Ninja Turtles thread

Ninja Turtles thread.

Now that some time has passed since the Out of the Shadows movie came out. What did you think about it? I think it's somewhat of a shame that the movie did as badly as it did since I think they were starting to go in a better direction.

But let's not only discuss the movie. Bebop and Rocksteady destroys everything recently ended so feel free to talk about that and the rest of the IDW comic. Do you have a favorite character? A favorite artist? Share here and tell us what characters you are hoping to see down the line.

I really like the art of Santoulouco and Bates. But the new Wachter guy is pretty okey so far.

Is there a rundown anywhere of all the different mutants that popued up in that R&B mini? I know Wyrm, and Wingnut and Screwloose. By the way I liked Platinum's design of Wingnut more. The IDW comic is still the best iteration out of everything that's out. I just wish the new G.I. Joe book had caught on like TMNT and Transformers has.

I haven't seen the movie yet. I'll probably wait until it hits the web.

I'm still digging the cartoon and am eagerly anticipating what they do with Usagi.

Is it official that Usagi will show up?

I looked into it myself and I couldn't find anything about it so I'm assuming that user was hoping for it to happen.

I think that IDW Shredder might be the best Shredder we've had so far.

easily my least favorite idw tmnt artist.

Wait what? Could you elaborate what it is you don't like about his art? I'm curious. Is it all of the art or just the way he does the turtles that bother you?

where is Donatello?

they look too young and babyish. the way their snouts stick out so far is also distracting.

Wasn't he in Metalhead's body at the time?

Hmmm his older TMNT art didn't really have that but I suppose he did go through an evolution in his art.

I honestly really liked the Out of the Shadows movie. It was dumb fun and seemed to fix so many issues I had that kept me from watching the first one, from the Foot being actual Ninjas to Oroku Saki being a damn character to the turtles being a lot more charming. Even Megan Fox's April was okay.

And of course, Bebop and Rocksteady were entirely perfect.

Not liking based Santolouco. Kill yourself already you Marvel reader.

I did like Bebop and Rocksteady but how many times did they say "My man!" Like 10 times? But I suppose being slightly annoying is in character for them.

Mikey looks like he's in a wind tunnel

try not to hurt yourself with that edge

Also the movie lead me to buying several of the comics while they were on sale and then downloading the rest and getting a subscription.
That comic.
Holy shit.
Like there so many things that shocked me, like Baxter being REALLY REALLY wicked or the Hun being Casey's father.

Also I kinda waifu Koya. Full homo.

You must be 18 to post here.

Well she is a beautiful bird. Thoguh I personally prefer Alopex.

and human, you spider

Being obnoxious is what they do. Also, goddamn were those two basically married.

Casey Jones was forgettable tho, as in I literally forgot about him until now.

Alopex is cool, but I like a girl with big meaty claws.

And having him be a cop for no reason. Also, Krang and Shredder didn't really have enough screentime. Maybe they should have taken out Casey and inserted more of them. It was nice however that we got Baxter, Casey, Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang in one movie. Though it could have been handled better.

Agree to all of this.
Would love to have seen this Shredder fight the turtles, but I guess it might have been difficult to do without the stupid power armor since, while slimmed down from the first movie, they're still built like brick shit houses.

>Is there a rundown anywhere of all the different mutants that popued up in that R&B mini? I know Wyrm, and Wingnut and Screwloose.

TMNT Entity's reviews identified all the mutants. It was

>Wingnut
>Screwloose
>Scumbug (not Wyrm)
>Angleron
>Soakorr

Those last two are hyper obscure; they were only in a production pitch for a Mighty Mutanimals cartoon that didn't get picked up.

Are all of the IDW titles getting put in trade form?
also I want to get caught up, Last time I read it they were all in red bandannas still and some autist on Sup Forums was recoloring them.

Yeah, everything gets collected.

Go with the TMNT: IDW Collection hardcovers. It puts all the minis and oneshots in chronological sequence with the ongoing issues. Otherwise you'll have to switch back and forth between trades to read a coherent story (and the minis and oneshots aren't skippable, especially during City Fall).

Well most of them are but not everything since it's still ongoing. They did get the colored bandanas in like issue 4 or 5 I think?

So since we're talking about the comic and Bebop and Rocksteady so much, how's about a random storytime?

...

...

Go for it. It's one of the best if not the best mini.

...

I agree. For awhile, the series seemed almost two serious. Then there came these chuckleheads.

Since we're talking so much about the comic, how about a random storytime. And since we're talking about Bebop and Rocksteady so much, well, why not them?

...

I dunno how that text got there.

That bottom panel is TERRIFYING.

This and the third Turtles in Time comic is probably the best looking IDW TMNT comic. Ben Bates needs to do more stuff. B&R DE was such a tease when it came to his artwork.

Making it absolutely perfect.

Thankful that IDW had the guts to introduce actual female mutants that are original characters and not just slapping a mutation on an established character. TMNT has always shied away from any female character that isn't April (Venus doesn't count) and I'm glad that's being rectified.

Yeah, that cartoon is awful about female characters in general.
Bless IDW.

So was the Mirage series. And the Archie series. And the original cartoon. And the 2003 cartoon.

Basically IDW is the first time in the franchise's history we're getting some female characters of any note.

Get lost SJW.

The original cartoon had Irma. I forgive everything.

Irma was a shitty character though.

...

Ninjara was alright. I mean, yeah she was Raph's girlfriend and all, but still she had her own stuff going on.

I never watched the 2003 series tho, heard good things on Sup Forums.

You sure that's a female? And no, "transgender" doesn't count.

Different user, wasn't Ninjara the writer's furry waifu and when TMNT folded he put her in a bunch of furry porn comics?

Birbs don't have tits, you simple minded pleb casual hipster.

I see nothing wrong with any of this, if true.

Bebop and Rocksteady Destroys Everything is such a fucking mess. Why are half the minis such convoluted clusterfucks? It's like they find all the weirdest parts of TMNT's history and then just jam them together with no sense of coherence or consequence.

Does the Bebop and Rocksteady mini fit anywhere in continuity? Because I'm one of those asshats who's reading the book for fun and for the sake of a rigid timeline structure

>Bebop and Rocksteady Destroys Everything is such a fucking mess.
It was the plan since the beginning. What part of "Destroy Everything" don't you understand?

I wish there was more art where the turtles looked more like actual turtles

This came from Greg Cipes' Twitter. Usagi and Jei can be seen in the promo image.

I don't do "character shipping" at all, but Alopex and Ralph are kind of cute together

>Ralph
Everytime.

Too bad the female characters in IDW are mostly sort of boring, They aren't very weird, their personalities are all sort of the same troubled warrior.

The comics timeline can be hard to keep track of, so I don't:

Well Karai is a warrior who really wants to make the Foot Great Again, Alopex is Looking For a Place, and (at least where I'm at) Koya just wants to fuck dudes up.

Karai is actually the only one I think is interesting, and I think she's one of the best iterations Karai's had. Alopex, Koya, that lion mutant, Nobody, they're all dull and inoffensive. Characters like Renet and that demon CEO are a little different but they're also flat characters without much going on.

I have only seen Pride in a storytime a ways back before I got into the series proper, so I can't speak about her other than to say that with that haircup and name I will pretend to be surprised when she's shown to have the gays.

I like Alopex for her complexity and her fierceness and Koya for her ruthlessness and I love both of their designs, but that's me.

Have an Alopex storytime, because.

Alopex feels like a dime a dozen furry waifu in a series that has done that before. Koya and her shark friend are just boring on their own, fine for a one shot threat but absolutely not worth the recurring focus they keep getting.

...

...

More like a diamond dozen.

But hey, opinions!

...

>Big
>Fluffy
>Thighs

I think it always seems worse in the 2012 cartoon because that one makes April so damn plot important and 'special' ti makes her seem like she's hogging a spotlight.

was kinda weird seeing that episode where Karai beats the crap out of April out of order after knowing a lot of later turns with her. the episode itslef felt liek a 'power check' moment almost, like trying to establish April isn't actually that strong even against real warriors, but then I just remember the immune to mutation magic blood mind power shit and just think ''welp that effort was wasted.'

You're a chick??

Don't forget dat tail.
