Well Sup Forums how do we save Jason Todd/ Red Hood?

Kill him again. But before let Roy fuck him hard.

Ignore everything from the New 52. Turn him back into constant reminder of failure for Batman, an evil counterpart for Nightwing, and a cautionary tale for all of Batman's sidekicks.

Redemption shouldn't stick. It doesn't fit him.

Stop trying to turn him into Edgy Nightwing, for starters.

Kill him again.

...

DC's Punisher, no more sidekicks and outlaws. Operating in Gotham just to spite Batman, let him kill a C/B list villain every once in a while. Alternatively, have him kill the Joker and then stop being a vigilante, trying to help children who were in his circumstances in a more positive way, heading up a shelter or something. Preferably using all of the illicit cash that the Joker must have. Bruce still comes after him occasionally to bring him to justice for killing his waifu but mostly leaves him alone. The other Robins help out at the center occasionally, along with Alfred.

We don't

>Turn him back into constant reminder of failure for Batman

And also just how flawed his no killing rule is.

I've always had this picture in my head where Batman and co are fighting villains on Christmas Day or something but Jason is just chilling in his lair or something because he's killed all his enemies.

Impossible, that would take getting him away from Batman and not even Dick and his superior numbers can do that.

this.
he was way better when he kept acting like an asshole, doing fucked up things, but still being able to play for the good guys if it's necessary, like in Battle for the Cowl

What's wrong with the current one?

Give him an emotionally abusive boyfriend who is a villain that is so fucking batshit crazy that in comparison Jason Todd is practically a saint.

Draw it out for as long as possible, start out nice and slow and subtle. And gradually work up the level of psychological/emotional abuse. So that by the end of the series when Jason is forced to kill his boyfriend everyone is cheering him on.

It ends with a single panel of him sitting on a couch in the Wayne mansion with Bruce holding him while Jason cries on his shoulder.

>And also just how flawed his no killing rule is

I want this so much. He keeps putting a bullet into any villain coming into his territory and just escalates everything into anarchy and it only ends when he realizes that he needs to be the better man. He doesn't have to be all like "Oh Batman was right! What a fool I was!". Just let him find his own path.

I would really love some cape comics about a cop who can stand up to super villeins.
Batman has an army of fucking teenagers that are more competent the the freaking Navy Seals, why can't we get one good member of the GPD that doesn't need to rely on Batman to get the job done?

Kill his fans, that's the real problem

Because cops are average joe citizens who can't spend millions of dollars hiring the best of the best to train them in martial arts and warfare.

Not to mention most of them have jobs, being, you know, cops and shit. And then when they aren't working they are taking care of their spouses and kids.

It's easy.
We kill Lobdell.
Or we go with

That's a pretty good repackaging. You can go both ways:

Either have him try and be lawful good, or go full trigger happy on some SWAT team or whatever.

I don't think there's anything wrong with current him to be honest. He just needs DC to push him and give him a solo series to build him up.

>just escalates everything into anarchy

Ehh.... wouldn't Jason killing any villain that comes into his territory just make them go elsewhere?

He is the loser of the bat-family, being mediocre is exactly how he should be

Let someone who isn't Lobdell write him for a decent length of time. As long as they aren't dumb enough to try and tie up plot threads Lobdell himself threw in the trash like Tynion did I don't see how someone else could do any worse.

Recon him out of the continuity.

they are going to turn him into Diana's long lost brother

Why it doesn't fit him? He has always been a good guy deep inside and the whole problem is him feeling that no cares about him.

Jason isn't a villain, he is anti-hero. He has more potential than just being an evil counterpart for Nightwing and definitely more interesting character than Dick who's currently DC's porn star.

Take him away from the bat family. There need to be no bonds between them except as a former failed robin who no longer believes the Bat code. There's some rife between them which causes Jason to move somewhere else(probably Chicago). Batman still takes him as his greatest failure, and Jason still has an inferiority complex from the bat family. Jason has literally no resources, so he starts out as homeless. There's a red hood in town along with his red hood gang, with an updated business suit and the classic bucket helmet, whom the underworld in the city knows as Mr Hood. There's another red hood, with the modern Jason costume who's completely a punisher pastiche. Meanwhile we see that Jason is a broke person, who's after taking down the mafia and pretends to be homeless as his another identity to gather information from the streets, the alleys and the slums. We aren't shown the identity of either Red hoods.

This.

Having a sidekick-turned-villain is a good angle, but it doesn't fit Jason because he in the end means well.

>Take him away from the bat family
Heck no. His presence in the batfamily events is the reason why I even bother reading them. His complicated relationship with Batman and the broship he has with Tim and his snarky comments about them are what made the batfamily interested to me.

put him in his own city and let him try his hand at being a Vigilante. he's in a constant fight with bringing criminals to justice and just flat out killing the worst ones.

At some point Dick shows up and starts preaching to him about not killing and all that. Jason makes some decent points about killing the ones who need to die, but don't make him bring out the whole Joker thing its to played out just have him bring up some points kinda like Justice Lord Batman did and have him bring up some stuff Dick would take personally.

Ends in a fight between the two that starts out all martial artsy and your typical acrobatic fight you'd see with members of the Bat Family but eventually descends into just a knock down drag out brawl between the two. Eventually Jason gets the upper hand using dirty tactics and beats Dick, and tells him to get out of his city.

The general plot of the comic as a whole is just Jason doing the Vigilante thing while reluctantly making actual human connections with people. Start giving him his own Rogues Gallery, maybe giving him some C and D listers from Batman and the like.

Best case scenario with this is Jason can get out of the angry pissed off killer whose whole character seems to be "angry that he died once and kinda sorta hates Batman maybe" and turn him into his own character.

And I know that a bunch of this is kinda cliche and played out but what can you really do with Capeshit at this point?

*interesting
