I want to watch some absolute GOAT horror movie right now, rec me your favs.
I've seen a shit ton of horror movies, but just haven't seen a really fucking good one in a while, and generally been watching shit films so I'm in the mood to watch something REALLY good now.
>not over 2 hours >no exorcism/possession movies, my least fav subgenre
post movies you only think are 9 or 10/10, no decent movies, just fucking GOAT
I have seen 611 horror films according to letterboxd. not gonna list em all
Samuel Cruz
Oh okay, watch the Exorcist and Alien then.
Mason Torres
seen. Alien is GOAT. Not a huge fan of The Exorcist.
Jonathan Thomas
What about the thing and night of the living dead have you seen those?
Josiah Allen
It Follows and The VVitch are both really good, if you don't like movies over 2h you can fuck off
Julian Price
Guessing you want lesser known ones then. I'm at loathe to call any horrors 10/10, there are ones that are interesting, there are ones that are entertaining but even the best tend to be flawed.
Lord of Illusions (paranormal investigative) Candyman (supernatural + slasher) Cigarette Burns (paranormal investigative) Borderlands (found footage, has a neat science vs religion theme) Noroi (mockumentary, possibly a bit too long for your tastes) Wishmaster (if only for the really creative deaths).
Luke Jenkins
seen any Giallos?
Xavier Lewis
Sleepaway Camp is fantastic and slasher kino. Scream is also good if you haven't seen it.
Gavin Thomas
The Assembly cut of Alien 3, assuming poor CGI won't bother you.
Levi Ortiz
V/H/S/2 It Follows The Exorcist III Child's Play Halloween (1978) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) The Thing (1982) Deep Red
Evan James
The first V/H/S is also good
Carson Perez
Sinister
Hunter Young
>not over 2 hours why
anyway, pic related
Angel Bennett
OH. I forgot to mention you should watch The Burning (it has Costanza) and Maniac (pretty fucked, the killer actually looks like a crazy loony freak so it works perfectly)
Brandon Perez
I liked it as well but the alien story and the woods story are turds. At least the second movie only had one turd, the last one, also an alien story. But that's my opinion, maybe some people prefer the first.
The third movie, however, is absolute dogshit.
Levi Smith
also Cabin in the Woods, or Evil Dead Remake is fantastic
Nicholas Price
Well, if you've seen 611 horror movies then it's pretty unlikely you haven't seen the best ones. Anyway, Kill List and Sinister are 10/10 for the first half, then Kill List just gets weird and Sinister stupid. Housebound was pretty good too, very funny towards the end. You're Next is pretty great as well, but I think they're all well known so you've probably watched them already. There are 4-5 more I want to recommend but I cannot remember the names. If I manage to find them in the next 5 minutes I'll post them otherwise I'm going to bed.
Leo Brown
Suspiria Martyrs Eden Lake Who Can Kill A Child
Jonathan Sullivan
I almost forgot about based Italian filmmaker Dario Argento
David James
if you think Halloween III is good you have shit taste, so i won't bother.
that's not a horror movie, it's some weird drama with psychological elements. literally nothing in the realm of frightening
Wyatt Perez
the invitation, good mindfuck horror resolution, not very scary but a fun watch train to busan, this one's 2 hours long but I think it's worth the watch southbound, surprisingly good horror, if I remember well it's 3 different stories that are somehow connected wyrmwood road of the dead, zombie horror with a cool twist
