The Mighty Thor #8 Storytime

Hasn't been storytimed yet, so I might as well

...

...

Fuck off Sup Forumsmblr

Why hasn't Odin gone after Loki if he isn't hiding where he is?

Since when are storytimes "Sup Forumsmblr"?

...

BEHOLD THE COUNCIL OF EVIL CAPITALISTS

I don't see any Chinese, Arab or South American businessmen in the room, so clearly they can be as influential as they claim.

I'd be more concerned about the fact that Agger's new resources should be wrecking havoc on Oil Prices and on the market

Remember when the Red Skull was Roxxon's CEO? Good times.

Did issue 7 have anything effecting the bigger story or was it just a flashback issue?

Feel free to skip it

why the hell is Wilson Fisk there? A group like that seems outside his reach

Yeah, Fisk isn't that rich anymore, he doesn't move around this world, he's a crime boss

>Mini Darren
nice touch. Glad to see him outside Astonishing (though not as pink as prefered)

And yet they still can't figure out that Peter Parker is Spider-Man

That also confirms that Darren will stick around after Astonishing Ant-Man is over, since it all takes place before ANAD (except for the prison stuff)

...

Yeah, about your lawyer...

...

...

>Tell us your secret or else we will give you more cancer.

...

And so the Mighty Minotaur is beaten by technobabble. Really, Dagger is such an asshole that I'm glad to see him get punished for his overconfidence and greed.

What's crazy cat bitch still doing alive? Didn't the x men kill her?

Figures that Jason Aaron would be the only one to follow up on Original Sin

I don't remember. I know Killgore died. Didn't they force her and the rest to go to Xavier School, only for her to escape with Toad or something?

You'd think SHIELD would at least be able to arrest Ezekiel Stane, Terminatrix, Sebastian Shaw and the Silver Samurai, they have actual criminal records and escaped from prison and shit. Plus Shaw is a filthy mutie.

I got a subtle Kek out of that

Fucking SHIELD, dedicating more effort going after heroes then they do going after the Red Skull.

So, I guess Thor is going to end up rescuing Dagger or something?

For some reason I'm rustled on how she removed the door without fucking with the frame

And that concludes my very first storytime, might do another one later today

Nice to see this book is remaining remarkably average

With clothes like that you swear that she is in the S&M business.

Listen Jane, we need to talk about your lawyer.

everything plot-wise is cool, mixing corporations with interdimensional mythologies and such. but this thor replacement still sucks

You could just let the Asgardians cure you rather than killing yourself for attention.

Only makes you appreciate thor more. That's the plan all along

God dammit stop teasing and just bring him back already

Did Shaw regain his fucking memory? Last I remember he was stillbmindwiped after AvX..... Ugh fucking hell marvel continuity only lasts 5 years before they become irrelevant.

Everyone needs a hobby

nothing interesting happens, the art is pretty, WHO KNEW DYING COULD BE THIS MUCH FUN gets an encore

There, I just spared you a shit storytime

thanks OP

He regained his memory somehow, yeah. His most recent appearances in Uncanny X-Men show he's the Black King of the Hellfire Club again. Really, we all knew it was only a matter of time before it happened, especially since he was starting to regain some of his memories before AvX.
I'm still wondering how the fuck he became rich enough to be the 1% of the 1%. Plus he's a mutie criminal, the feds should be right up his ass.

Honestly im fine with him being rich. Its one of his primary characteristics.

Its like how Emma Frost always has pile of money lying around while also dressed in skimpy outfit. Or how Daredevil's life is filled with misery or how Odin will always be a dick. Its just part of who he is. Tony will always have wads of cash (we all know him being poor is temporary). Ollie is a hippie who sold his company that bangs Black Canary etc etc

I am just more bothered by him gaining his memory than the fact be is rich.

>or how Odin will always be a dick
He never used to be

Having read his original Silver Age appearances, I have to disagree.

Well, he was at least a cool guy in Simonson's run

Yeah Odin being a dick goes as far as silver age under Kirby as the other user mentioned. Which is one of the reasons why I don't like Kirby's Thor that much.

Simonson Thor makes sense and should be the All Father we all know and love.

I think the last time we saw a benevolent wise Odin was in Ewings Loki's run. Hopefully we get that version quick.

>that second panel
Wow, fucking hell son. That arts gotta be some sort of joke.

fuck off gimp lady, your design is awful

How does she have the authority to do that? She was only a rookie when she was first introduced. I dropped this after the first arc of the previous volume.

I'm reading these two as Cardholder and Doe from Venture Bros and it's great.

you can just not read it, you know that right?

>not rage-reading
you're no true channer
get out

>that Fisk
Looking a little Jolly, Jack.

>not rage-fapping
Get on my level.

>the mighty nothing fucking happens

Why was Loki the best part of this book?

Since Sup Forums took up permanent residence.

Those dumbfucks couldn't wait for her chemo? She's still an almost terminally ill cancer patient.

Awww.

>WAAAAAAAH someone doesn't hold the >exact same position on things as meeeee

This is not your safe space this is Sup Forums
Welcome! now get the fuck out

You seem overly defensive about this.

hey see Aaron you can do Hellfire Club

Do we know who this friend is? Looks like some rando she's in chemo with.

nah just sick of the faggotry

Ship, because fuck it why not

I still think this is a good book. beautiful art

Yay, I'm not the only one

You're sperging out because a comic is being storytimes on Sup Forums The only faggotry around here is coming from you.

Meshing the SFX into the art like that produces a pretty cool effect.

Looks like a Calidus assassin.

This comic is cancer.

I like the fact that there's a Shi'Ar there. It makes sense that Marvel Earth would do commerce with other planets.

Now for someone to reveal Xavier was involved in some shady Shi'ar shit to fund the school

Why do Whor comics always have these weird-ass panels?

Is that a complaint? I like it when artists are creative with their panel layout

Yeah, I like what I'm seeing here. The "Thursday I took a friend fishing" scene--heck, the whole montage--is exactly what one wants to see in a comic where Thor is a human. Plus, Jane, just from these scans, isn't a pansy, and I could believe she's a god in her off time. I liked it, and I think maybe now that this comic no longer feels like it needs to prove itself, it might start getting into the meat of the plot.

The real Thor did those things too.

But I wasn't talking about him. I was talking about the presentation of this Thor, which I found satisfactory. Plus, even if he did those things, the fact that a human person is doing this changes it a bit.

>the fact that a human person is doing this changes it a bit.
It's still not better. A human doing all they can to help people, that's nice. A god doing what he can to help people who live such fast lives, and are so far beneath him, that's more touching because that god is helping people globally, not just his "believers". Thor's morality and umbrella of protection extends further than Jane's.

Is Jane only helping her "believers"?

So, you think that this rendition of Thor is less deep and meaningful than the original?

I think the idea of a human, dealing with the impossible weight of being a god, is fairly interesting. It's different from original Thor, though, and I could see why you dislike it if you're here for the adventures of a god prince.

It's STILL Jane Foster as "Thor"?
This fucking shit started in a What If? story from issue 10 in 1978.

More specifically, it only shows her
>bringing water to some refugees
>stopping a meteor
>taking a friend for a fun ride and seeing their funeral
>protesting Loki
>drinking with soldiers
>stopping a bank robbery
>trying to negotiate with the realms issues

Compared to what lengths we've seen Thor go to for people on Earth, yeah, Jane leaves a lot to be desired. The idea of a human struggling with being a god is a fine enough idea, if it makes sense in context. Jane should not be the protagonist here, though. She took a malfunctioning hammer and is going around with the powers of a god without any confidants, or anyone to directly vouch for her. She shouldn't be worthy for the hammer, and doesn't deserve Thor's powers at all. She's trying to be Superman and failing miserably, because even within the story they can't justify her taking the "mantle" of Thor.

Her main villain is PATRIARCHY INCARNATE Odin and a fucking minotaur business mogul. That's boring garbage. But sure, "human" okay.

From day one this idea was terrible, and the execution only confirmed that.
