It was a meme before memes were a thing.

Movies with simple plots and are easily parodied are often the most popular.

It's intense and fun as fuck. Yet the sequel is dull and unfunny as hell.

DENNIS
FUCKING
HOPPER

I don't think I'd describe it as a cultural phenomenon but it was a surprise hit. It's just an all around entertaining mid-90s action flick.

>That tagline shaped like a Christian cross

What is it with Keanu Reeves movies and religious themes?

He has like 20 minutes of screentime.

So? Anthony Hopkins only had 16 minutes of screentime in Silence of the Lambs.

Popular movies tend to do that.

It's a great fucking action movie. Basically raiders of the lost ark or terminator 2 tier.

Bullshit, the character development on the bus itself is attrocious

Sandra Bullock

Look Bodie, this is your FUCKING wakeup call! I am an F B I AGENT!

Shit I just watched speed 2. The one with the boat last night.

What are some other great high concept action movies.

Maybe cuz it was a fucking great action movie that still holds up.

Also one of teh best trailers of all time: youtube.com/watch?v=M0H6-ejkfYY

Die Hard
Air Force One
Black Sunday (1977)

Didn't help Simpsons memed it up as well.

Him and Hoskins made Super Mario Bros a fun ride.

Proto John Wick

It's a great action movie. The best of the "Die Hard on a..." movies.

It's kind of a dull movie.

like my question is how did Hopper manage to kidnap Sandra Bullock at the end when everyone knows what the guy looks like and he does nothing to disguise his identity besides wearing a police uniform?

...

>it's an RLM picks Sup Forums's collective brain to prepare for their next re:view episode...episode

did she get a look at what he looks like? she seemed busy driving the bus most of the movie

>he watched a movie about a speeding exploding bus and wants character development from background bus dwellers

It's fun

I meant literally anybody who saw him between point a and point b.

The way they jump from him being set up by the cops, to him impersonating an officer and suddenly having her AND the money, and somehow having escaped in plain sight through a hole in the sidewalk still bothers me.

I think they tried their best to cover it up but it pushed suspension of disbelief a little too far

Did everyone know what he looked liked though? You'd have to be watching tv during the the middle of the day, and most of these people are on their commute to work or out and about doing whatever.

Whedon plotting. What do you expect?

>It's a great fucking action movie

>Sandra Bullock

And Keanu being Keanu.
