Terrible artists

Hit me with the worst artwork you've seen on a popular comic.

Bump

Ah come on, I liked that issue of Sandman. The art is weird as hell, but I wouldn't call it bad.

Obligatory Greg Land post.

That almost made me give up on Sandman. I can't even imagine what terrible fate would that have been.

...

Anons will literally defend JRJR's lazy incompetent ass.

And yes, I am aware that he drew competently three decades ago.

these look fine

The Dark Knight Rises
Superman: For all seasons (just the colors are nice)

I can't believe this fucker traced the same face twice.

He draws great today though, he's just highly dependent on a good inker since his pencils are nuts

It looks like a dance move from a music video. But Romita only really dropped in quality during AvX, which as said probably has to do with the inker of the storyline and that it was an event, which are usually rushed.

Never been able to swallow his style, squares and sharp angles everywhere and that ugly hatching that makes everything look dirty, but doesn't come off as shadow or volume at all, almost worse than Liefeldcorps 90's style hatching.

Nah, his style is still shit.

tan eng huats art has had its ups and downs, and its downs are PRETTY far down there

like draws a face and then goes "hmm not quite right yet, better add more lines" and then just keeps adding lines till it looks right or hes outta ink whichever happens first

...

...

Literally everything Marvel did since somewhere between the middle and late 90's.

Didn't Earth X come out around that time? Really asking.

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

I don't know but that was the times were Marvel started to use a shading weeaboo-like style for everything, and this is fucking disgusting to see.

First issue March 1999, yeah.

Dude on the right reminds me of Beavis and Butthead. Or maybe King of the Hill.

>artist is so awful you literally can't tell if Giant Man is using his powers

low hanging fruit

he said 'popular' comics

Frankly, all the artwork in the Immortal Iron Fist: Caretakers side story is godawful.

I seriously thought that was Egoraptor in the first panel for a minute

I just finished this a few days ago, and its the first thing I thought of when I saw the OP. "The Kindly Ones" (?) arc had the just style.

Jesus Christ, why does he have two jaws?

It was nice of Clark to dress like Dick for Halloween.

I'm guessing by looks alone he tried to do a Kurt Cobain and fellated a shotgun, but ended up like Arseface and just blew off his chin.

fuck you Simon Bisley is great, also that book was meant to look surreal as fuck

Kelley's art isn't technically bad. I'd say lifeless. Especially when it comes to Dream

>those faces

Did that user who storytime dredd ever do this one? I really wanna see some batman/dredd crossover

That's not even that bad.

Pic unrelated, I assume?

He was one of the best in the industry in the 80s and 90s.

Then he adapted what he calls "deadline style", which he literally says just means drawing as fast as possible.

...

(You)

Bisley is one of the best.

its not laughably bad
but this is not how you shade

Do you understand the difference between technique and stylization?

See: On a technical level it's pretty OK.

Here's another drawing by the same artist from the same time period.

Not really bad but I laughed at this for a few minutes.

What Kelley Jones done as of recent are all Batman titles.

...

I don't think it's what he meant. What he meant is: if he meets the deadline, that's his style. Meaning, he liked working on a book so much, he actually met the deadline.

youtube.com/watch?v=CKKTGd_N7YU&ab_channel=DareDevilDocumentary

Shit response, famm

He's explicitly said that the change in his style is because he just started drawing faster. It looks like that because it's rushed as fuck.

see

Any of the Poser-abusing artists like Deodato or Janin or the guy who did Midnighter's recent book.

This, I think his name is Milonogianis but every page was like this. The writing for All-new Ultimates wasn't great but it was bearable until this guy showed up doing the art.

Modern Marvel thread?

A few more examples

...

>twice
come on now user more like 50 times

>implying the Prophet: Earth War and the future G.I. JOE relaunch artist can't into the Big Two

he was top tier on prophet with layouts by graham
nobody gave a shit about the post cataclysm ultimates because it was going to end anyway

I got into a big argue years ago with some dumbass who tried to claim this wasn't shit-tier art, complete with me fixing the art in photoshop and showing how awful it was. Needless to say, time well spent.

Might just be me, but I've always been really into Jones' art.

That looks fine, the placement of shadow is a little weird though.

Jeff Palo ladies and gentlemen.

Does he get better with that Ulysses Infinite Comic?

Rulk hasn't had the best of luck in the art department.

...

Most of this looks alright, you photorealismfags are cancer

>Who are inkers and colorists

>ACO
>Poser
Go into poser and mimic any of the dynamic shots he did and maybe I'll believe you

He needs a better inker.

The tree's got a mushroom boner going on to the woman's left.

The machinery on the left looks like they're bought from the DAZ 3D website.

his 90s and onward stuff wasn't the best but it was okay
now he's just greg land tier
someone post that lego ship

I just realized what this reminds me of,
youtube.com/watch?v=6Lt-Ow4sCR0

He started as inspired by Rob Liefeld.

Who's the Frank guy they always have do the punisher for some reason?

You wouldn't?

Steve Dillon. He's not BAD so much as he just can't draw faces.

Miller used to be my favorite artist, I dunno what the fuck happened.
I didn't even think DK2 looked all that bad, but this is just fucking awful.

Other than the fists, this is fine.

>Ed McGuiness
>Art Adams
>Frank Cho
>Not the best
What?

most of the time it's just the coloring that's ugly as shit

No colorist could save this.

Shitty coloring

You must be joking

That's his fault.

Just like Henderson.

...

he had a point with that one, ti's still horrible
some of the interiors of the minis were almost prime miller though

>Better at action
>better paneling
>actually draws backgrounds
no
