>live action Tick
Why would you take an absurdist cartoon that's entire premise is that it can do insane shit like having a man in a dinosaur costume turn into a giant dinosaur and a main villain with a chair for a head
And then try to do a live action version of it

An entire episode
about a joke
that a superhero was gay
>The Flamer
Congrats. You took a five second gag and ran it into the ground. Here's your pilots license.

>What went wrong?

Not being animated, failing that not hiring pic related again. Not just continuing the original live action series. Changing the suit, the silliness of the original suit fit the tone of the comic that inspired it. bothing to make a tick series again at all

oops, somehow forgot pic

The costume for the original live-action Tick show was absurdly expensive even for Fox, they poured a ridiculous amount of money into that series.

Amazon isn't going to do that. The only show they have with an actual budget is Man In The High Castle.

But that's what made the live-action show work, they went so far in the other direction that it was almost literally Seinfeld with superheroes and it was hilarious.

You CAN'T make a live-action version of the comic or cartoon Tick, it's too weird. So you have to take the premise and go somewhere completely different, and to the writers credit they did that.

The problem's not really with the costume. It's with the guy inside having a face that looks better suited to being Arthur.

It looks like it belongs in one of the live action Guyver movies. That and the texture makes it look like it's made out of that weird squishy foam stuff they used to advertise on tv, that came in different colors.

>It looks like it belongs in one of the live action Guyver movies

Dude, the live action Guyver looked way better then this. This is porn parody levels.

>that weird squishy foam stuff
Gak?

That costume had no business looking so good considering the film's quality.

Dark Hero is great. It's sure as shit better then the unwatchable first one.

I wish this had the eye covering of this someone should do a photoshop of warbutick with eyemask.

I'll give the actor a chance.

Maybe his performance will make up for his appearance. It's gonna be hard to top Patrick Warburton though.

Patrick Warburton was just about the most perfect casting choice possible. One of those rare instances where the stars align for the perfect actor to be cast in the perfect role for them.

Or Floam.

>It's with the guy inside having a face that looks better suited to being Arthur.
For real. My first thought.

It's like they didn't even try

He might pull it off.

anyone else play the dope ass game?

...

I think that's what I was thinking of

Can someone explain why they never really did the whole mask thing? I mean you were halfway there already.

you don't get it, the first one had that GUYVIN' JIVIN' THING TO SHOW

Easier to emote. The Flash and Batman get away with it because they spend more than half their time without the mask. But the Tick is in costume 24/7.

>GUYVIN' JIVIN' THING TO SHOW

Where do you think all the quality went?

is the live action show really that good? I tried watching it once and it was so different it felt like a lazy hollywood "we don't know anything about the source material" cash in so I stopped watching

>New England Comics doesn't even get a piece of this stuff anymore.

It's shit, but leave it to autists to jack off to Warburton and have the semen block out their rose tinted glasses so they don't see how garbage it is.

is there a place where I can read these online, or a torrent I can download?

It's really good if you're not a giant fucking nerd.

so you mean no one here should like it then

So this will be apart of Amazon's pilot season and then voted on. Having Amazon Prime/Video, I get to vote on whether I want to see more of it going forward or not. From the image alone I am really leaning towards the latter. Ben Edlund's involvement is it's only possible saving grace so far. I just can't believe he okayed that -- whatever the hell that is. Gotta wonder how much faith Amazon has in it if this the best they can do. Doubt anything more than a pilot will get made.
