Not exactly, we're culturally Western for the most part. The main purpose for this recurring thread is to try and validate American muh heritage feelings of inadequacy by excluding poor brown people from what they believe to be a shared identity with Europe.
This is in spite of American culture, ideology, laws and values being demonstrably more in opposition to Europe's than those of Latin America.
