IDW is joining their various Hasbro action licenses into one shared universe. (No, that does not include Jem and horse).
Revolution is a 5-issue miniseries plus 8 more special one-shot Revolution issues of MASK, Micronauts, ROM, G.I. Joe, Till All Are One, Action Man, The Transformers, and More than Meets the Eye.
Is this a good idea? Is anyone going to read the whole thing?
>Is this a good idea? Is anyone going to read the whole thing? I like some of these properties, so probably.
Andrew Morales
>ROM
Benjamin Morgan
I'll read the mini and ROM. Maaaaybe More Than Meets the Eye.
Otherwise wake me when they get Inhumanoids.
Noah Hall
I wonder what the MTMTE tie-in will consist of when it's nowhere near the center of the action for this event.
Xavier Sullivan
Whirl, Rewind and Tailgate watching footage of the crossover, riffing and mocking it the whole time.
Brandon Cooper
This is a shitty stupid idea and I dread what it will do to the existing transformers stories but nothing we can do now.
Christopher Price
G.I Joe has a brief history with the Transformers and seems like it can work well with it whenever the bots feel the need to return to Earth but as for the others, i'm not sure how well they can work with Transformers.
Michael Carter
ROM and Micronauts are both sci-fi with robots (or at least cyborgs), MASK has vehicles that transform... I think they all fit with Transformers pretty well.
Ethan Edwards
Solicits tomorrow.
Also MASK will start as Revolution tie-in one-shot before getting a proper #1 (like Rebirth) in October.

The Transformers ones aren't Revolution tie-ins. They're Titans Return. Also, it amuses me that the Titans Return covers don't have any characters getting Titans Return toys on them.
Camden Campbell
Is that Livio Ramondelli art? 'cause damn, it looks good for him.
Nolan Brooks
>“We didn’t want this to be what fans have seen from so many others, which is a reboot or a relaunch where you’re asked to forget about all these characters and stories you’ve been following for years,” Ryall says. “It’s just now everybody will be acknowledging each other in a much greater way than ever before.”
>"I don’t want G.I. Joe or Transformers fans to feel like they have to buy every issue of everything we publish now just to get the whole story. If they do, certainly that’s a nice outcome, but I still want them to read a Transformers book and have it feel like a Transformers book."

Is there a reading orders to jump into idw ? What must be read and what is currently going ?
James Murphy
Do we have a release date for the first issue of Titans return?
Jose Diaz
Action Man, ROM and Micronauts have only just started. MASK isn't out yet. IDW GI Joe sucked, and I hate that they're bringing it into this universe rather than rebooting it. Transformers is... complicated. Basically, there's two ongoing series (More Than Meets The Eye and Robots In Disguise/"Transformers"). And a third (Till All Are One) just starting, but who knows how long that'll last. Basic required reading is MTMTE and exRID (I'd read them in alternating TPB order) and the two Windblade series (the second's kind of shit, but sets up some of the exRID stuff), and probably TAAO as well. Last Stand of the Wreckers and Sins of the Wreckers aren't required, but they're heavily recommended. Oh, fuck, I forgot: START WITH THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME. It's a jumping on point that explains the status quo. And never, ever read Drift: Empire of Stone. You'll be better off for it.
Ryan Gonzalez
>Do we have a release date for the first issue of Titans return? MTMTE #56 in mid-August.
Meanwhile here are the covers for the September REVOLUTION one-shots.

>No, that does not include Jem and horse a good choice horses is just starting to get good again and throwing it into this is to risky right now
not sure why they chose not to include jem though
maybe they could have a seperate shared universe for there more female marketed titles
Luis Rodriguez
>implying Titans Return may have some effect on the Revolution storyline Or is the REVOLUTION BANNER just marketing bullshit for that month?
Kayden Butler
Are you ready Sup Forums?
Solicits in many hours from now
Gavin Reyes
oh and also >Is this a good idea oh good lord fuck no
Colton Morgan
>Other covers >REVOLUTION starts here >Transformers covers >REVOLUTION is coming Apparently they're going to allude to Jem existing in the Hasbroverse, but aren't going to make it explicit in the Jem titles. tl;dr Jem is canon to the Hasbroverse, the Hasbroverse isn't canon to Jem. Which is probably for the best, because talk about tonal mismatch.
Juan Fisher
>Transformers >G.I. Joe >ROM >Micronauts
License property that Marvel used to have
Nathan Lopez
What the fuck is that robot thing in the background?
Ryder Moore
So in other words, IDW: Civil War?
Logan James
>TFW when I collected action man as a kid >TFW my action man had an overarching and continuous plot >TFW I played too much metal gear solid and as a result my action man was an old worn down grumpy soldier >TFW my action man hated his job but was only action man because it's all he enjoyed in life >TFW my action man became an enemy of the state and went on the run as some sort of underground terrorist (inspired by watching the matrix probably) >TFW I killed my action man when I decided I didn't want to play with toys really anymore. Not even kidding, I did an epic storyline where at the end he sacrificed himself and died a GOOD death.
I was a real edgelord as a kid. I played too much metal gear solid and watched Stallone movies.
Alexander Diaz
The MASK stuff has the kid in me marking out hard.
>tonal mismatch. true i guess the fact that they all had a little of that made me fail to consider how minor that mismatch is compared to what it would be with jem
Ethan Baker
Reminder that the MASK cartoon was dogshit moreso than any of those other toyshilling cartoons from the 80s, that literally the only value was in the toys with the neat gimmicks, and that this isn't worth getting worked up about.

Christopher Carter
>I have no idea what's going to happen, but its different and that makes me afraid.
Evan Edwards
Yeah there's nothing to fear here. These are all properties with similar tones, aesthetics, and content that can be blended seamlessly. They also seem to be keeping Transformers as the "main" story with the rest of the titles orbiting it, which is probably a good idea. Similar to how the early period of the Valiant universe centered on XO-Manowar.
Hudson Gutierrez
>And never, ever read Drift: Empire of Stone. I wish someone had told me this. >MTMTE #56 in mid-August So Titans returns kicks off with MTMTE rather than RiD?
Leo Butler
I'm sorry, user. A-at least the Guido art was good, right?
Henry Sanders
> Prowl in a MTMTE cover
It´s only promotional, right? Right?
Samuel Perez
Why do they do shit like this? I'd rather they have removed Trakker and use the actual black member of the team.
Lincoln Peterson
Ahhh so this is what killed one of the best things on the stands.
A Pox on this and its roots in tying the comics to the films.
Nathaniel Collins
With the claws for hands? That's Biotron from Micronauts.
Jace Carter
m8 Transformers vs G.I. Joe always very clearly had a set ending. The Earth blew up. There was nowhere else to go. And Scioli isn't one to work on things forever.
Liam Perry
Where the heck did you find all of these?
James Bell
Are you new?
Chase Moore
No. I haven't seen these posted on any other sites, and reverse image search isn't turning up anything.
>Where the heck did you find all of these? Deep browsing PREVIEWSworld
Robert Hill
Christ, that must have taken ages to figure out the image URLs and shit.
Aiden Rivera
Actually, the whole thing was - supposedly - suggested by the IDW editors to Hasbro before they new about the Hasbro cinematic universe plans. Hence the incorporation of Transformers. Also, TF vs GI Joe was always a finite story, and Scioli's stated that they're ending it on 13 because they felt that was the best place to end it.
Christopher Lee
>hated his job >all he enjoyed huh?
Hunter Miller
MTMTE 54 is tomorrow right?
Ethan Peterson
Yes.
Samuel Kelly
Read some of these in some order.
Eli Bell
And dropped. Thanks IDW.
Anthony Martin
Black people are cool and hip. I, for one, will be excited to read a cool, hip comic, starring a black people.
William Morris
ROM can get into space I guess also Micronauts aren't earth based from what I recall so they can pop up where they are.
Robert Rodriguez
The One Where They Go Back To Earth Except This Time The Sitcom Was Written By Thundercracker And It's About Multiple Alien Invasions
Jaxson Ramirez
Those characters are all on Earth for this story, though.
William Torres
Yeah this is better, IDW Jem should be in its own universe while Hasbroverse can have their own Jem and the Holograms who ocassionally appears and maybe is alluded to when characters like Jazz make a comment about listening to her.
Hudson Brooks
Still.....after Revolution is done....when MLP joining Hasbroverse?
(INB4 I get shilled for being a "brony-fag"
Christian Mitchell
This idea is so stupid! It'd work fine if it was a standalone set in it's own contiunity but tieing it into the existing books and interupiting their ongoing story is just plain retarted
Ayden Barnes
Like Infestation?
Lincoln Parker
Is it interrupting anything when it's taking place in a separate mini and one-shots?
Ian Hughes
>It’s important to note that many of our titles such as Transformers and Micronauts will take a break from their ongoing stories in the months where they have a tie-in. We don’t want fans to feel overwhelmed by the event or get fatigued from having to buy 30 different titles to get a complete story. In total, including the main event book, it’s 13 comic books over three months. We hope fans sample them all!
Justin White
But the covers that are literally right up there show that Micronauts and ROM's regular issues are coming out the same month as their tie-ins.
Nolan Scott
crossover was a mistake
Robert Cox
I can't explain that!
Juan Martin
None of these issues will come out on time and everyone will be confused and angry.
Samuel Smith
Business as usual then.
Henry Smith
>You'll find out details soon enough, but MTMTE #56 and #57 feature a very special guest star.
Is it Rom the Space Knight? I hope it's R.O.M. the Spaceknight.
Jaxson Russell
ROM's on Earth, not in space.
Nolan Collins
Is there anything preventing ROM the SpaceKnight from traveling in space from time to time?
Xavier Reed
He's focused on killing the Dire Wraiths infesting Earth, and he only just got there.
Also, it's obviously Prowl, user. See
Owen Green
Good lord, TF, I love you, but I do not give a shit about all these big fuckers you keep pulling out. Hasbro finally synergizing with IDW was a mistake.
Xavier Baker
Shit I didn't notice that was MTMTE. I'm sure Prowl will fix everything.
Kevin Murphy
>best boy Prowl on an MTMTE cover Does this mean he's going to personally screw the lost light crew over?
Jordan Cook
No, because this is the adventures of Fort Max and Red Alert now.
Parker Cooper
They're probably all on Cybertron again.
Justin Edwards
Interesting. Sad no Jem rocking out with Soundwave and Blaster though.
Jackson Hughes
>No, because this is the adventures of Fort Max and Red Alert now. >paranoiabot and PTSDbot ever starring in something together It would definitely be interesting, that's for sure. >Sad no Jem rocking out with Soundwave and Blaster though. Do those two have a rivalry in the IDW comics as well because I've yet to see it featured?
Robert Young
Did you miss last month's solicits, user?
>TITANS RETURN! On Luna 1, nothing ever happens — and as far as FORTRESS MAXIMUS and RED ALERT are concerned, nothing ever will. After all, who else could possibly be interested in the Luna 1’s birthing field and its graveyard full of dead Titans?
Brody Parker
Is Prowl going to give birth to a Titan? He is a huge cunt...
Tyler Kelly
MTMTE #54 is out on Kindle somewhere, apparently.
