Lets talk a little about Pre-School Animation. Peppa pig In particular.

For those unaware, Peppa Pig is popular british cartoon that is extremely popular in several countries. Not much in the United States, but at least in my country is more popular than Minions.

The cartoon is harmless, apart from the fact I would prefer that the children at school where I work used their time to watch programs with a more educational content. No, I do not say that the cartoon is bad for children. All cartoon aimed to little children have to be clean and simple so that they can understand and be invested (Pre-School Animation is the genre that seems to never change over time). But then the question, what can make a Preschool cartoon a hit?

Peppa don't seems to have anything unique in their own right. The colors are dull. The show has no catchy music, texts or catchphrases to children repeat. The animation makes Homestar Runner looks like disney. But if the cartoon does not do anything different from what several others already did, why kids just want to watch this? No factor related to gestalt, child psychology, publicity or design, just three minutes of a talking pig. Even Teletubbies led a team of psychologists and designers to decide what children would like.

Maybe it's because it is simple? But it is simpler than other cartoons? Or is a new level of simple, where all the factors work for his own simplicity?

it's all just viewbotting

It's big enough here in Australia that when they were talking about cutting the ABCs funding a major question in Parliament was how would this affect Peppa pig

Is Peppa Pig funny or something? My dad asked me if I like it and I still don't know if it was a joke

The spider episode was a real thing?

No, there's no jokes is the show, just the everyday life of a middle class family of pigs

It's a dumb show with pigs that have dick and balls for heads and it's for babies, kids and autists

...

I'll have to give it a try then someday, sounds like my kind of show

nice fucking try kid but we all know the superior pre-school cartoon

What the fuck are you talking about user?

Peppa Pig annoys me for some reason. I honestly prefer this kids show. youtu.be/uf_nzhxuyNc

What I want to know is why paw patrol is so popular the characters are fucking idiots.

Furfags

Shit yeah Sarah and Duck motherfucker

Thomas the original series is dark as fuck at times.

Gordon doesn't want to get wet so they BRICK HIM INTO A TUNNEL STILL ALIVE.

AND END THE EPISODE SAYING "HE DESERVED IT".

What

The

Fuck.

I recall watching a clip where Peppa calls her friend to complain about not being able to whistle. The friend whistles and Peppa has the thousand yard stare.
That was pretty funny and admittedly funnier than most "funny" cartoons manage to be.
Apart from that, I only know the "favourite music" clip (though I still haven't found out to this day what the original music is).

In my country Peppa Pig is a big meme.
Everybody knows it and likes it "ironically". I think it's fun because of all the memes related to it.

It's pretty stupid and cancer but, still, is fun.

For example, pic related.

God I hate Peppa. I remember seeing it with my nephew several years ago and thinking it was terrible. No idea why its getting popular now.

I also watched it with my nephew and I found it hilarious

I can't explain why. The way it's animated just tickles my funny bone

My nigga

I think its the dogs that each have their own scheme, also the overall rescue theme.

Dude, that was Henry

>Even Teletubbies led a team of psychologists and designers to decide what children would like.
...And that was a mistake.

it didn't seem to hurt

i like peppa cause she roast her dad everytime cause he's fucking fat

It was henry and they let him out in a later episode.

My niece likes it. My mom loves it more than her I think, she says because she likes how they're laughing all the time and how simple and happy it is or something. She's put it on without my niece around while having a few beers, it's her little guilty pleasure. She has a hard-on for british things too so maybe the accents are part of it

It's the charm I guess

I have watched many hours of peppa together with my two nieces and I (also) dislike it for its poor drawing and musical quality. Probably because I grew up with TV media which I even today regard as a product of overall good craftsmanship.

It is a show for the very young. When my first niece became four years old she already did not seek to watch peppa anymore. However my two year old second niece now likes it a lot, sings and talks along.

I think the very young as well as parents like it because of the many repetitions of pronounciations it has. I got the feeling that children like this show because it gives them some kind of mental challenge they feel they can compete against and succeed and therefor feel great about themselves.

The show got big, because the mindless self-indulgent, self-centered and helpless faggot parents from nowadays are to lazy and passionless to hold up againt mass media anymore and have to succumb to what their children tell them about pre-kindergarden, kindergarden and pre-school and therefor have to buy peppa stuff.

Still I feel the show has nothing I cannot teach my nieces myself. I am dissappointed in society and media to have made such as teletubbies, peppa or the likes, because children instictively feel/know how their parents feel about things. Furthermore, when my nieces visit me, we spend time in my garden, go to the zoo or the aquarium, go swimming or play whatever together. As young as they are, they even don't go to school yet, I strongly believe that they should not watch TV that much. And I criticize people who 'park' their children in front of the TV and let them watch peppa and actually believe this could teach them more than real life experiences. In fact I cannot recall one time, when one of my nieces actually reproduced even one single thing they were taught in peppa's show.

tl;dr
children THIS young should generally not watch TV and Peppa is a symbol of bad craftsmanship.

My nephew and niece like it, and I gotta admit that's funny.

>tfw ded Jelly Jamm

underrated

Is funny how this show made cgi right

Don't have money for details and animation? Make the design simple

>The cartoon is harmless
Don't you mean HAMLESS? HA!

But that's what you say about every show, user.

We'd never have that problem over here its Dave's favourite show.

But children don't have sexual attraction. That's pretty much what makes them children

All cartoon characters have dick and balls for heads?

In b4 'Peppa Pig is hot!'

Here we go.

Crack and cheese might be nice im tempted to go make some

We're in the wrong universe morty
Eh it's close enough

Doesn't matter. Furries will still watch it if it has dog poon in it.

I only know from a british newspaper that a muslim got triggered by a child singing Pepa's theme song in a bus, he wanted to sue the parents.

greetings, Sup Forums

>"This Egil that you fought is one our people."
>"He is my son."

I WANNA SLAM THAT HAM

Paw patrol is really popular with sluts that think they're super cute and quirky for watching childrens shows and movies.

I know a bunch of girls went as them last year. shits weird.

Peppa Pig is probably popular because it's a long running show (presumably?) and it's popular because families know its something they can trust that wont spring something on them that might challenge their little ones or their beliefs too much like Sesame Street or something.

The Lion Guard counts as a preschool cartoon, but it's not popular at all.

Now that he's leaving office, Peppa's in trouble.

Paw Patrol is awesome. It follows a predictable formula that makes children feel smart, puppies, excitement and jokes and gags the kids like.

good, lets keep it that way

sup, niggers

Porn?

Looking back I think the main reason I think the characters are to stupid was because everybody dropped the ball so hard in the turtle crossing episode

youtu.be/tC7_EKkyeDg

Jelly Jamm and Pocoyo are great examples of animation done right and adopting anime influences without being faux anime.

...

Seriously how did it take them so long to recognise the obvious solutions.

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure the fucking traffic cop stayed behind for a while instead of heading on the mission from the start
