>TCM

Of course they wouldn't dare show any of the early era Disney films on a 'family' network.

I'm glad it happens at all. There's already been a few of these

>Disney films on a Warner channel
wat

It baffles me as to why they don't bother playing some of Disney's older shorts on the actual Disney channels. There's three of them for fucks sakes. They could even just do what CN does and just cram it on XD or junior at midnight or something.

With all the adult, or mature channels Disney owns, why would they risk having Mickey Mouse plagued with low ratings on their main channels?

Those Mickey Mouse shorts don't have the best ratings and anytime they throw some old, the kids react negatively. Why would they ever allow their old, classic stuff to be shit on by kids?

This has been going on since the end of 2014. Deal also resullted in TCM being the sponsor of The Great Movie Ride at Disney World

Is there any place these things usually get streamed at? I want to see An Adventure in Color but I don't have cable.

To be fair, one of the things being shown tonight is a documentary.

They made a partnership a couple years ago. TCM now sponsors The Great Movie Ride at the Disney Hollywood Studios theme park and I guess these blocks are how Disney returns the favor.

Any these shorts good?

Wake me when they finally have the balls to air Song of the South.

When did Leonard Maltin start looking like Roger Ebert?

But he still has a jaw.

>"classics for the entire family to enjoy"
>most of it is on in the middle of the night

A family of bats maybe...

On a Tuesday no less. There's no way they're actually expecting families with children to be watching this.

I'm sure their viewer count would skyrocket that night

Waking Sleeping Beauty is totally worth checking out if you haven't seen it before, as a look into the dark side of Disney animation through their Renaissance period.

bump

>Those Mickey Mouse shorts don't have the best ratings and anytime they throw some old, the kids react negatively

When did this happen exactly?

>Waking Sleeping beauty
oh shit. been meaning to watch that.

Turn of the millenium?

And we have movie sign

Are these pranks better or worse than the remake?

About the same

I watched bits and pieces of this I don't know how many times as a kid, but this is my first time actually sitting down and watching it from start to finish

The jokes are pretty funny.

It's romcom kino

David Swift also wrote the screenplay for the 1998 remake.

post best classic disney shorts

I dont know why but I love these old disney cartoons that use old famous actors and celebrities I could watch them all day

Hmm... Hard to pick. I may have to give them a rewatch.

Without a doubt.

This cyclone scene has forever been imprinted on me since childhood

Here comes everybody favorite Epic Mickey level.

You know, I can't watch this cartoon without thinking about Epic Mickey.

Documentary Time

>That's Me

>Young Tim Burton with a "I really wish I wasn't here right now" face

>Cal Arts

>that Don Bluth crack

Ouch

Say what you will, but Eisner saved Disney.

>pie in the face
HA!

And then he almost destroyed it

>black cauldron beat out by "The Care Bears" movie
Ouch.

These animators are doing some cringe shit man.

They're animators. What did you expect?

Here's the full joke memo.

>vhs
I feel old.

And now we have single word adjective titles

>I'm HIV positive
Jesus, what a bombshell to drop.

RIP Robin Williams

I always love the story of how the execs thought Pocahontas would be the GOAT Disney film that'd get an Oscar while Lion King would just be a dumb talking animal movie nobody would care about.

>people thought no one wanted to see Lion King
>It was more of an experiment
>Pocahontas will be a hit

Sound familiar?

>lion snuggling
HNNNGGG!!!

And then he left to co-found DreamWorks.

That documentary was pretty good my whole family watched it.

literally the first thing I thought of

please just stop ignoring history

>showing an MGM short during their Disney night
What.

They've at least shown a segment of it via one of the old Walt Disney show episodes.

They did a WB short earlier.

Also, that Panama Canal question is bullshit

It was interesting how the documentary asserted Howard Ashman could have been the next Walt. Also that footage of him going over a Beauty and the Beast song and you can see this look on his face that his days were numbered was heart-wrenching.

Watching this makes me think how long until Disney tries to remake some of these old shorts in cg or something like that.

This is as glorious as that one joke pitch Dwayne McDuffie did.

the most racist looking black characters I've ever seen in Disney anything just showed up, so never say never on Song of the South airing on this block.

Also some pretty racist indians.

Ludwig Von Drake time!

We color now.

Ahh, beautiful product placement

Best Science Duck

I remember this! From my Disney Sing along songs vhs!

They should have showed this in black and white

I think I had the same tape

This is the most advanced game of Simon I've ever seen.

this is the only time I've felt privileged for having color tv.

Nice song Ludwig.

Now convince me why I should buy a 4K TV.

I bet the guy who called about a technical answer was trying to build his own color TV.

Urge to go to Disnyland, rising...

Could you imagine if they made a new version of "Wonderful World of Color"?

Ludwig Von Drake presents "The Benefits of HD Television"!

MAG-NI-FI-CA-TION

This segment starts surreal and only ramps up from there.

Can you reproduce by budding?

those shapes reminded me of this

Now, why can't geometry classes show this?

>that pinup of Daisy in Donald's mind.

Wow, I've known this stuff already, and this still blows my mind.

>Donald dressed as Alice
Didn't expect that.

My teacher actually showed the class this
