Genre-Decade Defining Movies

What movies define each genre for each period of time? First up:

80's SCIFI

Total Recall

Fucking great movie, also carried some classic scifi and action themes such as:
>ambiguous ending (was it all a dream)
>arnold one liners
>alien origins

PS I know this came out in 1990, but it's still qualifies as an 80's movie. Periods don't shift just because the numbers do (like the 90's. The 90's didn't end until Sept 11, 2001)

Total Recall came out in 1990

helps reading the whole OP, retard.

60's

ambiguous endings were more of a 70s thing

I'd say that defined the 70s, nothing else caught up until then.

90's crime/thriller

Total Recall came out in 1990

saving private ryan pretty much defined world war 2 movies for like 20 fucking years

this is bait, right?

Total Recall came out in 1990

I believe Total Recall came out in 1990.

Total Recall came out in 1990

See you at the party Richter!!!!!!

Total Recall came out in 1990

The 90's ended in 1998

what the fuck happened in 98 to end the 90's? and what ended the 2000's/when did the 2010's begin? have we been in the same era since 9/11? Shit has NOT changed much since then.

You blabbed, user! You blabbed about the 90's!

Prove me wrong. Go ahead.

YOU BLEW MY COVAH! IT WAS 1990!

...

Get your ass to 1990.

>decade defining 80s scifi
>not Robocop, Blade Runner, or Star Trek 4

Imagine...

Would not be so bad if she wasn't pulling a face like she's constipated.

Blade runner is better, but everyone has seen Total Recall.

80's SCIFI would be Aliens.

80's Adventure is a toss up and I don't even want to weigh in on it between Krull, Neverending Story, Indiana Jones and many othesr.

80's dance is Dirty Dancing with Flash Dance at a close second.

80's capeshit would be the last Superman film.

80's teen movie is of course The Breakfast Club...indisputable. Others are notable like Ferris Beulers Day Off but it's not even close.

80's Buddy Cop is a toss up between 40 Hours, Beverley Hills Cop and Lethal Weapon...I can't even call it.

That's all I got.

The 60s was Easy Rider.
