What the FUCK

What the FUCK.

Is Criterion really planning on releasing the fucking Dead series?

I hope so. Would be nice to see them restored.

what are those mask icons from

It'll probably only be the first one

Probably just Night of the Living Dead since there was a recent 4K restoration done of it.

Does Criterion even have any prestige left?

makes sense
they have to pay off stalker and a brighter summer day somehow

What do you mean?

Yes. You should be more concerned about phoneposters making threads here.

CC needs these titles to be able to afford some of the lesser known movies like bright summer day and apu trilogy

I hope so. The original Dead trilogy definitely deserves that treatment.

>criticially acclaimed movies
>Romero gore porn
lmao
hopefully its just Night of the Living Dead

>Night, Dawn, and Day of the Dead
>not critically acclaimed

looking forward to dayman and nightman

Dawn is enjoyable film but shouldn't be part of Criterion.
Day loses all sense of a film and becomes a FX tech demo, along with actors going mental chewing the set

OOOHHHHHHWWWAAAAAAA

Im still waiting for a Criterion Harmony Korine or Gaspar Noe boxset

>Dawn is enjoyable film but shouldn't be part of Criterion.
Dawn is one of the greatest movies of all time. If Armageddon can be part of it, Dawn certainly deserves to be!

>Dawn is one of the greatest movies of all time
lets not go overboard, here

Uhhhh

Criterion is a bad meme

This. If fucking Armageddon is a part of it then both Dawn and Day of the Dead deserve to be a part of it.

>Day loses all sense of a film and becomes a FX tech demo
Let's not go overboard here.

>If Armageddon can be part of it, Dawn certainly deserves to be!
This. Criterion has already set the bar pretty low with some very questionable choices in the past.

>and becomes a FX tech demo
Which is exactly why it merits a Criterion release.

>thinks the last 20 minutes of Day are any sort of a film
its just stupid gore crap, Romero going mental with his indulgence. I get people love that stuff but as a film its just shlock.

How is A Brighter Summer Day "lesser-known"? Anyone interested in film should be familiar with it.

>Anyone interested in film

Come on, man. you could post thread wanting to discuss that movie and you'll get to archive faster than a janitor running out of hot pockets.

Why are you acting like the Criterion collection is still some kind of super exclusive, high-brow film-only selection? At this point it's pretty clear the criteria they use is: "Is this movie of a certain age/relatively old? Yes. Is this movie critically acclaimed or influential to some genre/subgenre? Yes. Then it qualifies."

I have literally never heard of that flick

No, Criterion does some great work. If you had said, they include a bunch of somewhat useless crap and charge too much, I would tend to agree.

Awesome, I can't wait to finally see Diary in 4K!

fair enough.

RE
RELEASE
THE
KILLER

and hard boiled too even tho I have that sicc fan disk

Yeah, but this board is overrun with spewing plebs like so not a good indicator of what is and isn't known amongst people with actual taste and who hold appreciation for film. And when the BD came out, there were a couple discussion threads.

Artificial Eye>Criterion

Worst transfers all around.

>this posturing pseud faggot

probably not

In a good world it would be for Romero's Martin, with the restored 3 hour director's cut and he rare European cut with superior Goblin soundtrack. I can dream.

>hasn't seen essential taiwanese-core
Get some taste before flinging baseless fallacies.

I give it five years before criterion release the walking dead.

>he thinks he has taste because he watched an entry level taiwanese director

...

>based romero getting a criterion collection spot
>snobby kinofags get their panties in a twist

>zombiefags face when it's Martin

>when it's Martin
good

>left
lol
