>in the 90s, Carnage was portrayed as a native New Yorker, with an appropriate accent in voiced media, with a love of heavy metal and violence, of a suggested Scottish-Irish heritage(hence the name "Cletus" and his red hair)
>in the modern AXIS story, he was a fucking redneck with conservative views, a love of the confederate flag, and a fan of country music, because his name is "Cletus" which means he must be a redneck

One of many reasons I hate modern Marvel.

Cletus was best Carnage

The country one

He still loves Metal.

What do you expect a bunch of self hating liberal New Yorkers to characterize someone named Cletus as

As a kid in the 90s, I don't remember Cletus being a New Yorker.

Meanwhile, reading the current Carnage series, he mentions being from Brooklyn, and never says anything about being Southern.

Go outside and take a breather man

redneck carnage is great tho

What happens next?
Isn't his bottom half like, not there?

If they were "self hating" they'd make him a New Yorker.

In his very first story, Peter visitis the orphanage where Cletus was dropped off as a baby. It's in new york

>Scott Ian saves the day
My kind of story.

Symbiote freaking out while Cletus is fanboying is my favorite part.

Marvel writers apparently have to do research out of their own pocket as Marvel doesn't provide anything to them.

Marvel is cheap, and the writers are lazy faggots.

Didn't Cletus complain his father was abusive in a recent issue? Was that an adoptive parent?

>muh symbiote

>the violent heavy metal psychopath is okay, but gol'darned if I let them insult the south
what's next, the new carnage grew up on a lot of violent video games?
get over it, it's just background

>Marvel writers apparently have to do research out of their own pocket

You mean, like, go on wikipedia?

I think he killed his parents. He was a serial killer even before the symbiote.

He was an internet troll. I hope he still is.

Pretty sure that was in axis carnage, which also made it very clear that Cletus's memories are completely fucked.

Even that is too much for them.

He doesn't give a shit about that, he's pointing out that new writers don't do any research on characters any more and just write a bunch of contradictory shit.

ITT: Rednecks

Looks like Carnage is... Caught in a mooooooooOOOOSSSSSSSH!

Good thing Marvel Infinite is $7.

I LOVED The Incredible Carnage-Man! him trying to be a hero was the most enjoyable thing I have seen from Marvel in years.

Comic book writers are fucking morons and don't give a shit about what was written before them, and would rather try to crap up something that outshines the work that was done before.

So like every other job in America then?

>he was listening to Motley Crue tapes in his first appearance

forgot pic

I was going to say that 1991 was past Motley Crue's prime, but apparently they put out a best-of compilation that year that peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 so I guess it works.

post sw marvel, you can avoid this. Rick Redeemer really doesn't care about about canon.

New Yorker's are pussies. they decided to actually make him scary, so they made him come from a apart of the country that still has it's balls. the fact that you're crying over where a comic character is from should let you know why nobody takes your city and it's inhabitants seriously anymore.

The very first comic I ever bought had Carnage infect Silver Surfer in a Spiderman book.

Anyone ever read it?

Here in the UK they package like 2/3 issues together at once.

yeah, and they never explained how he got out of the surfers silver entrapment.

>new writers don't do any research on characters any more and just write a bunch of contradictory shit.
>there has never ever been a person, even a redneck, from the south named cletus

The Carnage Cosmic

that shit was bonkers.

>he thinks Cletus was turned into a redneck in Axis
Wew laddie, how new are ye? Carnage has been a hillbilly for more than 10 years now. What are you so upset about?

I distinictly remember thinking it was weird Spider-man had armpit webs when I was a kid.

If by 10 you mean 5. It all started when Peter called Carnage a "sick hillbilly" in that Zeb Wells mini. Bunn ignored it for Minimum Carnage and vs Deadpool, but Remender went crazy with it during AXIS, and it was also ignored in the AXIS Carnage mini.

Why? Spider-man's web-pits were part of his classic original design.

Being wrong for 10 years is still being wrong.

My only exposure to Spidey to that point was the RADIOCATIVE SPIDER BLOOD cartoon and ps1 games

Also I did not know the original suit had web pits. Wow I'm such a casual.

>for more than 10 years now.

I assume you work for Marvel because you don't read your comics

For some reason I figured Carnage Family Feud and USA were from 2004, hot damn was I wrong by eight fucking years!, 2012 is when Peter called Cletus a hillbilly in Family Feud. I hereby stand corrected.

No you dipshit, he means they were writing him as if he were southern despite him being from New York.

i vastly prefer the web pits being just black weblines like on the red and fully transparent compared to the white ones.

>and ps1 games

I'M ALREADY AT FULL HEALTH

Bullshit. Marvel writers get whatever issues they want sent to them in PDFs.

Webless Spider-Man Best Spider-Man.

FIGHT ME OVER IT

Then and Now

Man I am so fucking hyped for this game, I really want it to be good

You think thats a problem OP? Black cat met Carnage during Maximun Carnage, but when the Venom/Carnage mini (the one with Toxin) they both act and talk like they've never seen eachother before.

Why did they feel the need to change the costume in such a shitty way.

>when the reporter betrays him and he's just confused because she had said good people don't break promises
Never thought I'd feel bad for Carnage

The big white spider symbols and the white on his hands are meant to help you track his gameplay motion easier. As for the rest, beats me, but it's close enough to the classic design that it doesn't bother me.

What's wrong with rednecks? We don't get enough representation.

I always thought that Cletus looks a lot like 80s-era Danny Elfman and I can't shake that thought no matter how hard I try.

I-I-I LOVE LITTLE GIRLS

>windtunnel
I still have PTSD.

>Mysterio on PC

The hardest fucking thing ever

90s Carnage was edgy venom for edgy kids. Symbiotes are terrible in general and have ruined Spider-man, hence there haven't been any good Spider-man stories post 80s.
