blow was cheaper back then.

PC's became a legit widespread thing, and the dot-com bubble.

because our virtues were right down the middle

Because we thought the future was going to be families in space, new technology, flying cars wealth, abundance and happiness. Instead we got this.

Technology and progressivism was going to create a global utopia where everyone is rich and happy and equal. The dramatic pace of technological innovation kept the dream alive and for the first time cameras and computers could create realistic illusions that sustained that belief.

Its a lot harder now. Tech marches but not in any ways that feel like a panacea. We gorged ourselves on the pros, never considering the cons. Now there is an unpayable debt hanging over our heads and our children are becoming sterile transexual grass eating masturbators. All traditional community oriented culture is replaced with fuzzy corporate marketing and shrewed warlord style individualism.

Heroin, mostly.

REEEEEEEEEE

Maybe you were, because you were a child then.
However, I was an adult then and cannot say that people were happier in the 90s

>you will never be as cool as the dude in the bandana walking out the electronics with two fresh copies of Windows 95 on the day of its release.

This.

You get accounts of children living in early-impoverished stalin's Russia who looked fondly back at their childhood.

i wonder what hes up to now or if hes even alive still

>1995 was 47 years ago
feels bad man

Pop music had not yet went full retard.

Once the USSR fell, space became an afterthought. Why couldn't those damn snow niggers not chimp the fuck out and put a halt to the space race, not to mention massive tech projects funded by the government in general.

You were only happier because you were younger! :^)

Technology hasn't warped human interaction! :^)

What do you mean you feel like strangers and friends and store clerks and everyone else seemed way more sociable and engaging before smartphones and social media? :^)

You're just looking at the past with rose tinted glasses! :^)

Why don't you play the new Pokemon Go game and take your Prozac? :^)

Nothing has changed, go back to bed. :^)

Oceania was at war with Eurasia. :^)

>rise of cell phones and the internet

Slide thread, sage

No more fear of nuking the world into oblivion. You kids have no idea what it was like, living in fear of global annihilation of the entire biosphere from the bottom up. AGW can't even compare, that's just a prediction in a flawed computer simulation, whereas the nuclear bomb testing was very real, and proved a nuclear war would be even more devastating than imagined. Bikini Atoll still is uninhabitable, and the USA and Russia still have three times as many nukes as it would take to sterilize the entire land surface of the Earth to the same degree.

They weren't. But they had money.

9/11 hadn't happened yet

New version of Windows

>Pre 9/11
>Pre internet, smartphones -- general entertainment overload
>Childhood births in US were still majority non Hispanic white
>You could actually turn on a sitcom in the 90s and see 6 main characters, all white. Now you have a crippled black Jew, a transgender, a Muslim lesbian, etc. and an interracial couple shoved into EVERY show
>pre political correctness takeover
>pre general demoralization of America
>post cold war. We won and we never felt safer

Better times.

It should be noted, 'white,' as defined by the federal government, includes arab filth.

White – A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.

One picture does not represent the entire 90 s...

Yay for feminism, which all but insured the destruction of the White race through an erosion of birth rates. Yay for multiculturalism and diversity which all but insure Whites will be chased down in their own countries.

It's not too late. It's never too late. Wouldn't need more than 10,000 to start a colony. The question becomes, do you have the will to do what is necessary? I fear the answer is a resounding, 'no.'

...

Because we weren't trapped in this thread forever and ever

...

...

Should I keep going?

None of you faggot were alive

Your fathers were dumb enough to knock up your mothers by accident. Oh yeah, it WAS by accident

Thanks doc

You're welcome.

No social media...

90s was such a safe time to be a kid that parents had to invent things to get scared about

Parents literally thought their kids were going to join gangs if they bought them denim jeans.
Parents thought satanic cults were in every little suburb ready to corrupt their kids
Parents were afraid that their children would be abducted by strangers when it almost never happens
Parents were afraid of their children watching MTV because of one or two unwholesome shows

They weren't really.

Every generation thinks that the era they grew up in was a happier and more simple time but don't seem to realize that they feel that way because they were children and weren't exactly concerned with world affairs or domestic politics.

This is why Reagan's "Make America Great Again" slogan is so powerful. It doesn't refer to any particular era to go back to so the listener projects their childhood memories of "when things were good" onto it to fill the gap.

You should probably ask for your parents' permission before handling sharp objects like that.

...

Because i was a kid an did not know how much of a fucking piece of shit i would become.

Nobody asked you to use a condom.
Shit was cash.

...

...

why is there always a 200+ post nostalgia thread with a '1 post by this ID' OP every time i come on here?

you guys are getting distracted by the shills, go outside

...

the Clinton economy

not even joking

Because the internet hadn't ruined everyone yet.

...

>dot com bubble before it popped

fixt

Those Windows 95 buyers were happy to finally experience what Macintosh users had been talking about for the past decade.

/thread

that didn't really get going until about 1996 or so though

...

Reminder that this thread is posted several times each month, and has been for well over two years.

Each and every time the same words and OP image is used.

This is a slide thread

Thank god the blacks keep killing each other or else we'd be completely overrun.

We weren't. We just weren't as fucked as we are now. Housing and shit was more affordable but women were total sluts and they all went through the rite of passage of fucking low lives but you didn't have Tindr to do it yourself. You had to go out a lot in the hopes of getting a bit from some slag.

...

LOL u are the sliders

No internet
No muslims

Because things were getting better.

worst character desu

...

...

false optimism due to the tech bubble

and this

:^(

>pre general entertainment overload

Portable cassette and CD players
VHS movies
Cable and satellite TV with hundreds of channels and non-stop programming
Home video games

Entertainment overload was already in full swing.

...

The only time I played that game was at my friends birthday party. I got Mewtwo early af and became unbeatable, then everybody rage quit.

Feelsgood mane

There were Muslims and there was internet, there were just no Muslims with internet.

The Middle Class existed.

...

White people were still comfortable with their 75-80% racial majority, the economy was good, no major overseas wars, and political correctness and moral degeneracy weren't as bad as they are now. White people in the US are uneasy at becoming a minority, and whites over 40 years old are worried about how brainwashed with political correctness many of today's white youth are.

They weren't tho, Clerks is a pretty accurate depiction of how bleak life seemed for most young people in the 90's

...

Probably because of the chemical imbalance caused by smoking weed.

...

...

^_^

We had a future of comfy middle class jobs. Oops.

this. now there's the "Knock-out-Game"

Pretty sure people were smoking weed before the 90's

>No kebab
>Comfy middle class jobs
>There was actual upward mobility
>Streets where still littered with small/medium white business no pajeet or Mohammed night shop
>Streets where still clean and a lot more street festivals

because they were all white, so happiness was natural

-the radio wasn't filled with degenerate music- at least not much
-there was still a chance for a full-time job
-reality tv wasn't the only thing
-kids actually played outside (Super Nintendo was great, but parents used to kick you off after a while)

Life was bleak, but not hopeless

The world just didn't suck so badly. Niggers were niggers and they kept to their own as they should. Blackbirds with blackbirds, bluebirds with bluebirds, etc.

Go to fucking hell alex

Because they weren't as terrified of offending someone.

Because we didn't have a nigger President

Everyone was into Pogs and Nickelodeon cartoons.
War wasn't invented until September the 11th.
We just chilled and played Gameboy up until that point.

because apparently everyone could dress and act like autists, be unattractive as fuck and still get laid

sage to slide threads

>i am literally all on the right

because our wive's weren't fat fucking entitled pigs yet.

The internet had not become widespread. The presence of modern social media allows any disparate groups of lowlives and scum to congregate and unify, whereas before they would be soundly quashed and quieted. Moreover, it plays into the average citizen's inclination for confirmation bias by allowing them to filter and sott what information they consume and that which is ignored.

There are many benefits to the internet, but it cannot be denied its effects on society are beyond what was applicable even twenty years ago.

I dunno, every gen x-er i see now looks like shit and 10+ years older than they should
seems like having a job and a family sucks

This

we were unaware of the JQ
sjws didn't exist
no 9/11

you know there could have been peace
but
someone wanted to control the world

You only had limited amounts of entertainment and had to make the most of it. You had a vhs player and a few tapes and you'd watch them over and over. These days we flit from one YouTube vid to the next, massive difference.

The video games were more basic but so much more fun. And had a lot more character.

The Internet and over saturation of the media hadn't jaded everyone. You could walk around your town, go to friends houses, go shopping and everyone seemed a lot more enthusiastic and full of life. Kids were more 'child-like' then too. More innocent and they would play out all day.

Sometimes I'd just lie on my bed. That was it. Just lie there and either relax or think, sometimes both. Now it's so tempting just to go on the fucking Internet all the time.

All in all, it was a simpler and better time. And it's never coming back.
