explain to me the concept of "comfort food"

sausage and eggs.good choice my friend

simplistic food but still nice to eat after a day of work

There might be a better definition out there, but for me it means something, usually simple, that you have a deep and long relationship with. Something you have eaten in your childhood and have warm and good feelings with.

Wrong.

alright, here

Wowowow, I didn't know that was an option!

By all means what's your alternative? Baked beans and black pudding?

unironically this

Bombas de papa y queso

They are goat tier

This is missing

blood sausage is really nice, but a lot of younger people have never tried it and mostly probably never will

There are so much variety. I think the Bloodpudding is the easiest to eat. But might not like sausage. Pic related.

Filled potato?

The kind you cut into slices and fry yourself is basically the only one that exist here, sadly

I'll trade you one of your better porter/stout recipes in exchange for my Aunt Nina's salsa recipe. Deal?

Pea stew. It's common to see goulash guns (aka field kitchens) at more old fashioned public events like classic car meets or marksmen festivals, and the most traditional meal to serve from them is piping hot pea stew. Ideally it'll be really thick and mushy and be served with a Bockwurst sausage.

macaroni casserole
I have it in my fridge right now

B-but we call them "milanesas" like from Milan..

makaronilaatikko in Finnish
casserole foods in general are popular in Finland

We have a lot but Causa is my all-time favorite

oden: stew of fish cakes, eggs, radish, octopus, sea weed, etc
available in many convenience stores and pubs
cheap and popular food during winter but not exactly clean

It seems like you just put food in steaming water, why is that?

its buttered
the butter has melted into the bread

Same is Russia, I eat this for every breakfast. Also close to 100% of Russians consume rye bread daily and about 90% of the time typical lunch is some kind of soup.

Do people actually eat this (as in more than once a year) or is it just a meme?

>canada's greatest dish
>a sauce you pour on fries

WOW DUDE

People eat it a lot, every restaraunt and fast food place sells it

paprikás krumpli is the go-to "I have no money but I must eat" food here
all you need is some sausage, potatoes, onions and powdered paprika

it's low on calories but at the same time rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and it also helps with your digestion

Where did anyone say "greatest dish?" It's a thread about comfy food people actually eat regularly in our countries.

>tfw you always had great langos at the local town festival and you thought langos would always taste great but you had langos somewhere else recently and it was rather bad
The oil has to sizzle when you throw it in, right? Because theirs was barely luke warm. Should've become suspicious when it was sold by a fat German woman in a pink sweatsuit and not by some Hungarians.

wtf

>I really want an excuse to eat garlic butter
>hmm why don't we put it on snails?
>piere, you are of genius! yet again la france takes civilization to new heights!

It's actually really good.

is it a dessert?

yeah it needs to be hot af
also its possible that you bought a stale lángos. it attracts water relatively fast after you pick it out from the oil.

i thought it was hummus on first sight, but i can figure wat this is OwO

what is it? something sweet?

ground up beef paste with wheat. very healthy and tastes better than you think it would.

Nah, I saw it being prepared, but it just didn't sizzle, the oil was just very warm, not hot. Took a long time and ended up tasting very oily and soggy.
