Why did trump run? (for libertarians)

Trump is more likely in it to secure the future for his family, so they don't get pillaged, murdered or have to flee America. He can only do this effectively by bringing large demographics of americans with him as he secures his family's future, he can secure a nonpilliaging future for others as well.

If we go even further into a depression, while so many are clamoring for redistribution and welfare, the assets of the rich are fucked, and the productive people will be dragged under too.

You've got to look for the long game with Trump. He's not in it to grab government money. He's already got billions. What would he gain from grabbing more from the coffers?

He's going to fill the supreme court with constitutionalists to protect muh rights. The list of prospects is out there.

It's all long game. Keep worthless eater latinos out, and not citizens. Keep muslims out, and not extreme (as their numbers increase, they get more radical and openly sharia loving). This is general trajectory of America stuff. It's not freedom by libertarian standards, but practical freedoms for the rest of our lives.

He's anti-gun, pro-NSA, pro-eminent domain, and said he wants to kill Snowden for being a traitor. I can't understand why a libertarian would support him, aside from his ability to shitcan Hillary and make progressives terrified of the future.

I heard someone say he owes money to the Russians and is only becoming president so he can nuke them to avoid paying the debt

Trumps entire empire is based on the prosperity of America...He built Skyscrapers. If America becomes a third world country his wealth disappears, his entire legacy is tied directly to the health of the United States

He's also literally the only person not hellbent onto turning us into Brazil. But libertarians (and I say this as a former one myself)have legitimate autism and will bash their head into a wall screaming "NAP" until their little suicide pact comes into fruition and we're living under the inescapable tyranny of little brown leafblower gnomes with an obsession with Marxism.

There is nothing practical with libertarians

>Muh pot, muh guns
>am I being detained?!

I don't think it would ever get that bad, but that doesn't mean it's not a possibility. There's a good argument for Trump for libertarians in swing states but if your state is dedicated red, it's reasonable to vote third party. Even if Johnson's camapaign is a failed abortion, it sheds light on the disenfranchised factions of the GOP, that they should listen to or accept the loss of voters.
If Trump went to his next rally and advocated for even one or two libertarian stances like metadata collection or spoke against the no fly no buy list, Johnson's numbers would take a big hit and Trump would surge.

if they give any fucks about the supreme court picks, one way or the other they should care.
lol
This is exactly what I'm thinking. I don't see this explanation/narrative enough.
Practical libertarianism when? They need to stop being autistic. Even Stephano Molymeme wrote Practical Anarchy. They're better off with the Right and the Christians, then the Left and the Muslims.

...

>muh degenerate horse & doggy porn!
go back to canada

assuming he's going to act on that, and it isn't pandering for VP. Wojak's folks.

He had a picture of his exwife in a bikini in his tacobowl memecrafting. You're not going to prison. Maybe in 8 or 16 years if we go fundamentalist as a nation, but that doesn't seem likely for a slippery slope.

I don't want that to throw the election though. While a would like the "safe" libertarian platforms to get some lipservice from Trump, certainly; I think the peeling off of people to Johnson and Stein is indicative of people not being aware of why the Trump Train is worth riding.

The average voter is pretty super senpai

It won't throw the election in a dedicated state, thank the electoral college for that. Look at Ross Perot and Ralph Nader. It's more of a message sent than anything else.

Ross perot took so much of the vote in NY in 92.

It's insane what kind of damage a popular third party can do.

>"Libertarians"

This is ridiculous. PA could have gone to Bush Sr.

Lets watch the trump campaign crash and bern by encouraging people to vote third party.

>200 million people around that time
>only 7 million vote

wtf america

I think that's only the state of New York

And now we see Ohio. So close, but perot got 20% of the vote.
What message? the next R was Bush jr!
Ausbro, that was just Jew York State, 7million voters there.

Apologies to our non burger friends. I suppose abbreviations and flags are about as useful to you as saying "Queensland" is to me.

people are stupid
what do you expect?
