Batman is the only compelling DC character

>Batman is the only compelling DC character
You know this to be true there's no arguing it

Obvious troll but interesting, layered DC characters:

Hal Jordan
Oliver Queen
Aquaman
Jason Todd
Deathstroke
Lex Luthor
Dick Grayson
Martian manhunter
Ra's
Black Canary

Thats a few off the top of my head

>hasn't read Aquaman 52 and Rebirth
>hasn't read Kingdom Come

>interesting, layered characters:
>Hal Jordan
Stopped reading.

> compelling
> Geoff Johns and Mark Waid

Way to name a bunch of characters every normie knows. Maybe two of these characters are layered or interesting in the slightest.

batman was a mistake

This entire fucking thread is bait

OP here,

Not trolling just retarded.

Have you ever read Midnighter?

Nope

according to sales Batman AND Harley Quinn are

I do not agree. And I do believe your opinion comes from a place of deep ignorance. Or you are trying to get an angry response.

Either way. It's childish and I will not participate on it any further than this. Have a good day.

>characters every normie knows
>Martian Manhunter
But user, Normies aren't virgins

>Wally West
>The Question
>New 52 Supes during his "I'm dying" phase
>Black Adam

To name a few.

It's true, all DC characters should dress like animals and throw animal themed boomerangs at people.

...

These plus
> Ted Knight
> Jack Knight
> Wesley Dodds
> Late 90s Grundy
> Swamp Thing
> John ConstanTYNE
> Blue and Gold
> Etrigan
> Tommy Monaghan
> All of Doom Patrol
OP confirmed for never reading a comic in his fucking lifetime.

>Grundy
Not OP but i'm interested

>Tommy Monaghan
>All of Doom Patrol
We should fuck
>John ConstanTYNE
Never mind then

Sorry Bruce, but there's a flawed hero with real depth in DC now.

this needs to be redone to include jessica

>> Swamp Thing
>> John ConstanTYNE
>> Blue and Gold
>> Etrigan
>> Tommy Monaghan
>> All of Doom Patrol
WHO THE FUCK LET A GUY WITH GOOD TASTE IN HERE?!

Every time Grundy is reborn in the swamp, he comes back with another personality. Around the time the Staan series kicked in, he came back with the personality of a frail child, and having been wandering Opal City's sewers, Jack and Ted take him in along with the Starman of another world. I forgot his name.

user normies remember him from the JL cartoon series

>CTRL+F
>NO Booster Gold
Fuck all of y-
>> Blue and Gold
My nigga of superior taste

How could I fucking forget?
I don't just mean Rorschach, pretty much all of Watchmen is a character study.

>They will never be a Swamp Thing movie.
Just end my life guys

>Jason Todd

No.

There were two, and a tv series

I like to imagine a smile under that mask.

Some favorites:
>Vic Sage
>Jonah Hex
>Hans von Hammer
>Katar Hol
>Renee Montoya
>The entire Fourth World

A good one user

Not the only, but he's definitely up there.

>compelling = complex
Don't cede arguments the OP didn't even make.
Plenty of superheroes that people find "compelling" are quite simple.

Stan lee pls die

>Jason Todd
CRRAAWWLLIIINNGGGG IIINNN MYYYY SKIIIINNNNN

Cinema audience agrees with you.

Just to be mean I'm going to argue that it's not Batman, but his cast of villians that's the most compelling thing about Batman comics.

Take Hal Jordan off there. He's probably the least interesting Lantern. I like him and he has potential when he's written well, but he comes off as a little bland. Even Geoff Johns kinda made him bland and Hal is his waifu.

Replace him with Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner.

Other interesting DC characters include:
>Wonder Woman
>Amanda Waller
>Deadshot
>Catman
>John Constantine
>Mera
>Orm
>Black Adam
>Sinestro
>motherfucking SUPERMAN (really? The only people who think he's boring are morons)
>Kate Kane
>Cassandra Cain
>Lady Shiva
>Vic Sage
>Renee Montoya
>the Fourth World

The DCU is loaded with interesting characters. Just because most people have shit taste doesn't make it not true.

cia is better

I'm a huge batfag and even I know this is a bait thread

Snyder pls go

>No one is the only compelling Marvel character
You know this to be true there's no arguing it

...

Batman is what cripples DC from achieving greatness.

I only read a few pages of Enemy Ace's premier in Showcase, but allow me to sum up his character.
>Mein Gott, it's the Hammer From Hell! He's a killing machine!
>Maybe I am a killing machine...

Batman is the only DC hero that retards aren't intimidated by

>Spiderman is the only compelling MARVEL character
You know this to be true there's no arguing it

>spiderman
>compelling

nigga nah. Spiderman is not interesting at all.

Ops being cute, but i know a bunch of people who believe this.

I'd toss Deathstroke off, as well as Jason the moment he is brought back into the Bat-Family proper.
I'd also toss Supes on. The potential for tyranny on unprecedented levels being completely ignored and instead used just to help those in need compels me personally on a daily basis.

Oh yeah, absolutely. The Showcase stuff is as subtle as a sledgehammer. But it's still pretty heavy stuff for its time, and the themes of trying to retain some semblance of humanity in the dehumanizing environment of war ring true, albeit in more fantastic ways.
That said, the best thing starring Hans von Hammer is still War Idyll, with War in Heaven a close (but not too close) second.

Top tier taste

>Hal Jordon
>Jason Todd
Heh
