I think it's more a problem with costume changes. if he hadn't identified it as neptunia I wouldn't have recognized her either
he is actually getting a lot better at staying on model (despite those scale issues that i genuinely can't tell if they're intentional or excuses) but when people keep having major changes to their models, losing limbs, changing hairstyles and outfits.. it's not enough.

>hmm, Popeyes
Not sure what you're going for - is it a reference to the restaurant chain?

>are you going to see it?
Not entirely sure of the context. What's "it"?

>No, I going to watch you fall and fail.
Should be "I AM going to watch you fall and fail."

>"Still doubting?"
Technically nothing's wrong with this, but I think it would sound more natural if it were "still doubtful?" or "Still doubting me?"

>"in few minutes, you will be amaze"
Should be "in A few minutes, you will be amazeD"

i think it's a pun. because it's literally an eye

>both tripfags with horribly drawn comics that look like something you mock on DA
Welp that makes a lot of sense now. Especially as to why he defends this shit so hard. It's a bit noble, like watching one school retard try to stand up for another.
