That's a difficult one, because when a successful original formula is brewed up in the studios, it ends up influencing a lot of posterior work, with some directors even upright copying what made the original unique and running the concepts to the ground.
That's why media that feels completely unique is usually niche movies or weird cult classics, because if they had commercial success, they would have been cannibalized into normalcy.
