Movie trivia thread

>According to later interviews, the screenwriter was preparing the second draft of the script for "Kingdom of Heaven" when he accidentally hit "paste" instead of "delete," which inserted "Everything" immediately after the intended "Nothing." He and his studio assistants then failed to detect the mistake even after several copyedits. Errors like this are almost always caught and removed by the time the shooting script is prepared, but one or two inconsistiencies inevitably sneak in, only to be discovered during production. Of course the director and actors immediately realized the mistake during shooting, but the line had to be filmed merely to comport with the Writers' Guild rules included in the screenwriter's contract, which is why its delivery is so bizarre and overstated. No one on set expected the line to actually make it into the final cut. But then, in post production, the editor had no choice but to use the footage to maintain lighting consistiencies and direction of motion between shots. Everyone involved was upset with the resulting nonsensical line, but acknowledged it had to stay in for technical reasons. Viewers and critics were of course far less understanding, and this dialogue has gone down in cinematic history as one of the worst nonsequiters ever uttered on screen.

>What is Jerusalem worth?

>Nothing - It's a city in the middle of the desert, few natural resources, not on any major trade route, no tactical or military value at all.

>Everything - It is a central part of at least three of the worlds major religions, and for 2000 years each has been doing all they can, driving themselves to madness, to claim it as their own.

Sorry the line was a flub and any meaning it has is something youre reading into it.

>this dialogue has gone down in cinematic history as one of the worst nonsequiters ever uttered on screen
why? it's perfect. first one is the response of a general. second one is the response of a king. a ruler has to wear many hats.

Sup Forums has too many irl writefags for this anecdote about a classic Sup Forums meme to conveniently surface today.

>and this dialogue has gone down in cinematic history as one of the worst nonsequiters ever uttered on screen.
Wrong.

worst forced meme

The theater I saw it in burst out laughing when he said it.

...

My theater started unwrapping their dung wallets and began flinging excreta at each other while hollering back as soon as saladman completed his dual powerfist pose

What the heck

>this dialogue has gone down in cinematic history as one of the worst nonsequiters ever uttered on screen

Why is the directors cut so much better than the trash theatrical release? Does Ridley just hate cinema goers that much he wants to punish them?

>I didnt like it so its one of the worst lines in movie history

Why do plebs even watch semi-historical films?

The line might not be intentional, but it makes perfect sense. Jerusalem has no value as a city at all. It wasnt some trade hub, or some resource center. It was worth nothing as a city, BUT to the Abrahamic religions its the center of the world.

Its really not that hard to see why this line actually makes sense.

Me not liking this movie is now backed 100% by actual facts

It's no longer subjective

This movie is not good. Orlando Bloom is also the worst excuse for a crusader ever put on film

>when his age starts with 1

Is this another line that was supposed to be deleted?

this is a copy paste from the youtube comment section

posted it here first a decade ago. still memeing strong.

actually it's a copy paste from the original Sup Forums threads. You see my sweet summer child, this is a meme that is often posted on this board, and as such there are various responses that have endured the test of time.

>But then, in post production, the editor had no choice but to use the footage to maintain lighting consistiencies and direction of motion between shots.
This makes literally no sense. The line could very easily have been cut.
What's your supposed source for this?

dude that witnessed keanu doing gurgling and drowning noises shared the story, don't be such a nancy, nancy drew

>the line had to be filmed merely to comport with the Writers' Guild rules

pure fiction

Autism

If anything it was badly delivered by the actor because they knew it was a mistake and thought it wouldn't be used.
There should have been more emphasis on the everything. He shouldn't have continued to take a few steps before he turned again to say it.

The line itself makes perfect sense.

[citation needed]

Orlando Bloom is easily the worst thing about this movie.
