So I just got out of the military a few weeks ago and I just realized they made NEW episodes of Futurama a few years ago. I also came back here to Sup Forums after I checked to see if they brought back The Critic too.

I was disappointed. Anyways I guess I have some Futurama to watch. I suppose I should watch it in order correct?

How about a Critic thread before Jon Lovitz dies?

Dude.
How long have you been away?
This shit happened AGES ago.

...

12 years. Then got some asbestos in me. I stopped watching tv all together really. Then I remembered how much I like parody content and I liked the bits in the show that made fun of current movies.

Yeah, I was surprised about Futurama. I didn't like it that much in the nineties though

Can anyone reccomend shows like the critic? I am aware of family guy but I don't like the terrible new England accent.

Jesus christ. I didn't know shading existed back then. Must have been advanced for its time.

i am not the best with new shows, but if you dont mind a semi old one try Duckman. most of the episodes are on youtube i believe

Oh. That makes sense.
You've missed most of the good, bad and ugly of the 2000's!

>the show that had the means to stay fresh and relevant forever by commenting on and parodying movies and the movie business is canceled
>Simpsons still on
Fuck.

woof, enjoy your disappointment.
they DID bring back the critic, and ... it was about as bad

If you mean the webisodes. shut up, I don't want to acknowledge their existence.

When? Tvtome.com is gone.

Like, 2002? On Atom Films I think. They included them on the DVD set didn't they?

Regardless, they weren't very good.

It's a start. Thank you. I never saw then on dvd. Last time I watched it, it was over the air.

You've been gone for 12 years!?
If you haven't already heard of it, then here's something new by Disney that you need to watch: Gravity Falls.
Seriously, when your done with Futurama, watch Gravity Falls.

kisscartoon.me/Cartoon/Gravity-Falls-Season-01

I'll look into it. Looks kinda outdoors and woodsy. Art isn't too bad and I am glad it doesn't have that extreme highly stylized look.

It's comedy-mystery, ending kinda sucks though. You missed a LOT of really good stuff: Adventure Time (don't watch past season 4), The Amazing World of Gumball, Bojack Horseman, Rick and Morty, a few new seasons of Venture Bros., wait, did you even miss the original Avatar the last Air Bender?

Also research My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. That was a phenomena, both positive and negative. Now it has it's own board.

Archer, Bob's Burgers and Golan the Insatiable (pilot season, the remake wasn't as good). Watch Archer BEFORE Bob's Burgers.

>extrremely highly styled look
Jesus fuck user how long have you been gone. You're like that elderly grandparent that has no clue what's new or going on. not a bad thing . Gravity Falls, make sure you watch that, and give Steven Universe a go. If you enjoy GF you might enjoy SU too. I would recommend Adventure Time, but we are at 238 episodes it's not something you would want to get into. Star Vs. The Forces of Evil give that a chance.

>don't watch passed season 4
>t. user whose ships didn't deliver
OP continue watching if you are interested in it, if you lose interest don't force yourself. Also don't ship anyone, you will be disappointed one way or another.

Wait a minute, you were gone for twelve years but you came back to Sup Forums to ask about western cartoons even though when you left there wasn't a western comics and cartoons board?

>spouts garbage

>everything I don't like is bad

Sup Forums still existed functionally 12 years ago, even then just because there wasn't a cartoon board doesn't mean no one discussed cartoons on Sup Forums. The reason there even in a comics and cartoon board is because people discussed cartoons and comics.

Bullshit, Sup Forums is an orderly place where no one discusses topics outside their board's designated guidelines.

Hello again all, yes I've seen a few episodes of bobs burgers. I will definitely look at gravity falls after some research.

Nah, stylized I mean I don't want to watch kid shows because I am 38. No triangle heads or asinine looking characters.

In my youth I liked heman masters of the universe, James Bond jr. Stunt dogs, Thundercats and gi joe.

I suppose those were kid shows. See, I would like something like the Critic that came on around prime time with more adult themes. On other message boards I got alot of response for Rick and Morty so that is also on my list.

I appreciate the recs guys.

^furthermore, the person who reccomended my little pony... haha. Yeah, I know it's a big Internet thing but my younger sister use to watch/play with them and I am not a nancy boy. :)

Just watch Avatar the Last Airbender and ignore every other suggestion.

I use to discuss cartoons briefly on message boards and USENET. I didn't use Sup Forums too much but I did pop my head in now and then.

If you haven't read any of them, Bone, Usagi Yojimbo, and Sam and Max are great comics.
There are a bunch of webcomics, but I think you'd like Gone With the Blastwave.

Damn negro

You get into anything hairy while out for a dozen years?

Alright. It appears good. When's the next movie coming out? Joking... I know people hated it, but I don't know why. I thought it was ok. But yeah, I didn't see the cartoon. I think sometimes people need to stand back and look at what a film truly is standing on its own and not compare it so much to the cartoon before it.

Never liked Shamil Ayan whatever though. Anyone remember Lou Albano and the super Mario bro super show? Usually legend of Zelda was the next half hour.

Oh my god. I just realized that you're such an oldfag that you're functionally a newfag. Just click on the number of the post to reply (the actual numbers, not the No).

>adult shows
Rick and Morty, Archer, Moonbeam City, Bob's Burgers, Golan the Insatiable (go for Season 0), Ugly Americans, Superjail, Metalocalypse, Venture Bros. and Bojack Horseman are all good and geared towards an older audience. Also, American Dad is surprisingly good for what it looks like. Maybe you haven't see Aeon Flux?

But give stuff like Steven Universe a chance too.

>I thought it was ok. But yeah, I didn't see the cartoon. I think sometimes people need to stand back and look at what a film truly is standing on its own and not compare it so much to the cartoon before it.

I'm going to pretend I didn't read that.

You can understand him. Imagine if you watched Batman and Robin without seeing anything else Batman: it's just a silly colorful romp. And a guy who never saw anything Superman wouldn't have a problem with Murderman.

I enjoyed it ok? The only thing that pissed me off was that it ended the way they did. Every damned person in the theater was like... "it's over?!" I would of liked some kind of conclusion. Maybe it was too short, who knows.

I know how to refer to your post but I do not know how to add on a quick thought I forgot in my post. I thought ^ would let you know I was that guy who just posted.

Will remember aeon Flux. You know, I was in the Phillipines for quite awhile and I did read a girly magazine called W.I.T.C.H.. I even saw the American show. I guess I have a thing for powerful women. ;)

One can only dream

Back in the USENET days, if I wanted the attention of someone in a particular thread but knew what I was discussing was off-topic we would use a OT: at the beginning of our posts to allow filtering and not distract people who only wanted to read relevant content stemming from the threads creator.

People these days don't really care. It got bad the last few years. I blame comcast, roadrunner twc for giving out free Usenet with 3 day binary retention and 20 non for free with cable internet. Back on dial up and ISDN we always paid for our USENET. I went to conventions with Godzilla from Easynews.

IT SUCKS!

The critic was fantastic and I love it but there's no way it could come back and be anything good.

>that gulf war lawrence of arabia thing with the lonely sphinx who keeps Jay guessing on riddles.
>The fucking Easter island Moai kid.
>I forget his bosses name but everything with him

I want to go back

- new futurama sucks
- why the fuck WOULDN'T you watch something in order

>tvtome.com is gone

Holy shit my dude. You have been gone a WHILE.

If it's important you find a way to do it. Back long ago we use to... oh fuck now this is getting old. Back in the day we use to email or call by telephone the local network to get the airing schedule. They would always be happy to oblige usually around 2 months in advance.

Yeah, I know... everything was laid out so nice with synopsis on episodes and people could actually rate individual episodes to give a general indication whether it was worth watching that week or not.

I suppose I don't belong here.

One last request, are there any cartoons that tell a survival story? Doesn't have to be post apocalyptic but similar to lost in the wilderness or on an alien planet far from home?

Thanks,

>A preliminary version of the new site launched on June 1, 2005 and on June 13, 2005, the site was permanently redirected to TV.com with an entirely new layout.
>June 13, 2005,
>Site closed 11 months, 1 month and 5 days ago.
It's like this user was in a coma for the past decade. This is amazing.

I wasn't in a damned coma. I just has better things to do and now during a fucking 3 months procedure I am incapacitated ok? I use to be a pretty heavy sci fi geek in my day.

So what about survival cartoons? I am still looking for good ideas.

Welcome back, soldier.

Your brothers died for this.

take it elsewhere moron

>ITT

kek

...

I said take it eslewhere,

no one wants to hear how you hate all the current cartoons you dumb walnut

don't talk to the memer you idiot

Look you l33t d00ds, this thread wasn't about random nonsense. I gotta see certain things before I may no longer be able.

Any good survival cartoons I can watch? In the wilderness, overcoming many odds.

Oh uh

Hmmm
I guess Over the Garden Wall kind of counts

>ifunny
Kill yourself

You should also give Dan VS. and Wander Over Yonder a watch! They're pretty good!

Yikes. Have you seen "When the wind Blows"? Trust me, you will thank me later. :)

>THE CAKE WILL BE BURNED

yeah man I've seen that flick

I mean

I was only thinking recent times is all

Okay thanks!

The fact that OP won't even get the joke just makes it all the more hilarious.

As someone thats been in 8 years so far, how the hell did you not know they made new episodes then ended the show?

What's the name of that one sad chicken film made in Korea or something

>l33t d00ds
You're like a living time-capsule.

people come back from junk like this and comas all the time and act the same way
don't be so harsh on the dude man

Sorry, I wanted to give back. Only appropriate since you took time out of your day to answer my request.

>i wasn't in a damned comma
You might as well have been, thanks for serving and all, but you haven't been exposed to internet culture/television in 12 years, you have no idea how much has changed that is now common knowledge. We're not making fun of you, this is just comedy gold, the situation that is.

I wasn't being harsh, I'm just in awe, it's like listening to a veteran's stories.

ah understood

People disliked the Avatar movie because the Avatar cartoon is in contention for the best cartoon ever made. It just did everything right, and the movie took everything good about the cartoon and changed it, omitted it or just did it halfassed. Whether the movie was good or not in a vacuum is one thing, but people hate it because it shit all over the cartoon, which is considered really really fucking good. I'd put it high on your "to-watch" list.

I'll second Metalocalypse as a must-watch, it does a lot of original stuff and is highly entertaining. It starts great and keeps getting better. Watch one episode and if you like what it's doing (comedy + metal music + spurts of good animation), it's a good time investment.

Thanks, fucked up with asbestos in my lungs, I didn't expect much response. In fact, you peeps are quite refreshing. Sorry with the made up calamity. Or so you understood. No dip I was aware of stuff that was going on the "interwebs" yeah yeah its the Internet. It just wasn't so important.

I miss waking up to sorceress of greyskull. Or even lately a few years ago with W.i.t.c.h.

If you're into capeshit, there are quite a few good superhero cartoons made since the old classic 90s ones.

For lighthearted fun, Spectacular Spider-Man (2008) is great, just a fun adventure-per-episode series that touches on a few real human moments without getting too dark.

For the darker and grittier try a two-part movie series Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (2012). It's an adaptation of the old comic series, Old Man Bruce comes out of retirement to kick some ass and right some wrongs.

There are many good recent superhero animations but I'd pick these up for sure.

Well geeze, the best ever made? Ok, um... IT'S ON MY LIST ;) it deserves a second movie!

The original series was great indeed, but years later a spinoff called The Legend of Korra was released. It is generally considered "okay, not great" and doesn't quite live up to the original series, but because the original series was so popular lots of people have watched it and discussed it. It's okay but totally skippable, especially if you have lots of other great cartoons to catch up on. I would recommend it to hardcore fans only.

Hello all, I would like to respectfully request any type of knowledge of series that dabbled into the survival/post apocalyptic. Please post and let me know! Thanks!

Goodbye and see you all tomorrow after I wake up !
Bb

the new futurama episodes are shit

but seeing as you made this thread seven hours ago, you probably know that already.

Thank you, it is a brown girl I see. I wili) keep it in mind. My functions Starr

I'm in bad shape :( I got a button to go uppers and w 2 to go down. I'm pretty fown.

I respectfully disagree, I think the new Futurama episodes are not quite as good as the originals but still better than the average cartoon and worth watching. The consistency of good episodes goes down a little but when it's good, it's really good.

Goodnight whoever you are

What is ever good when it's old?

>literally Gorac

You have missed so much of Sup Forums tearing itself apart

GOOOOOD morning VIETNAM,

I heard the show stunk.

Everything is garbage now. Turn off the TV and the internet and don't look back.

But they did bring back the Critic

So I just got out of the moon a few weeks ago and I just realized they made NEW episodes of Futurama a few years ago. I also came back here to Sup Forums after I checked to see if they brought back The Critic too.

I was disappointed. Anyways I guess I have some Futurama to watch. I suppose I should watch it in order correct?

How about a Critic thread before Jon Lovitz dies?

But that's not a cartoon

Not a cartoon. You've violated the law.

She was in a wicked child porno back in the day. She talked to the media about it back in the 90s and they just brushed it off. She use to have to bring middle school girls in while she was in hs.

She died recently.

As much as I love sex with children, it's still not a cartoon.

I need to verify your post.
Do you have a video of that porno to back up your claim?

You know that's against the ruuuuruus. Just find her name and use logic to search for info relating to it. Ask power Rangers forum. All I know and remember was she use to have to bring in the little kids.

But hey, that's showbiz

Are you talking about the Japanese actress? Can't find shit so far.

Rita Repulsa. I'm talking about about the original Bandora.

Machiko Soga or Carla Perez?

Hello OP! You've missed out on quite a lot. Have you heard of Sym-Bionic Titan? It's only one season but I think you'd like it. It's Sci-fi.

Soga.

I dunno about op, but I do like tight ten year olds.
