True, and the set design was on another fucking level now I think of it.

David Benioff and Dan Weiss are in talks to film the Silmarillion m8.
Has Christopher Tolkien died yet? What's the point of being in "talks" when you can't get the rights.
>He doesn't know
user...
Hope this is the start of a comfy LOTRposting thread. Really need one tonight.
Don't fucking scare me like that.
Based Christopher is the only thing keeping those money grubbing Hollywood shits from raping the rest of Tolkien's work.

The halls of moria gave me goosebumps as fuck
This. He's unnecessarily butthurt about the original LOTR trilogy because it really was the best and more faithful possible adaptation anyone could have hoped for, but he's completely right about the Hobbit.
Pretty much every part of the films featuring the elves is indescribably beautiful. They really captured their ethereal magical quality.
>yfw it's 2043
Related, this was one of the best things to come from The Hobbit.
It's the voice of the singing lady that does it. Like that's the first thing you hear in heaven
The new Apes trilogy is great.
Overhill and Misty Mountains were great too
Love how they wrote all the lyrics in Sindarin/Quenya. Adds a level of depth that most of the audience won't even be aware of
Yeah they also taught some of it to the cast. There's an interview with Liv Tyler where she says her favourite part of filming was learning and speaking Elvish.
