Bee and Puppycat

What the hell happened to this series? Another scam?

I think everyone over-estimated its lasting impact. The pilot became popular quickly, but those who were impressed by it at first didn't find it so later on.

Also, the art shift, long gaps between episodes, etc.

I was shit is what happened

the last episode still isn't out, is it?

and Frederator has been on record that Bravest Warrior won't be worked on until Bee and Puppycat is finished so it's got some heat for that

Bait and switch.
Basically its like when the cover of a doujin has good art, so you buy it, but then the interior art is done by another person altogether.

Is this the Mighty Number 9 of Sup Forums?

Adventure Time ripoff

Yes.

Nope, and it seems like the leaked copy has some sort of online protection, because so far I've been unable to upload it to either youtube or dailymotion.

I mean I could try on another video site, but couldn't be arsed.

Jesus did the artist Lose a chromosome..or gain one? Its like they lost the ability to do facial expressions

Haha, gross.

I think they said it won't be RELEASED until bee and puppy cat is finsihed

I think they're saving it for this upcoming alternate video channel service called VRV, which they're probably movie to because of youtube's ad algorithm stuff

They should honestly just put their shit on Netflix like Rooster Teeth does

Normal human who lives a fairly normal life in a normal world gets powers to go on abnormal adventures aided only by her partner with a mysterious past.
Not really Adventure Time unless you confine yourself into looking at "person with animal sidekick".

presumably the budget needed to be spread out over several episodes rather than just a pilot episode, so the designs had to be simplified greatly.

partially a change in design, partially using some korean studio (they're actually switching too a japanese studio, which might have an effect on the delay)

Wasn't there a comic tie-in? How does that tie into this fiasco? Was it better or worse than the actual show?

...

I mean, it's more Bee and Puppycat. Maybe slightly better because less delays and more focus on singular stories that do more with the setting, but it's not like a complete game changer or something.

That entire channel frederator interview with sleepycast was the biggest trip.

What happened?

DAMN YOU CALARTS!!!

Try Pornhub.

Oh look. It's Punky all grown up

>I was shit is what happened
Don't blame yourself, user, it's not your fault.

When will this calarts meme end?

when summer ends

Every animator/animation studio on youtube got fucked at the same time when Youtube updated their content policies, effectively ruining any potential money animators could recoup or profit from uploading there. It killed lots of shows\channels, not just B&PC

>It's Punky all grown up
Aw, don't be cruel.

It's called an endless summer for a reason.

Didn't youtube change its algorithm way before cartoon hangover even launched?

>tfw seeing nat became depressed over how poorly her show was received and treated
>mfw seeing her lose all hopes and dreams if making good cartoons ever again
>mfw seeing her scrap the bottom of the barrel and make comits for Kate leth, the alpha feminist bitch, essentially becoming a minority purse for her irl
>mfw seeing how much she fucking hates life right now

That isn't really an excuse to stop making episodes or make the designs shitty, that's pure lack of commitment.

What the fuck is the deal with youtube anyway?

basically youtubes subscription service is retarded and they'll never fix it.
its essentially more profitable now to make clickbait daily or more than daily than to be a content creator that doesn't upload often, as the latter will sometimes just outright not show up in people's sub boxes.

You know the mouth really does make a huge difference.

The right one is almost all lines or an "o". The left one uses more detailed designs, and the only time it uses a straight-up simplistic line is when it's an exaggerated frown. It's stylization for effect, not stylization for easiness under the pretense of "quirk."

Meh, then she shouldn't have made a Kikestarter for the cartoon if it was going to be mismanaged this hard. Hell, they even tried to reclaim their losses by trying to make that fucking crab into a meme with the plushie.

I just have to wonder what did Rebecca Sugar do that Natasha Allegri didn't?
They were similar artists and their shows had really different fates.

Is it because Natasha didn't pitch the show to CN or something?

It's because Natasha is a talentless hack.

Youtube operates at a loss for Google. Any problem you have with Youtube can be traced back to this one issue.

BnC tried to survive on nothing but fanhype instead of regularly releasing genuine content.
SU just kept trucking and let the fanhype come naturally. Naturally in the most awful way, but naturally.

that was actually pretty smart
why not drain the wallets of the people we dont care about, to fund the stuff we like?
actually i liked the shit out of that crab, and generally i want toys of things i like. it's just in this case the marketing was so fucking shameless it was insulting.

if that was true why wouldnt they shut it down? let someone else do it.

>Frederator has been on record that Bravest Warrior won't be worked on until Bee and Puppycat is finished

THIS is why we don't have season 3 of BW?
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

More like Pee and Poopycrap

Thanks for that, Clark.

You know what would be smarter though, actually releasing episodes of your show to keep interest going.

That wasn't fucking funny, Captain Hero.
Not funny at all.

SU is on a major cable network

BnC is on a youtube channel and kickstarter funded

That's why you'll never make front page, Smallville.

They intended to create a series funded by youtube money. Then youtube went and changed the algorithm so they couldn't pay anyone consistently because animation makes squat on youtube now.

It doesn't really have anything in common with AT other than it's creator having been an animator on AT.

The creator wasn't an animator: she was a character designer, storyboard revisionist, and boarded on dads dungeon (which was meant to be boarded by Pen solo but he was running low on time)

>by the end, Bee and PuppyCat had raised $872,133, funding nine 6-minute episodes.

that's a lot of money.

google is willing to loose money to get data on people so they can then get better targeted ads

You can't just shut down something like YouTube. It would do more harm to Google's image then having them operate at a loss. Google makes so much money in every other thing that it doesn't matter that they lose money. Kind of how Sony was losing tons of money in their video game division but their electronics and other divisions kept everything afloat.

SU spent a huge amount of effort on music, world building, and storytelling.

Bee and Puppycat went with the artist's visual vision, but never nailed down the other aspects of making a show, and the artist's vision disagreed with what the people liked in the demo in the first place.

Animation is expensive, yo.

Because Steven is far better at being a magical girl than Bee is.

Let that sink in.

I'm still just bitter that they trampled on everything that was interesting about the pilot.
Going from the pilot, I honestly thought the series would be adventures in space and shit with DEEPEST LORE hints throughout instead of just being 'bee sits at home and talks to forced memes'.

Pee and Poopycunt?

[can't wake up]

>I honestly thought the series would be adventures in space and shit with DEEPEST LORE hints throughout
You see, I can understand how you could have thought that, but I thought it was obvious that it wasn't going to be like that at all. Especially when a majority of it was focused on Bee and how she dealt with stuff rather than where she was going.

Nat didn't go to CalArts, you meme-spewing cunt.

Isn't their insurance branch their biggest income stream? Also I heard their gaming division's doing really well. TVs, phones and movies not so well.

Pilot was great. Actual series was shit.

It's terrible because that cat apron was kawaii as fuck in the pilot.

how do you think she feels whenever she sees how far becky sucrose has come

god i feel bad for her
