So was it always Lex's plan for Bruce to steal and weaponize the kryptonite or what?

So was it always Lex's plan for Bruce to steal and weaponize the kryptonite or what?

He definitely seems happy about it being stolen.

He has a weird face

He knew who stole it, and for what purpose. He has a reason to be happy.

He is Lex from Birthright, he knows everything yet can do a little bit of it.

Does anyone else think he was trying to channel Scorpio from 'Dirty Harry'?

>Dirty Harry -> Dark Knight Returns -> Batman v Superman

Really makes you think.

I don't get the "If god is all powerful" part.
Lex hates Superman because "God" didn't help him when his dad abused him and is because of this that he thinks that God takes sides. But we see Superman help people around the world, not just from Metropolis.
Also, didn't he already showed that Superman wasn't all powerful when the capitol exploded and he did nothing to stop it?

Dont think about it, snyder definitely didn't

>Do you know the oldest lie in America, Senator? It's that power can be innocent.

I really don't understand this either. Didn't America address this pretty much from day one with the intricate series of checks and balances and separation of powers in the US political system?

Hillary Clinton

You don't get it. He said that he doesn't believe Superman is all good, or will be in future, and he just hates feeling of powerlessness.
Same as Bats, but last is temporary evil (after capitol explosion with "you let your family die" letter and before Martha-moment).

Don't think too hard on a Snyder movie. There were plenty of "uh... huh..." moments in BvS.

Does Lex really belong in Arkham?
He doesn't seem unfit to stand trial and the insanity defense wouldn't work.

Yeah, it's fucking stupid.
Lex Luthor doesn't need a deep meaningful reason for hating Superman. Lex hates Superman because Superman stands in the way of his grand plans, he's the obstacle. Except that in BvS, Lex doesn't have any plans other than killing Superman, he's the goal. Lex doesn't want to take over the world, he just wants to kill Superman even though he knows he'll end up in prison no matter what.

Who says that power can be innocent in regards to Hillary Clinton?

He sees superman as the thing keeping humans from stepping up to the challange.
Instead of humans making their own destiny they rely on superman to save and protect them .

But that doesn't work in BvS, because Superman hasn't be around long enough for humanity to come to rely on him. For gods sake, even before lex starts puling the strings the media is basically full of people who explicitly do not trust Superman at all.

I know what you are referencing, but that version of Lex has absolutely no place in the same room as BvS.

Even senator Finch and Alfred sees Superman as good guy rather than threat.

That's what he says. But in reality, he's just a selfish egotistical man that wants people to rely on HIM. He doesn't care about humanity, they're just there to satisfy his ego and tell him how awesome he is.

If Lex legit believes Superman is evil why did he kidnap his mom? If Superman was really a menace he'd smoke Lex without question.

Is Lex suicidal?

He clearly doesn't care about prison, since the way he set up his plan there was no way he woulnd't get caught.

Because it helps reinforce the idea that Batman is a criminal basket case

He's been trying to egg Batman into attacking Superman for awhile, but I think he expected Bats to strike a deal with him so they'd work together, rather than stealing it.

what's his endgame now he's in prison?
how'd he even got info's about the other superhumans?

He never had an endgame, that's the thing I hate the most.
His only goal was to kill Superman. That's it.
He did it in a way where it was nearly impossible for him to not end up in prison. Killing Superman was the only thing he wanted to do. He didn't want to become richer, more powerful or take over the world. He just wanted to kill Superman because daddy issues.
He was pathetic.

Brain beats brawn, says one of the strongest people on the planet while punching one of the smartest people on the planet in the face.

Is e the most competent Luthor so far?

Managed to kill Superman on the first try

Can we all at least agree that Wonder Woman's entrance was hype as shit?
>dat music
>dat bracer clap

Seriously? That's why i don't like these threads. Sure, not understanding a part of the movie is okay, but then you guys use that as a justification to hate the movie.

Lex discovered that weak people have no power and that for you to have power in the world there's for you to be good, because power isn't innocent.
His father gave off an image of a good Samaritan for publicity sake when in truth he was a nasty cunt, the same way Lex does.

So Lex felt powerlessness because of Superman, just like in the comics, and thought that Superman good Samaritan act was a fraud. This is why he wanted to expose Superman and, ultimately, overpower him, so that he could feel justified and better about himself.

All the god talk was just because he was a big myth and philosophy buff.

Lex had help, that much was obvious, and Lex did had an initial endgame. He was going to give power to the Superman committee in the congress and used the committee so that he could have access to everything related to Superman in the excuse to have an anti-meta-human think-tank with the approval of the congress. Superman wasn't his only target, just the bigger one.

The problem was that the senator lady opposed him, forcing him to change his plans.

He also wanted to strike a deal with Bruce so that they could work on that, but since Batman decided to steal from him and do things on his own he decided to use Batman against Superman, but by then he didn't had a faith in Bruce anymore. Batman became just another pawn to further discredit Superman.

His "endgame" was heralding Darkseid's arrival and killing Superman.

Do keep in mind that he was being driven bonkers by an alien death god.

>His plan doesn't have to make sense! He's CRAZY!
You're a fucking moron.

What in the movie shows this is his initial motivation?
Cos it seemed like he went generally bonkers at the end when he communed with steppenwolf just before being arrested. Which nis why he's a snot nosed crumb snatcher in prison.
