Brian Michael Bendis?

Brian Michael Bendis.

The "Brian Michael Bendis" Bendis?

There was a /bmb/ thread last October with the newest GotG storytimes.

I've never read any of his comics, is his dialogue really that repetitive?

Serious question but I know exactly what kind of answer I'm gonna get

Thats a bad depiction, he is fatter

Repetitive dialogue?

BRIAN IS A GOD

More like natural.
Sometimes that results in sentence fragments that don't add anything, just like in real life.

No, nobody talks like this in real life.

Marvel Johns?

I think Hickman is marvel's johns

Yes they do, you need to pay more attention when verbally communicating. People tend to forget the parts that don't matter but real conversations are messy.

>t. an autismo who doesn't verbally communicate

What Bendis comics are good that I should read? I assume there must be some because the dude gets a lot of work and also because anything Sup Forums makes endless threads for must be at least memorable.

Okay so Powers. Anything else?

To a point, but also writing natural dialogue in a comic where yoy have limited space leads to that space being crowded out by word bubbles.

And Bendis has a tendency to exaggerate it to a ridiculous degree.

Does anyone has Bendis-drops-ball.jpeg?

Yes, the dialogue repeats itself on the narrative.

>What Bendis comics are good that I should read?
Ultimate Spider-Man and Daredevil.
Bendis is good when he's writing street level stuff where you can have the characters arguing about relationships over Chinese takeout for an issue and it's not offputting.
For the love of all that's holy, skip his Guardians of the Galaxy or Avengers.

yes they do

hickman is marvel's morrison

What the, why ths smug look and the mic drop

Does this nigga think hes good

jesus, I always thought Sup Forums bendis speak was exaggerated

That's Warren Ellis

I'll check 'em out, thanks!

Nigga thinks he's the savior of comics because he's rolling with Disney's Marvel's Avenger men Pg movie 4kidstv.

Something I've always wondered about Bendis: His comics tend to have tons of copy-pasted panels, and it always seems to show up no matter who the artist is.

So do the artists working with Bendis decide to do that on their own because they can get away with that with Bendis, or do Bendis' scripts have little notes like "By the way make sure you copy-paste this panel 6 or 7 times on this page"?

Fuck you, Bendis.

They probably get confused by the repeating dialogue and assume that the same scene is being shown again.
In all honesty, Bendis probably asks them to do it for comedic purposes.

Don't forget Bendis' Moon Knight. Classic run.

>I was only nine years old
>I loved Bendis so much, I owned all his comics and merchandise
>I pray to Bendis every night, thanking him for the dialogue I have been given
>"Bendis is love", I say, "Bendis is life"
>My dad hears me and calls me a faggot
>He is obviously jealous of my devotion to Bendis
>I respond "I'm a faggot?"
>He says "Yes, you're a faggot"
>I say "But I'm not gay"
>He says "I meant faggot as a generic insult, not to call you gay"
>I repond "It's still pretty homophobic"
>He punches me and sends me to my room
>I am crying now, because I wasn't finished talking
>I go into my bed and it is very cold
>I feel a warmth moving towards me
>I keep feeling a warmth moving towards me for 5 panels
>I feel something touch me
>2 page spread
>It's Bendis
>I am so happy
>He whispers into my ear, "Wanna read my latest comic?"
>"Your latest comic?"
>"Yes"
>"You came to my room to show me your latest comic?"
>"Why else would I come?"
>"I thought you were gonna have your way with me"
>"You're 9 years old, anyone who could possibly think that would be twisted freak"
>"A twisted freak?"
>"Yes"
>"Can I just read the comic?"
>"Go ahead"
>He grabs me with his chubby nerd hands and puts me on my hands and knees
>I'm ready
>I open the comic for Bendis
>He wasted several pages on characters eating and doing nothing
>It hurts so much, but I do it for Bendis
>I can feel my brain tearing as my eyes start to water
>I push against his force
>I want to please Bendis
>He laughs a mighty laugh as he ignores established continuity
>My dad walks in
>Bendis looks him deep in the eyes and says, "It's all over now"
>"Who the fuck are you? I'm calling the cops!"
>"...you were suposed to say "It's over now?""
>"Fuck you, what are you doing with my son?"
>"You're no fun"
>Bendis breaks all the toys in my room and drops his mic
Bendis is love, Bendis is life

So the dialouge just repeats itself?

Daily reminder that the Avengers are the biggest Marvel super heroes because of Bendis.

for more than 2 decades, pretty much, from the Phoenix Saga on, X-Men were the biggest Marvel franchise, Bendis ended that around 2004-2005 with House of M decimating mutants, New Avengers, and making Spiderman and Wolverine Avengers.

You mean like, romance love, love?

Love? What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me no more. My baby is hurting me?

Christ, I thought this was a snarky edit until I read the other replies

So basically the only way they made the avengers succeed was by kneecapping the X-men? Sounds about right.

>So basically the only way they made the avengers succeed was by kneecapping the X-men?
That and they simultaneously added in their two top selling characters to the team.

I'm always boggled at the people who think that it was Bendy's writing that pushed the sales up when there were like three Spiderman ongoing books and Wolverine was on like half of their covers ( he'd literally be on a cover of an issue and then NOT EVEN BE IN THE ISSUE ) because just *that* would boost sales.

>brian michael benis

Civil War: The Confession is a must read.
His Ultimate X-Men run as well as Ultimate Spider-Man.

His Avengers stuff up until Siege. Then you can tell he isn't trying anymore, besides the Revengers arc, which was cut short due to the next guy wanting to use Wonder Man.

Brian Michael Benis?

Because just having those two on the cover wouldn't guarantee the title being a top 10 book for well over a decade. Spider-Man and Wolverine books weren't in the top 10 that consistently. Or having his Mighty Avengers and Dark Avengers also being a top 10 book despite having neither.

Bendis had a lot to do with it's popularity.

That's awfully nice of Skottie Young to draw Bendis that slim.

Lots of people in real life are easily able to complete sentences. Often even several in a row.

Bendis selling power is well proved after his latest battle against Dan Abnett on Guardians of the Galaxy. Bendis book started nice and is still holding on the top Marvel books, Abnett started better than Bendis, but by the second issue, it was already in the crapper, and today is cancelled already.

Mind you, both were using best selling Guardian characters Rocket Raccoon & Groot. Abnett even had the rest of the Guardians on backup stories. Even with that, he couldn't beat Bendis.
