GOOLD?

>it's a daniel gets ascended episode

>it's an among the hordes of amazons Daniel hits on the youngest episode

but the meal was cooked a long time ago

...

>not loving Touched By A Daniel

>it's a unresolved series episode

If you were given a task to revive Stargate, how would you do it?

Just base it in the current year and hopefully come up with a long term villain as interesting as the GOOLD

A two man, two woman SG team on a 3 hour recon mission get their wormhole knocked off keel by dialing past a collapsing blackhole, getting diverted to an uncharted galaxy. They cant just dial home as the DHD now has completly different symbols. They are now forced to investigate each world they visit looking for new gate addresses and starcharts, trying to build a network map of their new galaxy, meeting locals, learning folklore, righting wrongs, getting up the ire of this new galaxies crime syndicate, and trying gate-by-gate to inch their way home.

a qt SG1 member gets JAFFA'D

announce it at a Comic Con

GTFO of my comfy stargate threads you human waste! Anyway, I'm sorry, but that just happens to be how I feel about it.

would the GOOLD parasite be the cuck in that situation, since it's using someone else's body to bang the woman he'd otherwise be in the position to bang (were he not a paltry worm creature)

I would do a TV film to give SGU an ending.

This would actually be p great desu.

Do you think by the current year JAFFAD dot com exists

I feel like there is no point really in developing the TV canon any further. Stargate has developed from its mythology-based roots (which is what people think of when they hear "Stargate": pyramids and Egyptian gods in space, not Alteran superweapon #43298), and the franchise has run through basically the same stages as Trek did in 30 years: basic exploration (SG-1), distant outpost (SGA), ship lost far out in the universe (SGU). and who wants more Ancient shit or replicators at this point?

I feel like a reboot would not be the worst idea, but it's obvious since Independence Day 2 that we can't trust Emmerich with it. And even if you go back to the roots, it seems pointless to start at 0 and develop a whole new world that will either mimick the first canon or probably won't be anywhere near as good.

My dream scenario is to basically make a literal cartoon version (think Clone Wars/Rebels) of SG-1 (like TAS to TOS). Just make more SG-1 but set it in the early years of the show where it was Goold centered. Call it "Stargate Command". You wouldn't have to change the tone at all, because SG-1 is already basically a live action cartoon (lots of humor, friendship, violence is generally light, over the top colorful weapons, lots of cool weapons and gadgets), so it would be the same thing. Only you wouldn't be limited by budget or the Canadian forest, instead you could really show amazing vistas on other worlds (never mind show different factions of Jaffa with the various helmets that the show didn't bother with), kinda like this youtube.com/watch?v=6Yd_QxOp5ic

I know it's never going to happen, it's just a wet dream of mine

>They cant just dial home as the DHD now has completly different symbols

you mean the way it's technically supposed to be on EVERY single planet according to the rules set up by the movie and SG-1 pilot?

If someone could write a Stargate where it was announced to the world that it exists (I know that episode), perhaps based in the near future within a few decades and it actually be good I would like that.

He said different symbols, not different combinations.

yeah that's what i mean. the movie establishes, and the SG-1 pilot confirms this, that the Stargate on EVERY planet has totally unique symbols because they represent the star constellations you can see on THAT planet. but then they couldn't be fucked to stick with that premise, so they silently dropped it and now Stargates across just happen to use the constellations seen from Earth (because Ancients did everything and because we're the center of the universe I guess)

cheers man
i just took the comfy eps of sg1 and gave it the plot of sliders or quantum leap, two of my other favourite sci-fi that didnt get proper endings

>and who wants more Ancient shit or replicators at this point?
who wouldn't want a repliCarter?

>reboot
don't fucking reboot it! just give an alternate timeline.

>cartoon
hell no. im 30+ i wont watch shitty cartoons.
also there is a sg cartoon already...

>im 30+ i wont watch shitty cartoons

if you're watching SG-1, you're already watching something that is cartoonish through and through, what fucking difference does it make if it's live action or CGI?

>also there is a sg cartoon already

yeah a godawful one, I said make more SG-1

>im 30+ i wont watch shitty cartoons.

American """maturity""".

Top user whoever which one of you recommended dark matter in these threads, finally got around to. Made by 2 producers who did all the stargate series, tapping even directed an episode or two also Hewlett and Higginson have reccurring characters in it.

>american

>TV canon
They made it clear there are still undiscovered aliens out there, so there is still plenty more they could do with the series if they wanted

Fun campy sci fi for sure, but they still come up with some pretty cool future tech ideas (like transfer transit)

I'm trying to open episode 2 of SGU, but I just can't

...

...

yeah sure. you can just make up more aliens, and get new spaceships etc. but I feel like Stargate is basically another Star Trek at this point, only that the portal replaces Enterprise. but wouldn't you agree that there is more of a difference between Gate and Trek than just the plot device that enables space travel? what makes Stargate Stargate? what do people associate with it? what made it popular in the first place? ancient mythology, in particular Egyptian mythology on other planets. it's just my personal opinion that Stargate should return to those roots in some way.

...

im you are right, I totally forgot that, but yea, my idea was basically
>team gets flung into the centre of a nearby galaxy.
>locals use the gates for trading with neighboring systems (lets say they are alteran decendant, so planetary tech ranges from renaissance to industrial age to not too distant future from planet to planet) and so does their knoweldge of the network.
>folklore tells the team that the only gates that can cross galaxies are near the edges, so they need to cross bit by bit
I went with crime gang as it can allow a large dispersed enemy with a big bad without revisiting parasites or gods

That sounds suspiciously familiar

>I went with crime gang as it can allow a large dispersed enemy with a big bad without revisiting parasites or gods

I fucking hated the Lucian Alliance

lol
I spend a good 45 minutes trying to come up with a fresh SG idea only to to be told its been done and canceled 15 years ago
thanks for the heads up, that theme song fml

more like current year military environtment AND mythology (not only Egyptian. there were also babylonian and others)

I agree, i treat s8 as the end of sg1 myself

yeah sure, but the majority were Egyptian gods, and even the other ones still used pyramid ships, Egyptian style collard etc, had the same hieroglyphs, used the sarcophagus, their language was implied to be essentially identical to ancient Egyptian too. in dramaturgical essence, the Goold were Egyptian

That's because Ra was the unchallenged leader of the System Lords for so long. Most fell into his line and followed his divine style guide, especially the major ones who wanted to be in his favor.

I know she was attractive, but was Carter using that her Lucius used to make people love him?

Becauseevery guy they met wanting to fuck her got real old

Man, now that I think about it, Lucius was a serial rapist. He used that drug to mind-control women into sleeping with him.

Why the hell did Atlantis just let him go?

long hair
