Sinestro stealing euros

>Sinestro stealing euros

What the fuck? Why did they think this was a suitable plan for someone like him? What does he care for Earth money?

Inspiring fear and doubt in people. Poor people have a lot to worry about.

Maybe he thinks Hal is european.

This is pre Johns turning Sinestro into Sup Forums's husbando

Dude even before that he was a space based criminal

Why would he give a shit about any scheme that doesn't involve Green Lantern?

it wasnt his plan, it was luthor's, remember? and it was a pretty clever one. in fact i seem to remember sinestro resenting having to do crimes like that, but luthor was just like 'we need cash brah'

Yeah, that always bothered the fuck out of me.

But the worst was what JLU did with Flash's Rogues. Timm constantly bitched about how OP Flash really is, but what did they ever do give him a real threat? When they finally showed Captain Cold, it was already the final season and he was treated like a lamer Mr. Freeze.

For fucks sake, they at least used Sinestro and Star Sapphire to be a true threat for GL. But no speedster to fuck with Flash? Really? Zoom would have fixed that with no problem.

Characters the DCAU fucked up. Feel free to add:

>Sinestro
>Star Sapphire
>The Shade
>Cheetah
>Hugo Strange
>Captain Atom

Green Lantern, and pretty much fucked up the whole GL franchise as a result.

Barbara

He was obviously trying to make as less euros as possible, and since there would be fewer euros, euros would worth a lot more, and the inflation would've stopped.

He was trying to save Europe's economy

>implying JLU's hardnosed marine John Stewart wasn't a massive improvement over the dull as fuck architect GL in the comics
>implying GL Corps eps weren't at least interesting

He was trying to expedite the Brexit chaos by destabilizing the Euro

>John Stewart
Using the black GL made people think that the GL is black. Now DC can't even kill him because it would be racist, and he's going to be the lead in the GLC movie above other interesting GLs like Kyle, Guy, Kilowog, Arisia, Tomar Re, Mogo, Isomot Kol and every other GL.

you can add pretty much any villain outside of Batman or Superman's rogue galleries(minus a couple standups like Grodd), and even some of those got screwed over, it's kinda telling that they killed off more than half of all the villains during Destroyer and no one really reacts to that like they should(heck that's probably the real reason the League declined so heavily between the end of JLU and Batman Beyond, they didn't really have anyone left to fight)

>Characters the DCAU fucked up.
Wondy. When people think Diana's the No Fun Allowed JLA member, they're thinking DCAU.

>>Cheetah
It's kind of impressive how badly they fucked up Dr. Minerva. Her whole shtick is that she's an evil archeologist. How do you fuck that up?

>Arisia
Hal, get off the internet.

Maybe he felt like being a dick that day?

>he was treated like a lamer Mr. Freeze.

but that's exactly what he's always been you retard

That episode were Hal pops in for a second. Super bland. Imagine the whole series with him in it.

You fuck it up if you don't care about Wonder Woman.

But they used Ares and Circe- you know, the two shittiest Wonder Woman villains.

I think Mr. Freeze was a lamer version of Cold up until he was reinvented for BTAS, given his sparse appearances and complete lack of character beyond "I'm really cold and it kinda sucks, now give me the diamonds."

And Cold was a knockoff Icicle before that. At least Freeze got better.

Wait a sec. Who is the original ice-themed villain of DC?

Count Vertigo.
Anyone even remember that episode of BTAS?

The only logical thing to explain everything is Hal is going fucking crazy and destroying everything and Kyle's gonna be in the JL

Remember when Green Arrow killed him.

>Blue Snowman - Sensation Comics #59. (1946)
>Icicle - All-American Comics #90 (October, 1947)
>Minister Blizzard - Wonder Woman #29 (May, 1948)
>Ice King - Marvel Family #82 (April, 1953)
>Mister Freeze - Blackhawk #117 (October, 1957)
>Captain Cold - Showcase #8 (June, 1957)

>Mister Zero (Mister Freeze) - Batman #121 (February, 1959)
>Mister Freeze - Detective Comics #373(March 1968)
>Killer Frost (Crystal Frost) - Firestorm #3 (June, 1978)
>Killer Frost (Louise Lincoln) - Firestorm Vol 2 #21 (March, 1984)
>Icicle Jr. - Infinity Inc. #34 (January, 1987)

So Captain Cold IS a Mister Freeze ripoff

Oh great. Parallax again.

how about the time they conflated greek myth with christian myth?

honestly if nothing else I hate the homegenization of fantasy that shit creates.

Was Siniestro working for Farage

In fairness a lot of Christian myth is appropriated from Roman and Greek sources.

I hate how Wonder Woman always becomes "the one who stabs things I remember from Mythology 101"

>have super powers
>instead of using powers to patent something or create a military contract in whatever that could net billions
>use power to steal literally thousands in whatever currency

I can't believe Wonder Woman got two ice power supervillains who faded into obscurity while Egg Fu snuck into current comics.

Blue Snowman shows up sometimes.

I have a new respect for her knowing that she could very well be the very first ice villain in DC. And Killer Frost is the first one that doesn't use a freeze ray.

That image looks like it needs to be storytimed hard

She's eaten like one page later.

she should be one of the villains Wonder Woman fights during the WW2 era. She could have prototype freezing tech that all the other ice villain weapons descend from.

Eaten whole, or eaten out?

at least Mr. Freeze got reinvented.
Captain cuCold si still the same "nothing persona kid, I am just a thief" shit

No wonder manchildren like Johns are so much in love with him

When Freeze got reinvented he got a sympathetic motivation. When Cold needed more depth they just insisted that he was super powerful and made him beat up Mister Freeze and Chillblain because he's super cool

Dude, you're kidding, right? GL:Mosaic is better than every GL episode of JLU.

I love this idea

Because they handled Hal wrong.
To explain what exactly?
>Blue Snowman
Ayy, my obscure waifu was DC's first cold villain.

she a cute

post moar

>ice villain
>ice cream coupon
pottery

At a stretch. Money means a strong antagonist for the JL, which means the opportunity to whittle away GL's Earth based allies

He did do shit like robbing earth banks though

Ice villains are a dime a dozen, but a Yellow Peril egg based villain? Those a much more rare. To my knowledge there are only two, Egg Fu and Mr. Yes.

Hal was fine in that episode though. No way he would have been worse in the series overall than John

In the DCEU? That would be fucking awful.

Here you go, dude.
dc.wikia.com/wiki/Cryokinesis

>dc.wikia.com/wiki/Cryokinesis

that doesn't really work because 3/4th of ice villains use ice guns

>Mister Freeze - Blackhawk #117 (October, 1957)
>Captain Cold - Showcase #8 (June, 1957)

Can you read? Do you know the order of the months?

>Sup Forums waifuing Blue Snowman
... That's, unexpected. Kinda nice though.

Anyway, of all the Wondy stuff they fucked up, surprisingly accurate Circe(best costume too). But then, she is from a well known public domain story.

They likely wouldn't have given Hal the Hawkgirl romance, since he has famous established love interests. So, yes, he would have been worse than John.

The Hawkgirl romance could've been with Carter, and then he could've been properly handled instead of being a miserable cuck. Which reminds me: You can add Hawkman to this () list.

He was probably stealing it for the Society

why does he care for a dead currency for that matter?

she qt

I did like the DCAU take on the Hawkman backstory.

Hawkman was only added in the final JLU season though, which wasn't even supposed to exist originally. They wouldn't make him a big recurring character before JLU considering how there was a much stronger focus on a core cast back then.

Probably Superman; even Timm admitted the only thing he knew to do with Superman was to job him.
I'm also a bit salty about Hawkman like mentioned.
and let's not even start on Black Manta...

Fuck you, I liked their Captain Atom

Sauce? I only remember Vertigos one and done on BTAS

>literally not even a whole minute of screentime
>HOLY SHIT GUISE THEY RUINED HAL WTF WERE THEY THINKING??? >W

>Super bland.

but that's what Hal is
even in his own tv show people forget about him and talk about all the other chracters

H- he's my favorite part of the show. Anyway, anyone who maintains this hasn't read Jones', Wolfman's and probably O'Neill's runs.

Etrigan

That was irritating

Superman
They always had to sideline Superman and make him a pussy in JL to please the Batfags

I think there were problems with DCAU Superman's characterization, but I don't think he was sidelined at all. It's been awhile, but he was a pretty important character throughout JL/U and got plenty of moments to shine. Even if most of those moments were just beating someone's ass...

Spoken like somebody who doesn't read comics

post yfw they all team up and form the Just Ice League

Arrow.

To make Etrigan not rhyme
It is an unforgivable crime

Remember when Batman beat Sinestro and Clayface together in under 20 seconds?

>implying JLU's hardnosed marine John Stewart wasn't a massive improvement over the dull as fuck architect GL in the comics

Ah yes, the "I'm the big man who was in the Marines and make the tough choices, by the way did I mention I was in the Marines? MUH XANSHI" characterization that came out of JLU was loads better than the John that was around during the 80's and 90's.

>breaking iambic pentameter
>while etriganposting

I don't know who you think you are
but I will hit you with a bar.

This.

Also stealing the treasures of alien worlds is a traditional space pirate activity.

Or like. The Top. "I can make everyone puke because I make you super dizzy" is fine.

Mirror Master, or bring back Weather Wizard, or ANY of Flash's fantastic non-speedster enemies, most of whom are built around "How to fuck up the Flash." because that's what you gotta do to be a criminal in Central City.

To have the demon but no rhymes
By far the worst of Bruce Timm's crimes

Better?

better.

or you could read a comic you retard

That actually happened in one of the Justice League kids comics.

Did you guys not read that one Flash Secret Origins issue? Johns made him sympathetic like Freeze.

Yeah people love to shit on Johns, but he legitimately actually realized the potential in Sinestro.

I'm honestly not quite sure how no one did before then. Even as a kid, I always thought, "Shouldn't this guy be a bigger deal?"

Because he was dead/incapacitated for a long time. He was executed around 1988 and didn't get brought back until the tail end of Hals stint as the Spectre which was around 2004. Before that he did all the stuff Johns had him end up doing except he wasn't as calculating about it. He had already attempted creating Rings at Qward to fight against the GL corps, it just ended with Hal beating the shit out of the Qwardians. Kilowog finally restores Bolovax Vik on a new planet but immediately Sinestro blows it up (this is what got him executed in the first place). Eventually made John go insane on the Mosaic world before being exorcised from him back into the Central Power Battery then brought back to life by the Guardians just to get his neck snapped by Hal. Most people just used other villains in their runs as Sinestro was either out of commission or just not apt for the story. Like Marv Wolfman tried making Goldface as Hals big bad when he started writing the book which was pretty good.

Pretty much, yeah.

Don't tell me you actually liked all that Darkstar shit. Cosmic Odyssey was basically character assassination for John.

Timm admitted in the interviews on the Justice League DVD that they did that on purpose, but not for the reasons you've cited.

They had Superman get his ass kicked by the bad guys in every episode to make the bad guys look more threatening. "If they could do THAT to Superman then they MUST be a big deal!"

The problem was they did it in nearly every episode of the first season and it made Superman look like a pussy. They tried to dial it back for the second season and JLU.

Post-Darkstar Cripple John was alright. Actual Darkstars was terrible though and that goes for everyone involved in that book.

No, but I loved GL: Mosaic. And Cosmic Odyssey was great.

That episode when the Amazon creates an allergen that only kills men was annoying. It doesn't make sense how it affects ALL men, including Superman (a Kryptonian), Martian Manhunter (a Martian) and Solomon Grundy (a zombie)

Magic.

Virus that attacks the Y chromosome.

>A Martian has a Y Chromosome
>A Kryptonian's immune system wouldn't be able to resist
>A zombie can get sick

It was the requisite "Girl Power" episode, user.

Logic was thrown out the window from the getgo.

Nah, Farage works for Sinestro, just look at the fucking UKIP logo.
