I used to love this shit as a kid. Apparently most chuck e cheese locations have been phasing out most characters other than chuck e though. Dissapointing.

Maybe five nights at freddys will show the ceos that there is still an interest in this kind of stuff

What a disappointing thread. I figured Sup Forums would have a bigger interest in this

...

People used to talk about this kinda stuff pretty frequently on /vg/'s /5N@F/ thread.
Apparently they don't even do animatronics anymore. Now it's just big screens on the walls that play animated videos of the characters every few minutes.
There used to be a guy that worked at one of these places that would tell stories from is time servicing various performers.
Pic related was based on one of them.

Probably the opposite effect though, like what happened to clowns.

Bwahaha post more

Will there be a FNAF cartoon?

>That rock a fire explosion documentary with the abandoned warehouse full of abandoned melting animatronics

Sad and terrifying

for you OP

youtu.be/Fd5c3Qtcr_w

I wouldn't count on it.

Now, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Five Nights at Freddys attraction open up at Universal Studios.

CEC started going downhill as soon as they gave him that redesign and changed his voice.

You do NOT change that fucking voice after 20 years.

Go to Disneyland. Just went there with my family. The ride animatronics are amazing. Despite being half a decade old, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, despite being half a century old, was so life-like it made me on the verge of tears.

Probably not. There was an awful book though.
It was awful.
There's been some pretty good fan animations though.

Which time?

Les Paul ain't rocking at all.
He looks like your 50 year old uncle who missed the roll train first time around and is now going through midlife crisis.

Meanwhile at Epcot.

Often I lay awake wondering when if ever we shall see a resurgence in the pure bliss of animatronic or costumed idols. These icons of childhood who led us through temptation, and filled our voids with gushing love. Walt disney was a messiah. We were blind.

No. It's getting a live action movie directed by the guy who made Monster House though

>I wouldn't be surprised to see a Five Nights at Freddys attraction open up at Universal Studios

That would make a damn good haunted house for their annual halloween celebration.

Who owns the film rights to FNaF anyway? Is it Universal?

Warner snatched it up. No word on theme park rights yet.

It is universal. If the film is successful, maybe we WILL see an attraction some day

I think FNAF is great.
The younger generation needed their own Jason or Freddy.

Chuck es >>>>>>>>>>>> Showtime

>Fuck I'm drunk.

Well they do host the Food and Wine Festival in that building now...

Then make new Freddy and Jason movies.

Or better yet make new slasher villains with new slasher movies

You don't need a shitty game give kids nightmares, cause so far fnaf only instilled autism in people.

Fuck all these stupid possession/haunting movies

Well it turns out kids aren't afraid of slasher movies. Its not the 70s any more.

FNAF is this generations friday the 13th. There is really no way around it. You can't just decide what is popular and what isn't

Slasher films are fucking gay.

SHUT YOUR MOUTH, WIMP-CAKE!

Literally impossible. Slasher films without 70s/80s nostalgia are box office poison, these days.

The entire Horror genre is a wasteland of hacks and corporate buffoons who wouldn't know scary if it jumped up through the shower drain and laid its eggs in their stomachs.

I couldn't care less about the slasher genre, and gore porn always seemed so low brow and needlessly cruel.
Much as people hate on the franchise, and the fandom that sprung up around it, FNAF got right what few other horror games or movies do: atmosphere. It mixed peoples natural fear of the uncanny valley with superb art direction and sound design, making something genuinely unnerving to play. Say what you will about the game mechanics or the sequels or all the autism surrounding it, but there was a genuine reason the first game became as popular as it did.
Shit was spooky, and it did a good job of hinting at an explanation for the events of the game while leaving lots of room for the imagination.

>only instilled autism in people.
That's not how autism works.

#2 is the ChuckE I grew up with

i want to blast those things with a mossberg, high on coke and scotch

Which episode was this?

got any more?

Not that user, but I do recall that user mentioning degloving accidents.

Chuck e cheese is better anyway

No one's commissioned Eminem yet, have they

also god damn you're right, this is amazing

FNAF is great in concept. Furries corrupted it though, as they do.

Furries didn't do anything besides draw fanart.

Don't you mean in during?

I thought they only got the movie rights?

> degloving accidents

The fanbase is absolute dogshit but I think FNAF is great in a lot of ways. Animatronics have always had so much untapped potential in the horror genre and FNAF is what really showed there potential.

Animatronics are now being seen as a legit form of monster and a genre of horror because of FNAF which I think is fantastic. I hope to see more scary animatronic related things specially non-FNAF stuff.

Bullshit

it's true. Creature Shop is doing the animatronics.

And yes, it's using REAL animatronics.

5N@F always looked interested but i'm babby to play and the fandom is such a disaster you can't shift for gold

>that rock a fire documentary where the guy who owns them is showing it all to a bunch of 8 year old kids and trying to teach them shit but he has that depressed look on his face when they wont shut the fuck up about five nights at freddys

youtube.com/watch?v=NXRfmeRDAvA

youtube.com/watch?v=Qs7G_uyIK6o

youtube.com/watch?v=Sy-hOobt-es

Are you being serious or just memeing?

Because the only rockafire documentary I know of predates FNAF

We're allowed to talk about puppetry here?

Which do you think was a darker age for puppetry? Right before Jim Henson or right now?

Maybe it wasnt a documentary then, and just some video on youtoobs.

The dude that currently owns the rockafire set, and has helped program those new songs for the robots was showing the whole thing to a bunch of kids, and they kept talking about FNAF. And he looked annoyed as fuck every time the kids called them "exoskeletons."

youtube.com/watch?v=tHUMQIGnwjQ

>reskinned rockafire characters into the Moon Rockers, as one of the many things they did in the 90's

youtube.com/watch?v=5bXxbHiRX4o

Theres a ton of cool as fuck videos on the rockafire channel.

youtube.com/user/therockafire/videos

Holy shit its real

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Nights_at_Freddy's_(series)#Film_adaptation

Honestly? I don't give a shit about FNAF (interesting premise but the game is boring as hell to play, I got to the third night and decided to do something better with my life) but Monster House was fucking rad, and Jim Henson's creature shop is on board, so I will keep an open mind about this.

Now.

Gil Kenan is a fucking hack. This will be godawful.

>This performance is by the miniature Billy Bob animatronic doll, originally built in 1985 and recently modified by Mike Anderson with new servo and computer algorithms to perform Billybob's entire library of work. The modifications Mike made in his Billy Bob animatronic doll will be made available in kit form or upgraded by our factory for you if you have a Billy Bob miniature animatronic doll. So, hang on to those dolls. Their day is coming! And when it does you will be able to download lots of music and stories and skits online to play on your doll. Mike's genius has finally turned my 30 year dream into a reality, and the "Desktop Rock-afire Explosion" is on its way!

>exoskeleton

Isn't it called an endoskeleton in FNaF in the first place? Or was that part of how retarded the kid was being?

Exoskeleton would be the outside of it, right?

Yeah. So if its a framework that goes underneath a skin or chassis or something, it'd probably be called an endoskeleton, or something else.

If the kid was calling it an endoskeleton though, I don't see why that would be particularly distressing outside of the association with the franchise. It seems like a valid word for the thing. Unless it has a better real name for it he was trying to teach the kid and the kid was just ignoring him.

I have seen the video. The other user was exagerating. he was no more than confused when kids were calling it an endoskeleton

Walt Disney has such a comfy voice. It's like hearing your excited grandpa talk about his newest idea.

youtube.com/watch?v=YF0j69pAM7g
Never forget.

That was beautiful.

Why the fuck would 5NAF have a movie, the game is ass.

Between this, not bothering to license the music he used in his shows, and answering important business calls in-character as Billy Bob (and refusing to drop character), I wonder if the guy who made Rockafire Explosion isn't a bit fuzzy in the wuzzy.

That's because they keep upgrading Lincoln every few years

youtube.com/watch?v=hEJwvvQnP2w

Lets all take a minute to ask forgiveness from our parents for dragging them to a glorified arcade with shitty pizza.

animatronics are scare

>Animatronics are the new creepy clown cliche

They just wanted to sing and dance and make people smile...

The lore is good, the animatronics are good, everything else is kind of crap though. IDK, Sister Location looks like it might be a step in the right direction, but I'm not holding my breath

It's apparently good enough to make millions of dollars so who knows.

>I wonder if the guy who made Rockafire Explosion isn't a bit fuzzy in the wuzzy.

Go watch his vidoes on his youtube channel. He is very clearly a bit crazy, but he literally calls himself an inventor and does all sorts of work with electronics and anamatronics and arcade games and stuff. Dudes really smart.

Hes eccentric crazy.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degloving

tl;dr -> It's like taking off a glove when you're not actually wearing one.

I can't find that guy's name in the archives, otherwise I'd just post a link to all his stories.

A "degloving" is an industry code word for when skin has been ripped of due to contact with an animatronic. Feel free to punch that into google if you wanna see some shit.

>A man in front of them is dying
>They all just laugh
>No one is even trying to do CPR on President Lincoln.

He's called The Weaver, or TGWeaver. He's on a bunch of art sites.
Is e621 taboo here? He has some stuff there, including his FNAF comics.

No, I was talking about the guy who posted all those stories.
I know who Weaver is, his stuff is all over the place. And he's been on Sup Forums forever.
If you wanna link his fnaf stuff, I'd just do it from their booru.
5naf.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=weaver&pid=680

Oh, sorry. It seemed like those other Anons wanted to know who made the comic.

We might have Rob Schrab of SCUD working on it in some capacity if we go by his friendship with Kenan.

But yes, Kenan is a hack. I hope he gets fucked out of the movie the way WB did to Seth Graham Smith in favor of someone who actually knows how to direct a horror movie.

He went by the Night Shift, as I recall.

Well fuck me. I'm literally listening to this right now: youtube.com/watch?v=WtMjFLUw33I

Here's a full Pizza Time Theatre balcony show that someone has in their garage. Ignore Harmony's weird jaw and the fact that Jasper barely functions: youtube.com/watch?v=33qszbYvpW8

I always kind of loved how utterly basic and lifeless the original Pizza Time Theatre animatronics looked

They were ugly as fuck, but their weird, erratic movements were always enticing to watch. The showtapes were also pretty good. youtube.com/watch?v=oHzuLDGOKG8

They kind of just looked like those wall mounted trophies that you'd find by a fire place. Not sure if that was intended, but just how I've always interpreted them

They were in portrait frames. The '70s were a weird time.

Have you seen some recent horror movies? They're kinda starved for good material and will settle for just about anything remotely spooky that might earn a few bucks.

Is it weird that the most immediately jarring thing in that image for me was that he's holding a cigar?

Like, I forgot for a second that it used to be acceptable for animal characters targeted at children to smoke and that cigars had a certain unique brand of charm at one time.
