New show cancelled after 13 eps

>new show cancelled after 13 eps
How would you save the Muppets, Sup Forums?

>Piggy and Kermit "aren't together in real life"
And that's where they jumped the shark on the Muppet hype train.
All they had to do was play it straight instead of trying to make le edgy The Office knockoff. That's what we came to see. That's what we came to the MOVIE to see. That's what made the movie fun to watch. That was the whole POINT OF THE MOVIE.
So yeah.
Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to stop writing for a while and seriously consider their life choices.

>Piggy and Kermit "aren't together in real life"
Wat

let it die and stop trying to market it to nostalgic adults.

as a huge Muppet fan I have sadly excepted this.

Favorite muppet movies/eps?

The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and A Muppet Christmas Carol for me.Michael Caine is still my favorite scrooge ever.

shouldn´t have tried to politicize it with Trump Jokes and other left-wing nonsense

I grew up with the Muppet Show in the 1970s. Sam the Eagle was a riot but my absolute favourite was the Muppet News Flash guy and skits. I still get a laugh watching that.

Who is your number one Scrooge?

Yeah, it's never going to be The Muppet Show/Jim Henson Hour/etc ever again. The Muppets aren't for the people who grew up with them anymore.

I still enjoyed the two new movies, but the show was just okay in its best points and I don't know that trying to return to the variety show format would bring back that old magic again.

Muppet Movie, Jim Henson Hour and the second season of The Muppet Show (Steve Martin, George Burns and basically every great ep of the show).

hire the original Kermit voice actor

>The Muppet Channel
>The Muppets are running their own channel with Kermit the Frog as the stressed out frog in charge
>Each character gets his own show
>Miss Piggy has her talk show
>Fozzie has a crappy Seinfeld-like sitcom
>Gonzo performs daredevil feats on his show
>Sweetums on the Street has the giant muppet talk to people on the streets of LA
>The Swedish Chef and Bunson and Beeker get their own shows too

A new Cashmere Ramada sex tape.

>Teeth Vee: The Electric Mayhem's very own music show, where they interview/perform with musicians
>Sam The Eagle hosts a documentary serious about American history/culture

I would be legitimately excited for these. Sam had some of the best dead pan moments. And the Electric Mayhem were always great.

By sticking to the format that made it so popular in the first place.

The Vaudeville styled format was popular because it was nostalgic for many who grew up and worked in it and also because of Jim Henson and the love he put into it. You can't just recreate something and expect it to have the same results as it did decades ago, the movie was it's way of saying goodbye to that era of the Muppets.

this actually sounds really fucking neat. definitely something that i would watch.

A ms. Piggy centerfold scoop.

Is this bait?

-Get rid of the 30 Rock/The Office plagiarism
-Avoid relationshit drama
-Focus on Muppets people actually care about instead of Rizzy and Pepe all the time.

Official Ms. Piggy hardcore pornography.

Trips confirm this!

>It'll look like that one scene in Team America except with muppets

And once again we are steering straight into the gutter.
What a bunch of pervs you are.

>The scoop is that people still buy centerfold mags
>No one pays attention to ms.Piggy

I want to see a late night talk show parody starring the Muppets, like Muppets Tonight only not as boring.

Voodoo magic to make Jim Henson and Jerry Juhl rise from the dead

Something like that "No You Shut Up" show?

just do it like the original: a family-friendly take on saturday night live

Have the old show on reruns, maybe. Don't need to keep the franchise alive through forcing new shit that nobody's inspired to make.

No matter what you do to revive it, you "Newhart" that abomination - it was all Kermit's nightmare.

Who he wakes up with is the focus of the new show.

>How would you save the Muppets?

"I would make it more like the old show."

"But the old show wasn't good, either."

"Oh right, I forgot."

>-Focus on Muppets people actually care about instead of Rizzy and Pepe all the time.

Can't really be helped. Steve Whitmire inherited the throne after Jim Henson died, so he's pretty much been forcing his shitty original Muppets on audiences since the early 90s even though nobody likes them.

At least he's finally given up on pic related, but not before that little fucker ruined Muppet Babies, Muppets Tonight and Muppet Vision 3D.

"The most important thing is to go back to what worked in the first show"

"And what was that?"

"That it was finally off the air!"

Pepe is Bill Barretta's character.

I think the focus on crappy later Muppets like Rizzo and Pepe is a leftover from the old rule that all characters must be retired when a Muppeteer dies.

That's why there was that drought where Rowlf and Scooter and Dr. Teeth and a bunch didn't appear for a decade. So instead we were stuck with Bean Bunny and Pepe with only Frank Oz's and Dave Goelz's Muppets around (Kermit was an exception because Whitmire was being trained to replace Henson as him before he died).

Disney finally killed that tradition when they bought the Muppets, but I think the effects are still being felt with Pepe and Rizzo still hanging around so much.

what are you talking about? the problem here is it was trying to appeal to idiotic modern 20 year olds instead of nostalgic olderfellows
true in general but uh.. no it was canceled before a trump happened.
