Is she ever going to put on the costume again? I guess the bubblegum hair is a bit too much.

Maybe she'll get raped into it
That would be an interesting read

Jessica works much better as a character who has ditched the costume.

Shittest of shit characters

She works much better not existing

I can't remember the last time I saw her flying.

...

I actually liked that she actually made peace with her past, and actually ended up a pretty decent (New) Avenger.

Of course, now with the Netflix show, hard-drinking PI in leather-jacket and jeans Jessica is now going to end up her new status quo.

Odd, considering she gave up drinking because she is a mom, and Luke is a full time 'Hero for Hire' again. Ah well, I like her stuff, so will be good to have a Alias ongoing if she is well received in Civil War.

Actually, yeah. Again, likely to put her closer to her Netflix counterpart. Plus, it's hard to be street level when you are a flying brick, so best to tone those elements down.

Well, Danny absorbed the life force of a Dragon, and he's street-level.

It's a decent costume, I wouldn't mind someone else stealing it if Jessica's not going to wear it.

Jewel isn't a bad name either. Someone should steal that too

>Of course, now with the Netflix show, hard-drinking PI in leather-jacket and jeans Jessica is now going to end up her new status quo.

Not as long as Bendis is at Marvel. He's super protective of Cage and jessica's marriage and kid.

I'm kind of glad, it's something good for both characters. He gets to be Power 'Family' Man and grow up a little, and she gets the stability and a decent life. Plus, it's nice to have a 'mom' superheroine who is just a mom, not too much drama involved. It's almost like a good portion of the shit they try to shoehorn into other titles to pander, such as Spider-Woman for example, is stuff Jessica just did before it became a big deal.

Oddly, I bet if she was created in the current Marvel climate, I'd probably dislike her.

You're talking as if JJ was ever independent from the Luke Cage character for any significant amount of time

I honestly don't think she has a strong enough character to do much if she's not with Luke. That's not really a slam against the character as such. But in the comics, she's exorcised her demons, she's not interested in crimefighting, so there isn't much for her to do.

Add to that the fact that she doesn't really bring anything interesting to the table as a solo character anymore. Alias was groundbreaking at the time for its gritty portrayal of the Marvel Universe and a hero who cursed, boozed and fucked. With the loosening standards that have happened since then, that can be pretty much any Marvel title now. Plus there's already characters who have her powers in a more interesting way, and more interesting P.I's.

So yeah, Jessica pretty much has to be with Luke to have an angle in the MU.

>muh too cool for costume like muh husband

Bendis was definitely a mistake

I love the idea of an ex-superhero. And not like, "Oh, Spider-Man quit. But he's Spider-Man, he'll be back in the costume in a bit."

Someone who actually gets out of the business is interesting.

Defenders XXX, when?

She should just become Jewel again. She has no real place in the MU otherwise.

She really only ever existed post-costume. Yeah there are flashbacks but it's not like that was ever who she was.

>She has no real place in the MU otherwise.

That's kinda the point. As Jewel, she is just another (BB)D-rated super heroine. Her 'thing' aside from her baggage is that, when not moonlighting as a new mom and Avenger, she really doesn't see herself as a 'proper' hero.

She is just a normal woman, a Private Investigator, who happens to have powers.

Not even a super hero without a costume like her husband. She has no interest in being a super hero. She just wants to get on with her life. She started to drift away from it with Luke and the Avengers, but with the Netflix show she's back on what made her interesting.

She is still unique in that, and it'll be interesting to see what is done with it.

>it'll be interesting to see what is done with it.
Black Man's cumrag. You severely overestimate her versatility as a character, I mean do you see her doing anything after the Netflix shit became popular almost a year later?

Think about it logically, what place does a superhero who quit have in a superhero comic? No yammering on about potential, what can you do with a character like that on a long term basis?

A FAMILY DRAMA WHERE HER KID GOES TO SCHOOL AND HAS TO STRUGGLE WITH DRUGS

>Damn it, Jessica, we got to get our kid off drugs! Where they even get them drugs in a kindergarten?
>No, black husband. The greatest struggles... can't be solved with punches!

She has another season incoming, and a role in the Defenders. You act like she is already 'done'.

>She works much better not existing

But looking back to that comment, it's kinda clear you wouldn't be swayed by anything positive I have to say.

What can they do with her, though? More of what they did in Alias, such as looking for missing supers, dealing with the more shady and street based side of a world with powers. The very same appeal that Alias and NYX both held. It will just depend on the writers.

So she is going to do all of that as a mother who is married to a superhero who does things extremely similar to that but not as a superhero herself, is this what you are saying?

Nobody is going to give a damn about that except for Bendis, who I might add has made her a snarky housewife for the past ten years once he was done with Powers but with Marvel guys and stuff

>Misty Stone as Misty Knight, and a random white make pornstar as Iron Fist.

How did she gain a supermodel body when she became Jewel when she was dumpy and average before that as Jessica?

Artist change?

>Jewel isn't a bad name either. Someone should steal that too
But that sounds like a stripper name
A really slutty stripper
