This was a damn enjoyable movie, but there are a couple things I don't get.
1. Why were these mostly sympathetic characters robbing a defenseless woman? Why are we, the audience, supposed to easily forgive them for something so heinous, something they apparently do regularly?
2. This movie is set in the UK, and it features black people living in government subsidized housing and committing crimes. But London doesn't have America's history of oppression. It also claims that the British government sent in drugs and guns to destroy the black community, even though that is distinctly an American phenomenon. Am I to believe that black people cause trouble no matter where they are, always make excuses for it, and are supposed to always receive sympathy?
>Why are we, the audience, supposed to easily forgive them for something so heinous, something they apparently do regularly? Because of the way they were brought up. They live in a tower so they have nothing else to do.
The smart one with the glasses was the best character.
Justin Adams
>They live in a tower so they have nothing else to do. They mention FIFA and Naruto, so they clearly have other things they could be doing.
Noah Sanders
Basically poor people tend to congregate into neighborhoods of their own color, as that helps establish a sense of security, belonging and family. Poor people due to having less prospects due to a lack of meaningful education and in the constant state of poverty, tend to have short term goals because they lack a security net that most parents provide for their children due to missing parents or the sheer amount of siblings. So they commit crimes with likeminded friends to give themselves a better life. Just because they are criminals doesn't necessarily mean they are bad people. Mugging a person like in this movie is morally no different than shoplifting or stealing an unattended backpack for they provide the same opportunity and motive. Additionally, racism against blacks is not simply a United States problem. Almost every race, Hispanics, asians and caucasians view the black man as intellectually inferior and as opportunistic thieves. Whether or not there's any truth in that is a different story. The movie portrays the boys as sympathetic because really, they're just boys trying to get through life. They make jokes, feel sad and do the same type of shit you did as a kid
Brandon Sullivan
>Am I to believe that black people cause trouble no matter where they are, always make excuses for it, and are supposed to always receive sympathy?
The goys know.
Shut it down.

Game consoles don't keep kids off the streets.
Asher Brooks
Worked for me, pham.
Justin Turner
The movie shoulda taken time to explain some of this.
Nicholas Lewis
yeah and you're a low test white kid that sunburns easily and can't even get it up anymore because you tug twice a day to anime porn of rei getting railed by asuka, WHILE shinji watches from a closet with a noose around his neck and wearing a batman costume
Jace Barnes
There's a reason Joe can't get work in Hollywood. Nodoby wants his bigoted ass there.
The whole 'we dont mug our own brav init we got rules ya' stuff made me almost stop watching. I kept watching because people who I usually listen to about movies kept saying it was decent.
It wasnt.
When they all start chanting for him at the as hes being arrested for being the thieving little shit that he is I almost felt like buying a subscription to the Daily Mail.
Tyler Roberts
Yeah but most of what you just said is bollocks, I almost agree with everything you say until the crime aspect. If you cause harm to others and inflict trauma on them, fuck you. Being poor and disadvantaged doesnt give you the right to do that.
Plenty of poor people managed to make do without stealing headphones from other people or bags or wallets. It sucks being poor, but like fuck does it give you an excuse to hurt others.
William Miller
I don't the questions you're asking are borne from genuine curiosity.
Julian Evans
So...you stopped watching at the end of the movie?
Christian Taylor
>made me almost stop watching. >I kept watching So you stopped reading?
Andrew Collins
I was going to reply to him but then I just thought... no.

It's probably variable how quickly any given audience "forgave" Moses and his gang for the mugging at the beginning. They're also responsible for the whole violent alien attack by killing the female at the beginning - motivated by Moses just saying "let's kill that thing", we can also assume that as the ringleader he's the one who roped some of the gentler/nerdier kids in the gang into doing shit like mugging. By the end it's pretty clear that the movie is a redemption arc for Moses as an antihero to undo all the damage he indirectly caused. The movie doesn't go very deep into any kind of socio-political concepts, outside of Moses's rant about the government. You can see a dynamic emerge that sort of makes sense. The kids grow up in poor, claustrophobic home lives and see guys like Hi-Hatz (a totally unsympathetic character) making money through crime, so it's natural that someone like Moses starts leaning in that direction.
Isaac Hall
>anime porn of rei getting railed by asuka
OBJECTION
this doesn't exist.
Logan Bell
>Mugging a person like in this movie is morally no different than shoplifting or stealing an unattended backpack
>They live in a tower so they have nothing else to do.
"Tyrone, you have been accused of raping and murdering an 8 year old girl running a lemonade stand just so you can steal the few dollars she made, how do you plead?"
"It ain muh fult, I's a gud boi who gon be presadant an shieeet. I jus do this cause I live in a tower and shieeet and ain't got nutt'n netter to do. Wut I did to dat bitch ain't diffarant den picking a pocket. Wez Waz Kangs and Shieeet you know!"

You know an argument is sound and well-reasoned when it involves ironic ebonics-speak.
Colton Peterson
Attack the Block within 5 minutes painted itself into such a disgusting morally bankrupt corner that even the later "good parts" of the movie could not recover it. >thug assholes rob a girl (lets not even consider the rape that would have taken place irl) >immediately upon discovering it, ignorant thug stomp a defenseless alien being from another world to death >later in the movie the self absorbed scum dare to imply that the woman they robbed was somehow in the wrong to play on her UK instilled "white guilt" The fucking ending was so disgustingly cringeworthy too like really... wtf?? these are the "heroes" we are celebrating!? How fucking embarrassing for anyone that props up a movie like this and then enlisting Boyega for SW only serves to shine a spotlight on this turd of a flick for even more impressionable youth.
Things like this are the basest appeal to ignorance and immorality. The pall of horseshit from the first 5 minutes hung over it and ruined any semblance of a good movie.
It is a snapshot of the "seemingly" consensual degradation of society. When you allow negros to act ignorant, reward them for acting ignorant and excuse them for acting ignorant you are engaging in a kind of racism that engrains just as deeply as the whip of any slavemaster.
Tyler Reyes
>GET THAT SNITCH
Samuel Martinez
>Am I to believe that black people cause trouble no matter where they are, always make excuses for it,
From my experience, yes.
I work for an international engineering company and get paid to travel the world to help design and work on projects. I've been on every continent save for Antarctica.
In every fucking country I have been in, from China, Spain, Finland, Uganda, to Brazil, it's always blacks causing shit. If you follow the news a lot of these crimes are being committed by Africans and you will always find some of the locals hate blacks because of this. Save for Uganda kinda. But funny enough in some of these African countries the lighter skin blacks hate the darker skin for the same shit.
Isaac Bailey
I just find it amusing that niggers will perform some of the most evil, unforgiving crimes ever seen yet still have an excuse as to why they are "Gud bois."
Technically I'm Jewish, and I push, rather than tug, but otherwise, you're spot-on.
And Hollywood is the most bigoted place on Earth.
David Rivera
Hollywood is working hard to try and create sympathy for minority crime. You see if a white person murders someone then that person needs to be brought to justice and punished. However if a black person kills someone we need to look deeper into the reason why this black man killed someone and forgive him immediately because it's not his fault.
Matthew Lopez
Old ass apartment buildings basically serve as another version of the projects. They're ghetto as shit, it's what ghetto kids do, especially in the inner city.
Lincoln Peterson
>(lets not even consider the rape that would have taken place irl)
Yes, lets not consider the thing that does not happen, or even be hinted at, in the movie. Why even bringing it up would be a stunning display of retardation.
>immediately upon discovering it, ignorant thug stomp a defenseless alien being from another world to death
Why is this morally bankrupt. It's an evil alien.
Christopher Brooks
>Jamal, you have two choices...
>Either stay inside today and play these video games you got for Christmas.
>Or go outside and torture that disabled kid before killing him because you want his bag of skittles.
Angel Johnson
Remember the "alt-right" meme that gets posted here?
Ryan Adams
Who are you quoting?
Charles Parker
Because the first sign of intelligent life man has ever come into contact with is...
Murdered by a black kid because niggers can't think outside of killing shit they don't understand.

I'm guessing you mean "conscience"?

Got any examples?

Intelligent life? They are animals.
Julian Wood
I really didn't like it. I like most films I watch even if they're objectively terrible, but this one I just really didn't like.
Leo Bennett
Listen, I hate basketball-americans and their ilk just as much as anyone else but you are taking the movie too seriously. How could you possibly watch that scene and take it entirely at face value and not as a parody of the glorious "first contact" with aliens shown so often in movies Also, Moses is never an entirely sympathetic protagonist and his arc ends with him attempting to redeem himself by putting himself directly in harm's way for the greater good.
Jason Campbell
Intelligent life? They are animals. That's a bit rude to be calling Moses and his friends that.
Colton Turner
Never got this "nothing else to do" meme. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE TO DO. It's the company they keep and gang mentality. Predomiantly black music in the UK is grime, which mostly promotes gangs and gang violence and shanking various people's nans because the person you dislike is a fassy'ole. Black people can do anything they fucking want but it's easier to stick with the victim complex and be in gangs and shit.
Jose Mitchell
They should stay inside and shitpost pm Sup Forums like us white boys.
Gabriel Wood
don't address any of my points just whine about the truth of the matter. I must be making shit up again...the same way you won't confront the truth I post in pic.
>>immediately upon discovering it, ignorant thug stomp a defenseless alien being from another world to death >Why is this morally bankrupt. It's an evil alien. if a white guy killed an injured defenseless alien in a movie you would be up in arms and disgusted at the ignorance of the evil hillbilly racist xenophobe.
Joshua Morales
Mate, they're just kids. The whole point is that having a shitty upbringing and commiting crimes doesn't neccesarily make you a 100% scumbag for the rest of your life.
People change, particularly as they grow up or their situation changes.
But you don't actually care because this is just another Sup Forums "redpilling" thread breaching containment.
Landon Moore
>I must be making shit up again
Yes, you are literally making up a scenario in your head that has nothing to do with the movie. Immediately cease living.
Adam Ross
Thank you for your tacit admission. You have no rebuttal because in your heart you know it be true
This is about as close as you will get to an apology from a brain-dead, marxist indoctrinated liberal, guys.
Aiden Russell
>muh sympathetic protagonists >The movie was bad because the characters weren't relatable >Why didn't the good guy do only good things all the time Get fucking filtered you pleb shit My mental image of you watching anything more complex than Sesame Street is you sat with one finger in your mouth drooling onto the carpet, and then when a morally grey character walks on screen you start pounding the side of your head with the heel of your hand and autistically screeching until one of your parents turns the television off
Aaron Lee
Is this pasta?

>2. This movie is set in the UK, and it features black people Stopped reading right there, trashed the movie, will never watch it but I will give it bad reviews and opinions wherever I can by copypasting Sup Forums shitpost.
Jace Davis
>Mugging a person like in this movie is morally no different than shoplifting or stealing an unattended backpack It's the UK, the worst they can do is use harsh language, unless one was able to smuggle a pastic spork from the cafeteria.
Bentley Sanchez
Not only are you making up scenarios in your head that have nothing to do with the movie, but now you're making up responses to your post if you can't think of anyway to respond. Pathetic.
>one man let alone a group can't rape and beat a lone woman to death in the street >this doesn't happen routinely but UK's cucked government doesn't allow it to be reported because it would be "racist" to warn the public about it. pic related
Luis Sullivan
It's not just that they have nothing to do, it's the way they were brought up.
Jordan Clark
You've had over an hour and a half and you STILL haven't formulated a rebuttal to anything. You are pathetic and you know it.
Kevin Mitchell
I find it impossible to believe that no white man on black female rape occurred.
