if the first episode/tv movie is period adaption with a heavy emphasis on gothic horror Ill be happy. Don't really want a modern day adaption. Unless they do the first one in the past and later episodes in different time periods.

But that show wasn't a modern setting and he wasn't solving crimes. It was just a miniseries about him getting revenge while providing a new origin for VanHelsing and why he wants to kill vampires/Dracula
