I have the willykit one

These are the cancelled 6 inch figures m8
Bigger, more detailed, more articulation

Yours is the dinky 4 inch one

well you could write what the fuck are you talking about first tho.

it says cancelled right in the filename dipshit

I really really want this.

we'll never have it

still not really good enough. the designers on these really are incompetent.
i really want a GOOD wilykit figure.

As a /toy/fag who waifued Wilykit pretty hard this picture makes me sad.

it is a real pain in the ass that good shows keep getting canceled because they dont sell toys, but the toys are shit or worse they don't exist.
that's not the show's fault! they did their DAMNEDest to make us want toys. it's pretty fucking clear who didnt pick up their end on this one.

>hot glue never

3d printing is a thing user.

Become a 3d modeler, print the individual pieces. $500 is a cheap investment for being able to make your own action figures.

Yeah, I'm sick of "Five points of articulation" crap. Why do execs think that hips, shoulders. and Neck is acceptable in this day and age? We've had GI Joe since the 80's! that should be your minimum standard for articulation

that would be true if not for the requirement that the plastic be soft and shitty

the sad thing is the most recent generation actually thinks kids WANT shitty simple crap. if you look at transformers from the last couple years, compared to the HUGE strides they made in the years prior. they're back to one-step bricks

Use it for prototyping, then make molds from the prototypes and resin-cast. Christ, it's like i have to think of everything for you.

America isn't competent enough at figure making to be trying anymore.

I want to fuck that cat.

ITT: Pedofurs

I never asked for this. It was just shoved in my face.

resin's even worse! and have you tried that? fucking bubbles everywhere, only one in four, MAYBE one in three come out okay.. and the molds are only good for like five uses.

she's ready
which is fine, cmon japan do this for us

You're just stating the obvious, if you want more (you)s you have to say something like "filthy pedo scum get the heck out of MY board"

these aren't even well designed characters.

it looks as if they misinterpreted the crest of hair at the bottom of her hair as two side-fins of hair..
whatever i'd still have bought it.. repainted it a bit to fix the missing trim.. well i would if paint was easier to find in colors you want..

Would you give Kit the barbs, Sup Forums?

...

As a semi-pro model builder, that's a poor excuse. Learn to use the right products and methods and you shouldn't have any problems you haven't already solved 5 steps before.

yeah but best case scenario you still have resin, not proper plastic. shit's gonna break like a goddamn candle. i'm just sayin, man.

also if youre a semi pro, can you explain to me how people cut through plastic with a hobby knife? i mean yeah it's sharp but it's not serrated, so sawing back and forth doesn't work. you can keep scoring and scoring the same spot and hope someday it cuts through, but it doesn't. not on plastic that's hard enough to be worth a damn.

I remember buying Star Wars figures in the 90's compared to the ones that were coming out during the Prequels. The 90's ones had shoulder, hip, and leg articulation and that was back then (the sculpts were about as good as today, too). The figures coming out in the early-mid 00's had wrist, elbow, shoulder, neck, chest, hip, leg, knee and foot articulation (some of those were ball joint, even), and the sculpts were really good (or at least for only costing about $8).
Those 6'' Star Wars figures from ten years back are of almost the same quality as the Star Wars Black sets from today, which cost $50 despite only being 2 inches taller and having slightly more texture to the clothing.
How did this happen, where what used to be the base standard of quality in action figures is now considered the high-end deluxe alternative?

Acrylic Plastic Cutter

Wilykit a cute

for a while, plastic costs skyrocketed. the same pressures that took GI joe from barbie-scale down to 'tiniest action figures around' had no further outlet really. nowhere else to go.
still, each manufacturer is different. playmates gives no fucks about scale, doesn't understand how to make articulation useful, and generally sculpts everything in an actiony pose that it is now unable to get out of.. that and terrible gimmicks, and it's amazing they've been in business long enough to get to the point where they're now actively worse than ever (leaving out tons of vital paint apps on each figure)
but they're artisans compared to jakks pacific, who thinks it's okay to build spindly-limbed characters like from adventure time or sonic out of the plastic equivalent of biscotti.

is this kenner you're talking about, in both cases? because i haven't seen much from kenner in some time, it might be that the rights have changed hands

but when you look at takara tomy you can see the real changes over a long period working on similar products.

They realized they could get away with selling the standard as premium, and peddle shlock as the base version.
Toy companies basically took a page from the EA playbook, sell the full thing as premium, like you're doing them a favor, even though the same thing was either:1.Previously sold in its whole form in the past as base model, And/Or 2. Is still made by other companies in its full regular form.
It's brilliantly unethical.

i knew it!!
okay that and a small dremel drill and i'll be ready.. someday. so many spare parts.. i know i'll be a model customizer.. someday.. so many ideas.. fuckers telling me an x-acto and a pin vise would be enough.. i knew they were wrong.

hell most toy companies i'd THANK them to do that. they refuse to even HAVE tiers, as if they're some kind of rabid net neutrality protestors.
they cram everything into one rank. one size class. one level of paint application. nevermind you're adapting a tv show or whatever, so accuracy should be the #1 priority.. they bend over fucking backwards to force that shitty stalinesque conformity and put everything in a box.

I'd gladly take fewer joints if it means a better sculpt.
Too often I find that joints on lower end toys are ugly as sin and either feel super breaky or won't support its own weight. I mean on something under $10.
As long as the neck, hips, and shoulders move, I'm happy.

the problem there is you might as well have a statch if the movements look terrible and always inappropriate. what's the point of being able to pose something to walk like a 30s movie mummy?

...

...

Still think Wilykit was gonna be revealed via bullshit to be Panthera's reincarnation or somethiCATS HAVE NINE LIVES

...

...

...

oh my.

Seeing how she was the only character who didn't hate Lion-o and spurred him to action against Mumm-ra, the similarities are uncanny.
And the irony of the kid ending up dwarving Lion-o is humorous to me

...

That was the beauty about the Star Wars figures. Because of the armor and ribbed clothing most of the characters wore (or weirdly textured skin in the case of aliens), the joints were easily hidden or meshed naturally with the clothes. In the case of Jedi, they always gave them a cloak which covered up everything unless you took it off.

As for how they hold up, I still have most of my old ones in a box in my attic. Use to play with them all the time, and they're still all in one piece.

The weapons they came with may have been a bit cheap though, I'm not sure. As a kid, dumb as i was, i managed to break a number of the accessories either by stepping on them or slamming them into things too rough. But considering how small they were, i suppose that was bound to happen.

This show is agony for me because it's pilot is literally one of the greatest animated pilots that has been produced in the last 20 years.

It literally has everything: Complex setting lore, mature issues with some degree of nuance, good villains characters teeming with narrative hooks for future development, and material for good intergroup interaction.

It should have written itself, and yet immediately after the pilot the show swerves and plummets so far in quality so quickly that only the destruction of the space shuttle Challenger could possibly outmatch it.

...

Thats a good one

>a GOOD wilykit figure.

What, anatomically correct, with flocked fur, and with fabric clothes that you can take off and put back on...?

Well, if you don't mind old school. There are SDCC 2016 Thunder Cat figures.
>Of course, they are all sold out and will be a mint to buy on the secondary market but what can you do?

What were the initial ones that were released in the states like?
I only saw the 2011 Lion-O and Thunder Tank selling online once.

So if Lion-o was in the past as his ancestor, and did it with Panthera...does that mean he's like Fry from Futurama? He is his own grandpa!

>subscribed to Mattel Thundercats line
>my first sub ever
>Mattel Thundercats will 100% certainly be cancelled before the main cast is made
>will never get SDCC wilykittens due to scalper prices

wilykute

That tumor on Wilykat's hand should be looked at.

...

He didn't really go back in time, he was just experiencing the past through the eyes of his ancestor.

Words cannot describe how much I love art that highlights the physique of a character that can do what Wilykit can do.

I feel like this show was never given a proper chance. yeah it wasn't great, but it was at least different from most of the crap we have now. Fucking Sup Forums expects perfection too much when I'm just grateful for variety.

With a massive comic book crossover coming between He-Man and the Thundercats, it's unlikely that Mattel will cancel the Thundercats line now.

I don't think people outright hate it, it's more like wasted potential especially in the direction it was going

>muscle toned Wilykit
I didn't even know I wanted this

Yeah I never got all the hate. I guess one of the creators was a dick or something?

Not to say Sup Forums doesn't have some valid points, just when watching it I always remember enjoying myself most episodes than not.

Even as a Kid I kept thinking Lion O was a clown or at least Ronald McDonald

The artist who drew this also wrote a fanfic where WilyKit gets sucked through a portal and comes back as a bitter adult. Lion-O flirts with her a lot in it. Unfortunately it was never finished

...

honestly it's not even that good.

still it would have been better than nothing, but the figures hardly do the two hotties justice.

Even in the pilot there were a few hints of the shitshow that was to come. Like when the bad guy they were beating to the arena teleported ahead of them with no explanation. And when that crowd ran into a tunnel that got bombed and it was really unclear if they were supposed to have died or what was going on.

It's a shame all the Older Wilykit stuff I find is so...rapey.

Is that tou, Dogma? Draw some Wilykit lewds.

Who over at WildStorm seriously thought The Return was a good idea?

yeah nobody does cloth on figures anymore. i guess that has probably become even MORE expensive, and really most of it looks lousy (mainly because it's too thick when you mentally scale it up. it drapes wrong. the only good one was the oldschool splinter figure, who basically had a chamois cloth on.. but then that got so grimy. i mean that suits that character, but)

just.. better than that. i guarantee there's little range of motion for the legs unless that's VERY soft rubber on the skirt. the clothes are missing lots of paint apps. the tail appears to be a tripod leg, probably just on a rotating cut joint.. there's no wrist movement, the hands are weirdly open, and the feet aren't painted. other than that I guess it's okay, aside from the offmodel hair.
yeah see these look to be of higher quality. i'd love 2011kit like this.

this. 2011 was NO time to be bitching about action shows not having a good enough plot, and 2016 sure as fuck isnt

Im more for him than wilykat

Unfortunately he has next to no good solo lewds.

>i will never find a girlfriend who's as into kat as i am into kit and we can enjoy them together
sads

Can we address the manlet in the room?

Thanks.

She's like 9ft tall.

Where did this outfit come from? I don't remember it in the show

There was an edgy comic where she was being kept by Mum-Rah as a fucktoy.

...

...

Oh wow that's extremely lewd

Song of the Petalars is one of my favorite episodes of animation. The Duelist and the Drifter was great too.
The show took a nosedive, but I still would have liked to see where it would have gone.

People really don't seem to understand that you have to support this stuff. If you want to see more action shows on TV, watch the ones that are already there. Even if it isn't perfect, it's better than nothing at all. If the show does well, other studios will try to follow suit with their own action series, which means more shows to choose from. Then, and only then, you can be picky.

exactly
though it's not like any amount of 'support' would help when CN obviously hated it, wanted it gone, and bandai did a cruddy job on the toys.. though in a lot of ways they were trying. i dunno, i just know they can do a lot better.
one thing we need to stop seeing is multiple sizes of the same characters. what the shit is the point? there's VERY limited shelf space, you don't want to be competing with yourself.
Okay yeah, not all families can afford the same shit, but in general the more efficient you are the better you can be with your pricing.
and considering you have characters as tiny as the kittens and as big as grune and panthro, it makes sense to stick with ONE scale and try to put everyone to rights with each other. a parent might say "you can have a big one and a small one or two regular ones" and then there you go. they can build their collection.
if you design ONE good toy, then everyone will need to have it. better that (which costs less to produce) than trying to make a million extraneous things

Does he wear briefs at least?

>Yeah I never got all the hate. I guess one of the creators was a dick or something?

It was written like garbage. You have to be pretty dumb to not notice.

The creator who was a dick was actually the character designer and one of the only people on the show who did a good job, despite being a massive tool.

>tfw you want to save some of these images but you don't know if it's illegal since US has no clear law on lolicon

Shit makes me way too paranoid, too. Anyone else feel the same?

Don't know if I'll go to jail for this comment.

name two shows written better
avatar yeah but you cant name a second
the fuck is wrong with you? america has extremely clear laws on freedom of expression. you can't ban a drawing. fuck you cant even ban an album cover or a straight up live action movie as long as it's clear it's not porn and no actual sex is happening to the actual childrens.
you're thinking of russia maybe

>swerves and plummets so far in quality so quickly that only the destruction of the space shuttle Challenger could possibly outmatch it

Though the Challenger, while doomed, continued traveling upward before it began tumbling down to the ocean.

This was a shitshow the next fucking episode.

>ears

No, got it right.

Really, they should just stick to one size action figure (kid characters can be an inch or so shorter, but proportionally still fit with the others) and make all the playlets and vehicles compatible with the figures.

It creates a "collect them all" mentality to the figures, and kids will be more likely to choose them over other toys.

It also makes it really easy to expand upon the line. Just about any new character can get a figure, and any new vehicle can get a toy which the figures can sit in.

Other toys should then really be kept to a minimum, with only sure fire things like the characters weapons getting toys made of them (those usually sell pretty well).

You could still be arrested and taken to court, maybe even jailed depending on the judge's feelings.

Imagine explaining it to your family and friends if that happens.

As long as you're not intending to publish it, you should be fine. Drawings are ok in the USA as long as they aren't published, and even that is a gray area.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans download loli every day with no issue. Why would you be paranoid of being the first and only person to ever be prosecuted for doing so?

All of the US cases against loli involved physically sending it through the mail service or used as additional charges against someone that had actual CP. Prosecutors know that if they ever tried to go after someone for JUST loli they would get shot down.
