Let's have a good old thread about wartime cartoons.
I'll start with some Popeye

This one is Seein' Red, White 'N' Blue, from 1943

You stupid FUCK YOU HAD ONE JOB.
As a side note, good stuff OP.
Does anyone else remember Cartoon Network airing a series of war cartoons in consecutive order once?
Damn I remember that. Toon something with the letters sitting on hay in the background in a wooden box.
Also
>Bluto and Poeye working together
Didn't expect that honestly.
Now the classic You're a Sap, Mr. Jap from 1942
This is Baby Wants a Bottleship, the last Fleischer Popeye cartoon, from 1942
I was always a big fan of Russian Rhapsody.
Yes, it was called "Toonheads"
Scrap the Japs from 1942
Can't talk about war cartoons without this guy:
youtube.com
Heh, I was going to post that one.
Here's more Private Snafu
youtube.com
This one is Spies, from 1943
I think it's interesting how fast that cartoon came out after pearl harbor and the start of the declared war. Like 3 months. Japan wasn't on a lot of people's radar before pearl harbor.
This video was made in 1941, and is about the draft.
This is Censored, from 1944
The Home Front, 1943
Booby Traps, 1944
Boobs. Neat. Literally couldn't get away with that today, even if it was specifically made for the military without any exposure otherwise.
This one is from Mr. Hook
Tokyo Woes from 1945

I just love when the war bonds save the day, it's so fucking corny.
The Ducktators, 1942
Speaking of ducks and war bonds here's The Spirit of '43
More Disney, youtube.com
Education for Death: The Making of the Nazi, 1943
Another Disney classic, youtube.com
Der Fuehrer's Face, 1943
Blitz Wolf - Tex Avery - 1942
I'd put a youtube link up but the quality on that one is too shitty.
That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed it. I'll post some more tomorrow if this thread is still alive.
Bumping for victory
Good stuff. It's a shame there isn't a good version in Youtube, I blame jews.
There were also lots of cartoons about World War I, for years after it ended.
Here's Mickey Mouse in "The Barnyard Battle":
youtube.com
Mickey mouse was just coming out in Germany for the first time when this was made, and the censors there didn't like seeing evil cats wearing German war helmets. This led to it being the first Disney film to be banned, if only in Germany.
Look Who's Back: the Animated Series looks fun.
Have a classic wartime Looney Tunes short - Plane Daffy. It parodied the infamous Mata Hari who was executed for being a German spy in World War 1.
I could only find a good quality version on DailyMotion
dailymotion.com
>Let's have a good old thread about wartime cartoons.
You mean like Adventure Time or do you mean actual propaganda cartoons?
Actual propaganda, duh.
youtube.com
Fantastic cartoon.
I remember this being showed on Cartoon Network back in the day. Hata Mari gave me strange feelings
Fun fact Mata Hari is a party member in one of the Shadow Hearts games
