Le kino amirite fellow 4channers?

...

This but only unironically.

Bay is a true artist. The CGI from the first one is still as good today as it was then. Avatar has aged poorly in comparison.

You think that's kino? Just you wait

I really liked the cinematography in this flick, it was better than any other TF, you can actually see stuffs on screen and the camera DOESNT FUCKING MOVE this time, pretty sad that the critics didnt even bother mentioning that.

Yeah I've seen a bunch of reviews shitting on it that don't even mention the effects, OST, or cinematography, all of which were great

OST was Marvel tier honestly famalam, but some of them had bits of previous TF OST which was cool but still lazy.

I understand that Megatron would call himself Megatron again because Galvatron was the name Stanley Tucci gave him, but what happened to his power to turn into a flurry of poorly rendered CGI blocks and why does he have tusks now?

Is the Allspark still canon? If it is, why did it take so long for Bumblebee to find the Spark and why was he fighting the Nazis? Who was that one Autobot who transformed into a WWI tank and why did he fight in WWI?

If Merlin was buried beneath the sea in the Knight's ship, how did the talisman get in the hands of the one Knight who gave it to Mark Wahlberg in the beginning? Obviously he came from space so somehow the talisman was given to at least one Knight who brought it back for no reason.

What happened to the organic creators of the Transformers revealed in the previous film? How come Optimus knew about their existence but not the existence of Unicron?

Quintessa's plan to fuse Cybertron with Earth to rebuild Cybertron was basically the same plan as Sentinel's in Dark of the Moon only without using humans for slave labor. Did Sentinel know about Quintessa and was working for her? Obviously Dark of the Moon is still canon since the ship is shown being destroyed in a scene.

The pyramid that was half-destroyed in Revenge of the Fallen is also destroyed by Cybertron in this so if Quintessa made the Primes did she tell the Primes to go to Earth to harvest its sun? For what purpose if Cybertron was not yet destroyed?

The answer to all these questions is that the screenwriters give a fuck about the story but its still fun to make them up

Nah

That's because Bays effects haven't improved at all.

The Pest

They have though. The CG in TLK is the best out of all the Transformers movies

Transformateurs: Le Dernier Chevalier

It looked fake as hell dude

>The CG in TLK is the best

...

Yup

>extended cut
>it's already 3 hours long
Please tell me this isn't real, the shit's too long to get through already.

Still better than BvS.

>Is the Allspark still canon? If it is, why did it take so long for Bumblebee to find the Spark
This right here. They fucked up the entire lore and mystery of Transformers because of this.
That random as fuck scene of Bumblee killing Nazis was hilarious though.

>Undisputable

so you are a retard, got it

>3 hours

It's 2h 28m

Still too long for my tastes. That said, I'll excuse it if there's more action and bot scenes compared to previous films. Does TLK deliver on that at least?

There's a long stretch of exposition with Hopkins in the middle but other than that its pretty much start to finish action with some small comedy bits sprinkled a bit

Bay's comedy is never that great but there's a great scene where Hopkins starts kicking people out of a museum and is yelling at them

That's nice to hear at least. Critics are saying this is his absolute worst but from here and people I know it seems like it's the best since the first. I'm kinda sad that the future films won't have Bay's technique behind action scenes. One scene I saw from a camrip on Youtube had Optimus doing some Dark Souls tier shit that looked incredible. I doubt we'll see more of that.

was galahan in it in some form? as a robot or whatever?

>have to wait till july 20 for the movie to be on cinema here
REEEEEEEEEEEE

Because they were already good enough so they didn't have to improve.

So is Hot Rod just another autobot taking a backseat to prime and bumblebee?

The soundtrack is already out
youtube.com/watch?v=4df74U4vaOI

he offers a mildly adequate amount of help throughout the movie & final battle, and has a couple cool scenes, just like crosshairs, drift, and hound. also had an amusing intro

Also he can

STOP THE TIME

He says that a lot

Couldve been perfect, but needed more transformations and uncut fighting

There was an unusual short and unsatisfying amount of the 3 headed dragon. Nonetheless still great sequences.

Was honestly surprised they pulled the earth is Unicron bit and making the quintesson a single person with no multiple personalities.

Havent watched it yet, but does unicron actually appear or only mentioned as earth in this movie?

I didn't realize Anthony Hopkins has stooped so low.

>> Ultron on the right

Just mentioned a lot. You see the "horns" though

Can't wait for the BD rip so I can screencap those nice scenery shots. Bay knows his scenery porn.

They shat so hard on previous films it's not even funny.

It is implied that Megatron is under the control of Quintessa. He has the same red markings on his face that Prime has during his period of mind control so it's not unreasonable to assume that she modified him.

Bumblebee may have been on earth searching for the cube for centuries. I don't see any issue with this.

The talisman part is definitely confusing but I believe the knight was not one of the 12 and arrived from space seeking his buddies or some such shit.

Prime knew of unicron. He just did not know that earth was unicron. With regard to the creators, its likely that they were originally going with a more traditional quintesson design before changing to the design in 5.

No idea on the other stuff

The movie was a wreck

It felt a bit too long. Should have cut 15-20 minutes of it.

Too many unnecessary characters. Izabella and her bike transformer should not have been in it. John Turturro's cameo was way too long.

Many new and old Decepticons are introduced, but most of them are killed off quickly. Some of their fates are left unknown. They tried to give the decepticons more personalities but they only talk about killing and destroying things.

Megatron's part felt unneeded. He was just another pawn, again.

There should have been more focus on Optimus Prime (or Nemesis Prime) being evil. He's only like that for about 10 minutes, and turns good because he hears Bumblebee's real voice. He should have been the main villain in the story, while Quintessa is the one manipulating him from the shadows.

There was too much comedy, and most of it was forced, and came from Anthony Hopkins being random, Mark Wahlberg and Haddock being snappy at each other.

Hot Rod talking with a ugly French accent...

Hound, Drift, and Crosshairs don't appear much.

Humans take down Transformers too easily with just machineguns and get close to them easily to attach explosives.

Unicron's name and existence was revealed in the middle of the movie. Judging by the extra credits scene, the revelation was meant to happen then. Stupid decision to mention it earlier.

Agreed. It's like they had a really cool story to go off (Arthurian legend coupled with Nemesis Prime) but they botched it all because they needed their checklist scenes of humor and Bumblebee wanking.

If this film was actually about Prime coming to Earth and wrecking both Auto and Decepticon ass to find the Talisman as Arthur's legend is revealed, it would've been so much cooler.

The production values were crazy good though.

Drift and Crosshairs literally disappear in the last battle too.

Like, they are there then they are GONE and they don't come back.

Crosshairs is there. Drift isn't as he is flying the spaceship (he says earlier that "I'm driving)

>absolutely gorgeous lighting that puts Terrence Malick to shame
>breathtaking visuals and photography
>flawless soundmixing
>as the film progresses, Bay abandons both dialogue and narrative structure in favour of an almost sixty minutes long, tour de force action scene that satturates the senses to the utter limit
>universally despised by feeble-minded critics

Alas, humankind is not yet ready for transcendent kino!

Is this real? I could while watching it that there was loads cut out (Despite already being way too long)
