What's your favorite "party's over" scene in film? Like the moment when the characters, who had been having a pretty good time up to that point, get a swift reality check.

I'm torn between when they find the dead baby in Trainspotting, or when they come across the fatal car accident in Wild At Heart.

I don't think that was a parties over scene to be honest everyone around Bill knew his wife was cucking him and the party continued.

When Bane declares that he's crashing CIA's plane with no survivors.

such a good film holy shit, though I need to rewatch it to get the full experience, I first watched it on a binge and couldn't fully enjoy it

great film but the horrible sound editing when they shoot him ruins it almost.

"Dude where's my car" when they go to check their gfs and discover they totally trashed the house and have to clean it.
I was like dude weed lmao and then dude wow.

is the nic cage one a remake? I hate how he just deus ex machina everything to a happy ending while that one is completely brutal and cold

PARTYS OVER IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT

it's a reinterpretation. I'm not too into it either. it has some interesting scenes though like when he smokes crack with that trashy whore while holding her boyfriend at gunpoint.

I masturbated to that a lot when I had no porn and no internet

when the trolls are having a huge party and the Bergen shows up and starts stealing them

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas scene where he takes the adrenocrum in the motel or whatever that adrenaline drug was.

I was in high school up late drinking and smoking with a few friends. Thought the movie was just some wacky tale of some idiots getting drugged up and having a crazy weekend. Numerous shenanigans type of shit. But the movies tone starts to turn to a nightmare scenario after that motel scene. He wakes up and the room is trashed and he doesn't recall what happened. The scene of them driving down the strip vomiting out the car and on people. Gonzo pulling that knife on the waitress.

>Gonzo pulling that knife on the waitress.
that's one of the few scenes where the tone matched how it sounded in the book.

Ferrara is so damn underrated. What other by him are worth a watch and have this sleazy as fuck NY aesthetic to it?

King of New York.
New Rose Hotel (kind of)
Welcome to New York has a few great sleazy scenes.
The Funeral is kind of boring and wasted potential.

Imo Addiction is his best film and unironically one of the best vampire movies ever.

This scene is the absolute pinnacle of a "party's over" scene.

Definitely the dead baby scene.

>that scene where they are in awe over Matthew Fox's telescope.
Favorite part of the movie by far.

The New Years party scene in general was kino

The moment he blows his brains out in front of the whole party and it smash cuts to "The 80s" is a quintessential party's over scene. As for the New Years party itself, the characters don't know it but I think the audience can see the cracks showing. Especially with Julianne Moore getting Eddie hooked on coke.

I love how straight they played that and the rest of the movie

No music, broad fucking daylight, full camera view of the indians, and it's still scary

GoodFellas: The Layla scene and when Tommy gets killed.

this

Nah, when Tommy murders Spider. It's so cruel and unnecessary that it reminds the audience these are gangsters, not sitcom characters.

underrated fpbp

kill yourself in the full meaning

That scene is pretty fucked up but the book was worse.

give me the rundown.

What other movies from Ferrara are worth seeing? Really enjoyed the dirty, raw feel of Lieutenant.

>Spoonfeeding.
You can go read about it somewhere.

Oh shit I'm a retard, I thought you asked "like him". Going to bed now.

hahah

The accidental fire in Jarhead

this was fucking crazy after the slow pace of the first two acts. more movies need this much buildup

You fucking asshole.

The chestburster scene from Alien probably. The facehugger attaching itself was initially pretty disturbing but the film takes its darkest turn after Kane dies.

real junkies wouldn't give a flying fuck

It definitely was, the murder/suicide happens at the height of all their success and shit goes downhill fast after. You literally know it's a party's over scene because of the "80s" title graphic that PTA puts at the end to signal that the groovy 70s are over.

well it was Sickboy's kid.

What better way to end a child's birthday party than by hanging yourself in front of the children?

real junkies wouldn't care

you're a junkie too. a cock junkie you faggot.

bro

>tfw this probably happens at every Barron Trump party

thanks alot

partys over scene would be finding the body when kief confronts them, with the gun etc

after you kill Fatman and he goes "I've nothing to wear to the party" and Raiden goes "The party's over for you!"

in Mulan when the soldiers stumble upon the razed village where the rest of the Imperial army was massacred and finally realize that they're fighting a war, not singing showtunes

lol

This is explicitly said by Scorsese I think in the commentary as the film's turning point, where the seduction is over.
