some hair on that cover

hey thread!

Hey OP.

This is the Justice League Europe trade, right?

I think so

so what's out today, what's good, etc., I did other shit and haven't read comics

hoot hoot

re-read watchmen the other day and forgot we were in it cranky in the back obviously

HI NATE

LOOKIN' SHINY

man CWII is SO BAD

every time I think "Bendys can't possibly do something dumber than this" he does!!!

Hal&Pals is the only other thing I read today

It was fine I guess..... I keep waiting for Venditti to fuck up anything potentially good in it, like he always does

desu nothing really blew me away today

Batgirl was better than I thought it would be so that's nice

New Avengers continues to be good. Jupiter's Legacy was mostly Frank Quitely fight porn and it was gorgeous. Uh, I didn't reach much else. I need to get caught up on Tomboy. Apparently WW was super slow again.

can someone give me a detailed overview of how and why CW2 is shit

so what are they even fighting over now that the real fight has started?

Batgirl was surprisingly not cringey. And I'm enjoying Titans despite the art.

Didn't like Venditti GL, seems like he's already trying to undo their development into legit space cops. This is why we need L.E.G.I.O.N. as a true competitor to GLs.

Also from CW tie in

Comrade sent me the relevant Titans page, I approve because that character is awesome hax and bullshit

Beautiful

was the letterer drunk or something

lmao

That Johns promotion is good for him but I'm so greedy that I want to strap him down and have him write comics forever.

Linda was good in it too. Pretty much exactly what I wanted them to do with her after the DCU Rebirth one-shot.

NICE

CW2 was out today, it was predictably Bendis.
New Avengers was out and well, and predictably Ewing (although despite my claims, it seems Ewing really DID forget Songbird got her sonic powers back in Parkerbolts).
Captain Nazi was out, and Zemo continues to be a punk.
Hal and the Green Lanterns wasn't as good as Green Lanterns [spoilers]although we did get Young Sinestro back

We've gotten two issues' worth of Wonder Woman over three issues, and that's not counting the story set in the past. Art's spectacular, though.

I'm a bit bitter about Raptor basically being a substitute for Tiger over in Nightwing. And the level of Damifag's obsession makes me genuinely worry about their wellbeing.

Obviously it's M O S A I C at work.

Carol kidnapped a suspected Hydra agent and planned to hold her indefinitely without due process, Tony decided that was enough.

Hello Storyteller.

>so what's out today, what's good
WW, RHatO, and Action. All three of which were decent.

Depsite the decompression, Wondy manged to be much more enjoyable with Diana pulling a persuasion check on Barbara. I like that we're giving the old school frenemy relationship some play.

Red Hood was just Jason recounting his backstory and setting up the infiltration premise. It was fine. No Artemis yet though.

Nothing really happened in Action besides Diana being nice and squashing the love triangle that people were dreading. This book will be going with ClarkxLois as its OTP.

Huh? Oh fuck you, I ain't no Rorshach.

>Captain Nazi was out, and Zemo continues to be a punk.
Yeah, this book is actually shit and not only for the Zemo stuff. The 1920s HYDRA sowing circle (and can we interpret that fully, or is that just yuri goggles?) is the best part of it and should really just be the comic.

HA!

GODDAMMIT

Oooh, the Damian fan is in the thread? Link me?

I see people gushing over Wondy, but I'm still going to wait, in part because I don't quite trust the instincts of everyone I see just losing their shit.

Someone whose taste I reliably trust said that the Lobdell today was actually good.

>Depsite the decompression
can't even get into Wondy cause of this desu
it's been 3 issues of one storyline and barely anything has happened

FURIOUS Titans got spoiled for me.

Been saying that since literally 2011. I would get receipts but I don't think archives go back that far.

Civil War is a ride. we're finally at the actual fight and issue of profiling. bendis goofed tho because thanos wasn't just traveling to project pegasus, in the text. And no BAMF on that one page, don't sell me nightcrawler theories.

batgirl as fun, the ending being "Babs joins a fighting tournament" sells me 100% on the next issue

Uncanny Avengers was a good Ultron story, I don't see how or where they're gonna go with Pymtron with all the other shit universe wide going on.

ANAD Avengers was great.

I'm coming around on how Flash is decompressed, each issue has been just barry and someone so he's defining Barry and an actual supporting cast! haven't read titans yet

i still have like a stack to read

I'm not a defender of Frank Cho but the cover on today's Wondy is ridiculous in light of the Cho debacle.

Unacceptable. Editors need to do their fucking jobs instead of trying to be writers.

pretty sure that whole thing was never really about content

Sure, and today's cover puts the lie to that.

>and can we interpret that fully, or is that just yuri goggles?)

it definitely has an intentional romantic edge to it

what is it?

> each issue has been just barry and someone so he's defining Barry and an actual supporting cast!

Hey, that sounds appealing, in fact.

>I'm a bit bitter about Raptor basically being a substitute for Tiger over in Nightwing.
Raptor is pretty savage tho and Tiger's not going away completely

I just don't think I'll ever be able to get on board with this Batgirl. It's so not the one I'm used to.

I would have preferred to not get spoiled on Titans but I think there probably isn't enough build-up in the issue itself for the reveal alone to have gotten me that hype anyway. It's more the promise of the specifics of the dickery I guess?

Yeah, it is pretty annoying. I don't really get why this is happening either. Rucka's first run of WW actually made good use of decompression in the first issue by drawing out Diana's initial appearance, allowing for a satisfying build up. But here... I don't know, here it's just dragging its heels.

I'm sick to death of hearing about this Cho crap. A mediocre artist known for acting like a child got kicked off doing variants. Whoopdee fucking shit.

...that said, the MMA thing could be fun and is not an arc I've often seen in an American comic.

Oh, I read Tomboy

that was fucking something

Bendis can't into plot, they've completely discarded the minority report moral dilemma premise because Bendis lobotomizes whoever he gets his paws on. What makes them fight is that Carol abducted a woman shown in a vision to be Hydra and is basically ordering her to confess under threat of permanent imprisonment, even though SHIELD psychics confirmed that she was innocent. The woman vanished in a Nightcrawler-esque puff but with no Bamf or sign of Kurt (so it's ambiguous if it was really him who got the woman out) and that made Carol go up and confront Tony and his side.

man I gotta catch up on that

>I don't know, here it's just dragging its heels.
which is a shame cause I do like how Diana and Cheetah are, and that Steve is actually being used in a wonder woman title

She died! They tore her eyes out! Addison fucking killed her! WHAT

>that made Carol go up and confront Tony and his side.
But watch the fuck out, Dr. Strange and Thor! The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY are here to fuck your shit up somehow I guess!

I was told that Sinestro was clearly labeled as Daddy today, I approve of this

Ah, so Carol really is the straw fascist of the story this time around

...I wonder how twitter people who were on her side because she was reasonably proactive are taking this one

Joker, why the hell are you dressed like a pimp?

.... Actually, never mind. I do not want to know.

Don't forget that she just HAS the Guardians of the Galaxy at her beck and call.

Tonally it's the kind of book I generally like but I just don't care enough for Babs to really buy in all the way. Glad it seems to be better than the Stewart run though.

>I was told that Sinestro was clearly labeled as Daddy today, I approve of this

oh yes unfortunately now Soranik looks like a cross between a soccer mom and 1/3 of a 50s girl group

yesssssss best couple

pixie cut >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 50s helmet

>mfw it wasn't Kurt who got her out so the avengers blame the x-men for everything and it results in them looking away while the muties get btfo by the inhumans

MARVEL WOULD

They just samefag so damn much without actually talking to anyone and I can't help but envision it as some crackhead at the bus stop having a conversation with themselves right next to me

The hair is so weird because I'd be fine with it if it was just a little different. It's like not one thing, not the other.

But I want him here noooooooow :(

see how much more character you get with these dense pages?

....dangerously plausible!!!!

The first and second issues of this run really should've been combined into one. You could've easily fit all that into one issue.

>I do like how Diana and Cheetah are, and that Steve is actually being used in a wonder woman title
Same.

>straw fascist
Y'know, it'd be kinda nice if there was a story that portrayed a fascist character in a positive light. Like, not a Nazi or anything, but just someone who believes in a strictly controlled society because they think that's simply the best way to run things.

I daresay, in a better written story, Carol would probably have some fair points to make. She does live in a cape universe after all.

She did actually call them up and request their help in their last issue, for what it's worth

so how are you owls? I'm going to apologize in advance for missing a bunch of storytime evenings the next two weeks and all, but I'm kind of liking money

>all these Wapner jokes

that's kind of what Aunt Madge is at his best, but it's very rare

it's still fucking stupid that them suddenly dropping out of the sky is treated like a pants shitting game changing cliffhanger

>step outside to go on walk
>suddenly thunder
>buckets of rain come down before I even take two steps
okay.jpg

How's the dog, OP?

Red Son had a bit of that when Komrade Supes first came into power.

DANCE OFF, BRO

HYDRA CAP

>so how are you owls?
I was chatting with a friend in the bathroom at work today and I mentioned something about another mutual friend/coworker and it turns out she was in the stalls behind us the whole time! whoopsie

Glad being a running dog lackey of capitalist imperialism is working out for you.

>I don't even know what a weenie is!
Barda, pls.

>see how much more character you get with these dense pages?
This right here is why decompression is a mistake. It's utterly pointless and does not actually accomplish anything.

S'all good faggot, do what you gotta. I'm not going anywhere.

Ayy

>Y'know, it'd be kinda nice if there was a story that portrayed a fascist character in a positive light. Like, not a Nazi or anything, but just someone who believes in a strictly controlled society because they think that's simply the best way to run things.

It's called Judge Dredd.

Dredd isn't always in that positive a light.

I'm doing delivery in 90 degree weather, and my car's AC busted last night.

Hopefully it was tasteful gossip you were sharing and nothing that upset her.

YUROP TYME.

we got rained on HARD today and I had to run out and get the dog and we all got soaking wet

it is! I'm enjoying it.

watching twitter fights is such an experience

>I don't even know what a weenie is
>you'll known when you see it

All we can take from that is that Scott neither is not has a weenie.

>so what's out today, what's good

I read New Avengers at lunch, it was pretty fun.
Future Quest #3 is apparently out, haven't had time to read it yet.
Flash #3, too.

they can be pretty great, especially when it's "I'm cheering for MAD"

I was complaining that she never wanted to drive to my house to hang out and I always had to come up to hers so it wasn't a big deal I just sounded kind of bitchy

I called her dog cute though that should make up for it

Bart Sears will give him muscles for DAYS.

are there any good comic related ones today?

>So how are you owls?
Good. AC crapped out, but a guy got sent to fix it. Thank fucking goodness too, the sudden resurgence of ungodly heat was driving me insane.

>I'm going to apologize in advance for missing a bunch of storytime evenings the next two weeks and all, but I'm kind of liking money
It's cool. Do what you gotta do. I mean, it'd be pretty dumb of us (and morally repugnant, frankly) to complain about you not posting when you lack the ability to do so from unpaid bills.

well, if you're gonna draw anyone as basically naked and then color over it, Nate's the man

awww yeah, Brighton Beach is like the biggest Russian neighborhood in NYC

ohhh shit they might be collecting Reboot Legion? Amazon took the link down for now tho

>• Legionnaires Book One

>This is exciting -- a new collection series of the relaunched Legion of Super-Heroes series after Zero Hour. The title says "Legionnaires" and this collects the Legion and Legionnaries titles, but again, this is the "regular" Legion series after Zero Hour by Mark Waid, Tom Peyer, and Tom McCraw. Collects Legion issues #0 and #62-68 and Legionnaires #0 and #19-24, which is the previous Legion of Super-Heroes: The Beginning of Tomorrow collection plus a couple issues. If this keeps going, the next volume should have the "Future Tense" crossover with Karl Kesel's Superboy.

I saw that!
I hope we get a book around the time we get JSA

They might be collecting Dini's Zatanna too

Johns did leave them wandering the multiverse......

Wow, it's about time, and that's not a bad-sized trade

This would be amazing. If true. So hard to trust DC's collections department though.

Starman vol. 3 paperback when

Hold on, that's what Dmitri looks like? Huh. He's so scruffy.

I wonder how a modern Rocket Red Brigade would even work these days, what with present Russia being a democracy in theory. Do the Russian capes still work for the government, or have they been corrupted by Western values of vigilante independence?

I would 100% read that cape book written by a Russophone

...

Vigilante book > Rocket Reds if you're gonna do it now IMO. There's room to do it as a vigilante we would laud or despise too.

Or you know, former government capes turned into mercenary half-business half-criminal enterprises by the collapse of the state.

rain is good, but now it feels like it's fucking Houston outside

nice, nice

Aw man, Scooby Doo Team Up with Hawkman and Hawkgirl came out today

AIN'T NO PARTY LIKE A RUSSIAN PARTY

I knew someone who taught a bit in Kazan, where he said the motto of the faculty was "Vodka: it's not just for breakfast anymore"
