But there's nothing in Kazakhstan exept steppe and Nazarbayev.

Can you share some customs that unique to the Kazakh people?

How prevalent is nationalism in Kazakhstan? Can you share some ideologies of the right wing regarding other countries/ethnic groups?

What is the average height of people? How tall are you?

I'm sorry for the late reply

>How safe and cheap is Kazakhstan for tourists?
It might sound ridiculous, but I'm not so well informed on the specificity to answer your question with competence. I'm rarely in the loop when it comes to this kind of thing desu

I'll however try to provide some insight into the safety. I find Astana safe enough. I've been there and the city looked really decent and cool. I can't say the same about Almaty. Almaty has got much worse recently. Pickpockets on buses, polluted air and everything. Maybe I'm exaggerating though. I hope things will change for the better

>I was thinking of going there some day but I'm afraid of people making fun of me for being a Pajeet
I don't think you should be worried much about what some suspicious people would think of you. Most people have their own issues and don't care after all

If you want to have more details ask another Kazakhstani ITT he may know much more

>it wasn't a бoльшoй deal
There are multiple problems with this phrase. To begin with, this phrase does not exist in Russian, so half translating it... doesn't really accomplish anything, as it still has to be translated back into English to make sense. What's more, intuitively the Russian mind expects the adjective to be in the instrumental case, as is typical for the "it wasn't a..." kind of construction, making it even more of a clumsy translation insert by a foreigner. It's okay if you want to show off before other people who don't know Russian and will assume it works exactly like they expect English to work, but here is not that kind of environment.

Sure you do, it's the KHAN's headquarters

Distinct enough to have our own culture and nationality
>What is it that you currently do? What was the occupation of your parents and grandparents?
W-why do you ask?
>What proportion of Kyrgyz people are nomads?
Pretty small, if they even exist at all. It's not like Mongolia where mongols were doing whatever they want, ruskies wanted to be like them, so they forced us to do so
>Is it true that the government is pretty non-existent and that its mandate is pretty much limited to Bishek?
I'm not sure about that so i won't answer this question
>What are some stereotypes that you have about Uzbeks?
Muslim kikes who reproduce like insects
> Have you ever heard of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relationships?
That's not really uncommon, especially in Fergana (Jalal-Abad, Osh, Batken regions)

>Distinct enough to have our own culture and nationality
Which juz do you belong to? Can you tell us about some the prominent Kyrgyz juz?

>W-why do you ask?
Kyrgyzstan is a very different country from India, I'm just curious about the sort of occupations people have.

>I'm not sure about that so i won't answer this question
Do you live in Bishek?

>That's not really uncommon
Really? Given all the riots and tensions, I would think that this would be a strict no-no

Cheers to that.

>juz
*triggered*
We don't have kazakhi jews, we have clans which are part of tribes (uruu) which are part of "wings" (kanat). I'm from bagish tribe which is part of right wing
>Do you live in Bishek?
Yep
>Really? Given all the riots and tensions, I would think that this would be a strict no-no
All the riots are coming from the fact that uzbeks control much of the business in Fergana which obviously makes kyrgyz population unhappy. There was no idea of nationalism in feudalism and central asia never made into capitalism until XX century
>What roles do juz play in Kyrgyz politics and society?
Tribes are meme at this point. But clans do have big role in poltics. Basically Kyrgyzstan's two biggest problems are regionalism and nepotism. So people tend to divide themselves. First it's South and North (which is more like southwest and everything else)
Then it's the region you come from (Talas, Naryn etc.)
Nepotism is hole another problem. Remember clans? That's where they come into play. You see, kyrgyz mentality revolves around family and when you become someone big, there always be a son of a cousin of your friend from a village your grandad came from who needs a job in a city. There always be relative who'll ask for a favour. Our first two regimes were overthrown because of this. All major positions were occupied by president's relatives. Even during past elections mass media were counting all known relatives of major candidates (picrelated)

Пятничкa. Гoтoвитecь? Пpeдвкyшaeтe?

Can you tell something more about the wings and tribes? Like what is their origin - do they belong to separate regions, occupations or they are pretty much extended kinship networks?

What are some of the most prominent tribes of Kyrgyzstan?

What are some stereotypes about the various well-known tribes? For example, what would be people's first opinion of you when they hear you are bagish?

Is there a concept of royalty/higher ups amongs clans/tribes for people who trace their descent from the Khans, etc?

Yes, Uzbek-Kyrgyz tensions are about economics. But don't Kyrgyz look down on Uzbeks because they are not nomads?

What is the pejorative used by Kyrgyz for Uzbek, I think it is Sart iirc. How offensive is it?

What is difference between north and south Kyrgyzstan in terms of culture, language, history and customs?

>Nepotism is hole another problem. Remember clans? That's where they come into play. You see, kyrgyz mentality revolves around family and when you become someone big, there always be a son of a cousin of your friend from a village your grandad came from who needs a job in a city.

Isn't "Ozbek" an insult in Kazakh for a rowdy person?

I heard somewhere that Kazakh doesn't have a lot of swear words as using them is a serious matter. Is that true?

Sorry, I always thought it was Georgian for some reason.

>Isn't "Ozbek" an insult in Kazakh for a rowdy person?
yes, we can call someone like this and use it as an insult, but pretty rare

> Can you tell something more about the wings and tribes? Like what is their origin - do they belong to separate regions, occupations or they are pretty much extended kinship networks?
> What are some of the most prominent tribes of Kyrgyzstan?

I'm too lazy to answer all these questions, sorry
>But don't Kyrgyz look down on Uzbeks because they are not nomads?
Eh, yes and no i guess. Remember north-south division? Southern kyrgyz were well integrated into uzbek society during Kokand rule, even though we were still nomads, while they weren't. It affected their language, so even today southern dialect is close to uzbek in some ways, hardcore islam is more widespread there (pic related was taken in Özgön) etc.
Sart use to mean "sedentary population" or smth along those lines. Now it jsut means just uzbek cuz, you know, we're all "sarts" at this point. There are probably more but sart is the most widespread so i can't think of anything else.
> What is difference between north and south Kyrgyzstan in terms of culture, language, history and customs?
I guess i already answered that question
