what is it like living here?
What is it like living here?
isolated i guess, must be fine
People across the strait "feel sorry" for you, for some reason.
I just noticed it looks like Japan.
Seems really comfy
whoa thats a scary pic
t. Kiwis on proxy
Ooo
I actually want to emigrate to NZ, if given the opportunity.
I want to migrate to America hahaha :ddd
They don't 'live' there, at least not in the traditional sense. They do their best to emulate life but they do not live.
Same
Lmaoing from retards who work as freelancers and migrated to Australia.
it's pretty chill ayyy
this land called japan for sure
they have problems with shit like amazon apparently
I don't think, that internets in NZ are much faster, but I don't need them for my job(after 4 years)
what is like living in auckland?
>poo peeland
HAHAHAHAHHHHAHHAHHAHAHHHAHAHHAHH
*blows up your greenpeace boat*
*dubs on your judiciary system*
hon
It's ok I guess, I don't live in one of the main cities so i feel isolated from the rest of the world, we only get foreigners from the same few countries coming to my town, so i have barely met people from any cool countries, I live in the North Island but much prefer the South Island. Otago and Southland are really nice and if i could choose where to live in NZ I would choose one of those two places
>we only get foreigners from the same few countries coming to my town
which ones? and what about nz overall
i wonder if they see those cuties
Helo.
How hard to find a job for engineer?
What's about houses?
How are people overall?
What's with the internet? Is it as bad as in Australia?
Most of the ones that i meet are from England and Scotland, Australia, South Africa, India, China and Japan, also heaps of Polynesians but i hardly count them as foreigners cause there are so many of them here and they generally fit in really well. The bigger cities have more varied people living there, but still i think compared to other countries and even Australia, I don't think we get as many people from different places, probably because we are so isolated.
Shit country, do not go there
t. nz expat
G'day, I think you should be able to find engineering jobs fairly easily in the bigger cities, Not sure about pay though, we have a good minimum wage here but people working in higher paying careers don't get payed as much as overseas. Houses are pretty bad in New Zealand, Insulation wasn't really a thing until about 30ish years ago so lots of the older houses and flats are very cold and damp in the winter. But that is changing now and alot are being brought up to code, Newer builds are very good though. Houses in the bigger cities are obviously more expensive than smaller towns, like Auckland which has about 1.5 million population has an average house price of around $1000000 NZD, but i would pay more to live in the bigger cities because theres nothing happening in the smaller places. People overall are pretty relaxed i think, probably just very interested in where you come from and excited to meet someone from Russia :D, the internet is pretty good here i think its quite expensive compared to what they pay in Europe etc, for example i pay around $90 NZD a month for 100 down and 50 up. Feel free to ask more questions if you want, it's cool to have people actually interested in this place for once.
I think they are endangered, I have only seen some in the zoo, they are nocturnal though so you have to go into a dark room to see them awake.
too bad, i would go to NZ just to see them tb.h :(
is life expensive in NZ, like for the food, rent, university?
the idea of being on such a small island so far away from everyone else is horrifying
it's shit
must be like living in a fucking farm
New Zealand is quite expensive, rent depends entirely on where you want to live, food is very expensive, apparently according to some uni website it costs between 20 - 30 grand for a bachelors degree but medicine and veterinary cost a bit more
What's wrong with living on a farm?
>1000000 NZD
And I thought Moscow had price problems.
There are commieblock-like buildings with flats, right?
And, if to say, I would apply for a job in aircraft maintenance, in which I have experience( I would like to apply somewhere 9 years later), could I be rejected, in favour of foreign individual from Africa/China with less experience, kkust because they are brown/yellow? I heard a lot of stories like that about USA, Sweden, etc.
Coming from someone living in one of the world's worst countries
I bet they have McDonalds over there so you won't feel so lonely
omg thats so expensive, still would love to live there if it wasn't that expensive
My company has a NZ office, in Wellington. I might have a chance to work there for a couple of years.
Worth it?
New Zealand doesn't have commieblock buildings as far i i know. If you have a decent handle on English which it seems like you do, I would think you would have as much chance as anyone, except if it was you against a New Zealander going for the same job, they would choose the New Zealander probably but that's the same in every country
Thats the problem when the closest country is over 2000 km away, everything costs fuckloads
Is car a must-have thing or there is decent public transportation?
Also, are there a lot of poisonous things like in Australia?
Wellington is a nice city, fucking windy though
it's boring to death
>hurr durr every brazilian is a favelado without resources Sup Forums taught me hur dur
looks like their education sucks too
Go away you fucking monkey.
Depends on where you live, i haven't been to Auckland but i heard the public transport there is atrocious, but so is the traffic, Wellington public transport seems alright, the streets are very narrow there and the centre of town is very compact so its scary as fuck driving there. There is hardly anything poisonous here, just a few spiders but you never see them anyway, also there are no dangerous animals except maybe a cow or something
shut the fuck up swecuck
To be fair who on earth ever learns about Brazil?
Fun fact, New Zealand has no native land mammals
so don't talk about what you don't know, makes you seem dumb
That wasn't me mate, I'm just saying.
It's the popular view of Brazilians, that you're poor slum dwelling darkies.
Hopefully that view can change in the future.
How's the weather? What kind of temperatures you get in Summer / Winter?
is NZ racist towards non-whites like aussies?
No, not really.
>It's the popular view of Brazilians, that you're poor slum dwelling darkies.
It is the correct view to be honest with you.
Well, my chosen speciality makes me bound to the airports and airfields. The most dangerous things that I've seen there are eagles, used to kill the pideon flocks. Are there any spiders in hangars?
That's interesting, thank you.
wew noice then
In my town in summer it goes between 20-32 degrees and in winter 0-10 degrees, sometimes it might be just into the negatives in the morning and at night. Down south can get quite cold, central Otago can get -10 sometimes colder in winter, and in summer up around 30. NZ has a temperate climate so nothing crazy temperature wise. I does get very humid in a lot of places though which makes it worse.
probably a comfy paradise where you can stay at home and get neetbux
Honestly i really have no idea about that sort of stuff sorry, i just work in a shop in a medium sized town
Sounds good. Thanks user.
Are the some forbidden words, like 'negro' in USA?
I don't want to fuck up people's impression of myself by doing dumb thing.
comfy
hope so
Just all the usual words i guess, also don't call the Polynesians FOB's which means fresh off the boat, they may call themselves that but others aren't for some reason, some get very aggressive over it.
fun fact dunedin is anglicised gaelic for edinburgh
It's boring for me though, because i like meeting different people, Ive never even met anyone from the Americas except for a few Canadians, which is crazy cause there are so many people there, It's just kind of depressing to me knowing that we are basically isolated from everyone else
To think of it, New Zealand must have a lot of beaches, due to being situated on (at least) 2 islands. How big is probability of being eaten by a shark?
There are heaps of beaches, but you would have to swim very far out to sea for there to be sharks i would think, it's not like Australian beaches where they have shark nets
So New Zealand is quite safe, compared to it's neighbors? Or there is some kind of gopniks/chavs/bogans or some kind of hillbillies who don't like visitors?
yep, your friend doesn't stop being dumb because of this
We do have Bogans here just like the Australian ones, and just like everywhere there are racist people here who don't like foreigners, but they are basically only the old people. I would say that New Zealand is a very safe place
Thank you for your answers.
I shut myself down now, because it's 0:52.
Alrighty mate, have a good one
It's alright, I've lived here my whole life and I want to see the rest of the world though
pretty chill. lots of chinese qts. houses are crazy expensive though. comparable to central London or Manhattan relative to purchasing power.
it's actually a legal requirement for companies to prove they could not hire a NZer for the role when importing someone on a work visa
