lads, sorry for the offtopic, but does anyone know what this is? I mean, the gray background and the black border, is it some sort of printing error? I've seen it in many comics but never asked what that is. I got my hands on a scaned copy of the killing joke and I'm cleaning it and I don't know whether to leave that mark, it's almost in every colored part, is it because of the printing technique? some sort of Alpha left over or does the author really adds that color?
