Lovely.

Based fucking lettering. You can see the words underneath!

Archie of Murder

Did Bendis ghost write this?

I love that this is exactly 20 years out of date with how teenagers talk.

>Kweelkwegs

>Thar She Brews

Ha, I get it

Meanwhile Betty and Veronica make out in the background

Every single one of these is gay as shit

>Dat Midge
>Sweating man.Jpg

What a beautiful hit Bendis speak. Hughes nailed this book perfect in all aspects. It's rare for a comic to entertain me as much as this book did.

To be fair, classic Archie never bothered to learn how teenagers talked.

But it wasn't over-written. Hughes seems really sweaty, like he's straining to be funny.

It's a shame because I think his art style is a good choice for B&V (which is one of the classic examples of how cheesecake art was as much for girls as for boys). He needs a scriptwriter.

This was a weird comic

Hah. It does look like it.

I'm just glad someone is writing them as frienemies after the main Archie guy was like, "Duh durr, that be hard and me no smart" so he makes sure the two don't even talk to one another most of the time.

fawkin kek

This writing is awful.

sweet stuff

cant wait for the next part

One of my favorite old Betty and Veronica stories is about the "Chok'lit Shoppe going out of business" plot. It must be one of the most frequent Archie plots.

That's the point, it's ironic. It flying over your head isn't the problem of the comic.

Not as common as "two dates for the same dance" though. But common.

...

...

>it's supposed to be shit
For what purpose?

...

...

I know it's supposed to be loose, but I'm triggered by the sloppy color holds (turning black line art into colored line art).

>clowns? They're capable of anything.
Okay I keked

>I thought Spain were our allies
>gazpacho tactics
Holy shit this writing is aces

Ironic shitposting is still shitposting

Panels 3 and 4 have reaction potential.
>replace the text with
>Normies...
>REEEEEEEEEE

Veronica is giving me serious Lisa Lisa vibes in this comic, especially on this page, and that's doing great things for my boner.

Ironic bad writing is still bad writing

jaw dropped at Ryan Sook's goddamn

Fresh off the smart phone edit.
>OC

>Erica Henderson can actually draw normal looking human beings

If Adam Hughes is drawing this we're only going to get what? 1 issue every 4 years?

>Adam Hughes doing interior art

hipster archie is still the worst thing ever

>FRRRT!

WTF!?

Dude, three colons in one thread of dialogue? One of them being a fuck up that should have been a simple comma? Somebody needs to call these writers out for trying to look more literary than they are.

Why is that an inappropriate question to ask?

>top panel

...

>titties

THIS IS WHAT WE CAME FOR

It's from that time he met the Punisher rubbing off on him

>slow clap.gif

Some of these covers are excellent, but some are so bad I can't believe they paid them to draw that shit.

Is Hughes a slow artist?

>dat midge
Besides Moose why isn't Archie all over her, letting Betty and Veronica hate fuck each other alone

>mfw theres nothing in that sentence that i don't want...

New to Hughes?

...did the Dodsons's dog actually eat the pages?

What is some essential Archie reading?

I wonder how many USAmerican readers do actually know about Panini, the Italian publisher.

...

It's hard to say because most of Archie is just 6-page stories with no continuity.

But IDW released some collections focusing on the '60s work of the classic Archie artists like Dan DeCarlo (Betty and Veronica), Harry Lucey (Archie) and Samm Schwartz (Jughead). Those have some good stories in them and show off their art.

Yeah, I don't understand Waid's beef with the fact that they were both best friends and fighting over Archie. That's more realistic, strangely, than having characters behave 100% consistently all the time.

this page makes me want to read this now

>letterman jacket with jeans
>hipster

>One of them being a fuck up that should have been a simple comma?
The first one (we're not dating, juggie) should have been a period or semicolon, otherwise there would be no conjunction between clauses.

Betty and Veronica looks hot but they look in their mid 20s.

I bought that cover and this one. I REGRET NOTHING.

>has her dad buy the company to get the guy who tried to kill her friends

This is why Ronnie is a best

Does anyone else hate this washed out looking artstyle?

I didn't read the whole thing cause I got bored, but I just want to say I prefer the more stylized archie comics better.
