Why aren't father-daughter teams more common in neither comics or cartoons?

Why aren't father-daughter teams more common in neither comics or cartoons?

Misogynist writers always kill off daughters in horrible ways.

Make your own. I'd read it.

FATHER DAUGHTER TEAMS ARE FOR LEWDS ONLY

or the opposite just so they can write a strong female protag

Because nobody enjoys hanging out with their parents. At least, I certainly hope not.

Batman and Robin are pretty much always the best father-daughter team.

Why would you want that? Dad simulators have taken over AAA video games and fuck are they boring.

>TFW Helena Robin will never apear again.

Parents get funner the older you get. Only lame young people (teenagers and twenty-whatevers) think parents are lame. Once you hit thirty suddenly they're the best friends you could ask for, but by then they're old and sick.

Young people are shit.

Star Girl and her dad are a team aren't they?

>parents
>friends
Pick one.

You obviously lucked out on the parent pool
There are cool parents and there are lame parents
I have lame parents, but my best friend has cool parents

parents can be super lame, teenage angst aside

Best father daughter team.

The potential for cute is high

Isn't he a Meccha?

Because people will ship them. If a show came out with this premise, the first reply to the first thread would be "porn when"
And the porn will come 60 replies later because of a generous draw fag, and then it will never stop

Literal 12 year old detected.

Loser with no social skills detected.

The Last of Us showed it can be done pretty well, and can be done with the daughter character also having her own agency in the story. I'm not sure why more authors haven't followed suit.

Sorry that you had terrible parents user

Because last of us was boring

What about mother/son?

Counterpoint: Troy baker is a great VA

>Emma Watson reaction image

Opinion discarded.

And a total qt

Shame too, all he plays nowadays are bland, brown-haired white protagonists.

A bit of this and chauvinism where if a father and son team up, it's cool. Actually mother and daughter teams are fine too.

But if it's Father-Daughter, it's considered child-endangerment, as a father is supposed to be over-protective of their daughter.

Though now I want to see something like a father, whose a low-level metahuman mutant with just enhanced reflexes and slowed aging trying to continue their crimefighting career while their adult daughter with basically superman powers acts stupidly overprotective of him.

Alot of it is also that they just aren't sure how to write a Father/Daughter team-up. The dynamic between fathers and sons and mothers and daughters is obvious and easy to write. The dynamic between a father and daughter is far less obvious.

Actually now that I think about it, the thing that authors really don't know how to do is Mother-Son team-ups. I'm not sure if i've ever actually seen that in a story.

I remember all these pics of a cat boy and a cat MILF super hero team going around Sup Forums. Forgot what that was about, but I had the impression that it was based on actual comic book super heroes? Lots of /ss/ subtext.

>other-Son team-ups. I'm not sure if i've ever actually seen that in a story.
It's vidya but Halo until 343 went ahead and turned it into a fucked up love story between autist and robutt.

I like my father daughter teams to be near-lewd.

Hey everyone, say hi to the normie

Because is hard to appeal.

Post comic writers cant write proper females. Now you want to add layers and bring in a complex mature father-daughter relationship?

Also DC had Stargirl and Stripe
, who was her step dad. I liked their relationship. For marvel I remember MC2's Mayday and Peter. Mainstream universe always had fun interactions between Valerie and Reed

Not to get all Sup Forums but the banner saga has a father daughter element and its fairly Sup Forums for a game.

thing is, with black Cat and Kitten, the relationship was meant to be a bit more of a mirror between Bruce Wayne and Robin who are adoptive figures.

Plus, for whatever reason, Kitten could never figure out Black Cat and his adoptive mother are the same damn people.

I suppose that is true. It is funny though how often authors tend to stumble on excellent surrogate father/daughter dynamics like with Logan and... a lot of his wards. (and weirder in that Logan's only biological CHILD is a son and he's got a crappy relationship as I recall)

sure is summer here

Have you heard his Jazz(Transformers) impression? It is on point.

counterpoint: actors play the roles their directors ask of them. Troy Baker hit it off with Booker DeWitt...

And now everyone who hires him wants him to be or at least use his Booker DeWitt voice, even when he's a spess spy for the Galactic Republic.

It should happen more often.

The majority of comic writers aren't very good writers overall and that's why, OP. Family relationships are deeply complex and require both characters to have clear agency (or the lack-thereof can be a major plot point in and of itself) and to have a nuanced, believable relationship. That's extremely hard for many writers trying to write superhero stuff because there are certain expectations like regular deadlines and tie-ins and shit. Sometimes that just gets left by the wayside, or it's just far easier to go in a different direction. Father/son and mother/daughter relationships are easier to write because one can make them rather similar with minor differences. Father/daughter and mother/son are very different, careful relationships to craft believably.

As a guy, my favorite parent/child relationships in stories are father/daughter because even though I don't ever want kids, there's still an innate sense of protection in me and I can easily place myself in the role of the father figure in the story. There just aren't many that do it very well which is a real shame.

There's nothing wrong with that

big daddy and hit girl from kick-ass
darkwing duck and his daughter
...
that is all i got

Why aren't there more father-daughter r34 pics?

Good fathers are an increasingly rare trope in cartoons.

These two count right?

read Unsounded

The Kickass movie with Nicholase Cage dad was great.

Because dads are ASSHOLES.

We already had these two

Fuck, I can't find that pic of Violet and Bob passionately kissing!

Most people in the industry are males with abandonment issues (male equivalent of daddy issues)... they have little to no experience with women with daddy issues, and a team up without issues is not really interesting.

What about Body Bags?

You're saying that like mother-son superhero team-ups are even a thing outside of bisexual shota themed hentai doujinshi.

because its creepy

This, mother and son team ups are far more rare than father and daughter stories.

OP, are you that crazy canadian girl that wants to fug her dad?

As an old fuck approaching 30, I can confidently call this bullshit. Parents are just people, as such, they can be anywhere at all on the suck scale. They aren't going to magically become your friend just because you're related. In fact, most often family members hate each other, but still care for each other because they are family. Being good friends with your parents is actually rare. I love mine, but I hate going out with them because we have absolutely nothing in common, including our ideas of what a fun time is or what is an interesting conversation topic.

This. I've gotten chummy with my dad and I really enjoy our discussions, but not so much with my mother. I mean, I love her very much, but she isn't one for conversation and I don't think we're ever going to reach that point in our relationship. She's even told me that she has trouble seeing me and my sibling beyond a certain age - ages we passed more than a decade ago.

>like mother-son superhero team-ups are even a thing outside of bisexual shota themed hentai doujinshi.

tell me more

They don't want to feed incest fetishists like Op.

hnng

Here you go

You got me
I'm gonna go watch Warcraft with him and shamelessly snuggle

Niku Ringo NIPPON CHAMBER

it's more like parents chill out, unfortunately that doesn't make them better people. in a lot of ways it's infurating, like why the shit weren't you this chill before? and howcome you arent holding onto the values you instilled in me?

if 'not a dad but just a guy that rescued you' counts then there's tons. often in the zombie genre.
otherwise yeah there's too few of those. obvious reasons: the whole fantasy is about protecting someone weak in a shitty dangerous world.

Gracias

Well enjoy your snuggeling then

>Actually now that I think about it, the thing that authors really don't know how to do is Mother-Son team-ups.
That's because Momma's Boys are looked downed upon.

children are a lot of work, meanwhile you dont have to do anything to look after another adult

plus most people are bad parents lmao, I never thought my parents were lame

She wasn't his daughter. She was his future wife. It's the end of the world. It don't matter. None of this matters.

Are you the one who looks like Cass Cain, or did we get another that I'm just finding out about?

>She was his future wife
really?

>Parents find some daddy/daughter stories on my laptop, including some I wrote
>They have a long talk with me about it, it's the most embarrassing day of my life
>A few weeks pass and life goes on
>Suddenly my dad wants to hang out all the time and is always asking me if I want to watch a movie
Are you serious? Fucking gross

Maybe he thought it was a fruodian thing caused by not being there or something?
Or maybe he wants to bond with someone who shares the same fetish.

No, it's just a meme since Ellie is immune to the virus and so people say she needs to have immune kids.

Though it's true she's not his daughter, but she basically is by the end of the game.

Are you a grill? And how old are you that your parents snoop trough you PC and have to give you talks? Also are your stories any good?

I can picture Clarissa becoming a Punisher type.

whatta fucking tease you are

Steel and his daughter do some stuff at times I think

>Because people will ship them
tbqh, ppl will ship ANYTHING

>most daughter are underage
>burgers will hound you as literal paedophiles if you draw underage pussy
>normie shits find incest icky and gross

Image Searching doesn't work. What is this from?

>mfw

It's Architecture and Mortality by Brian Azzrello.

Plase tells us how it went down, I wanna fap really hard tonight

Do Ozai and Azula count?

It's funny that the only comic that featured these two together had incest jokes. really makes it hard not to see sexual tension between them even when you know there isn't.

No. There's a reason I don't post em anywhere!

>Have a healthy relationship with both of my parents
>Even when divorced
>They even still get along courteously with one another.

Am I an anomaly?

silent majority. most ppl are like you
the ones that are fucked complain and go in to the arts

God damn do I recognize this. All my friends who are more artsy or creative have awful relationships with their parents, like holy shit. Almost seems like a point of pride saying how awful or estranged they are from their parents.

Were they the filthy kind of bad or the cringy kind of bad?

Ah, I get it. The talk with your parents was about how you should give up on your dream to become a writer?

>Ellie is immune to the virus and so people say she needs to have immune kids.

But wouldn't she still be a carrier, like a typhoid Mary case.

The 'What's a second draft?' kind of bad.
It had that effect, yes.

It's sorta unclear. At one point she bites a guy and tells him he's infected now, but she was just trying to distract him so she might have been bullshitting.

All of my arty friends who have problems with their parents are also kinda slutty
My non slutty art friends have great relationships with their parents

I guess it just depends on how they were raised

>It's sorta unclear.

Sounds like a risky thing to go in raw. I would at least have her bite, or inject fluids from her into an animal to see if it turns.
