How should I go about making a comic that can bring in the shoujo money

Make it good, don't let Diamond handle the sales.

Make it so the guys do guy things while having the personality of girls. Than have them implicitly act gay towards each other without making anything concrete, that way you can drum up some interest without actually doing much.

Bump

The way you phrased the question makes it seem you don't actually read shoujo manga. The result will likely be just as shallow and insulting as any of Marvel's efforts in this area, or gimmick-chasing companies in general.

How about you first try to produce something that is sincere and true to yourself.

Honestly? Consider these things:

The western market is very different than the eastern market. Just bishonen won't be enough. You can go for the SJW way or the fun way: Ship tease.

Make it a webcomic. Make it full of fun designs with simple styles, not super hot guys quite right away. And make the comic good enough to attract a lot of different people. Then start with the ship tease. Nothing actually romantic, just small gestures of friendship that fujos can see as gay stuff.

If you accomplish this, congrats: you've become an artificial Hussie. Have fun.

>draw anime girls with flat chest
>make it drama and from behind groping
>make at least one jailbait

Rip off an existing shoujo IP but change just enough to avoid a lawsuit, that's how Brian Lee O'maley does it.

By actually being Japanese and not some western shit.

>US school sports club
>either buncha milquetoast kids talking about parties all the time or serial rapists who are 100% backed up by the community at large

There you go. You don't even have to use Highschool movie tropes.

Basically write a harem/yuri comic, then flip around the genders while changing absolutely nothing else.

But that's fujoshit, not shoujo.

Makoto best boy. Prove me wrong.

What the hell, is this Sup Forums

I don't even think Fujoshi dollars are quuuite as profitable for comics as they are in Japan.

Better off making it a cartoon or a book or something.

Speaking of Fujo, what's the Doukyuusei of Sup Forums?Or something close to it at least.

You can't get the western fujo attention when Japan already does things better. Unless it's a video game.

Too many people have tried with their blatant prettyboy comics and failed.

Go the shota route. People love the western shotas since they act more adult. Make it an action/adventure comic. Don't focus on romance. Add some girls. Only go homo really late or not at all, and just tease it.

You sound like a girl.

Either draw them like cute effeminate traps or make them 12 years old that likes to do some innocent kissing and hugging. And the artstyle better look cute too. None of that "progressive" SJW shit though. Make it seem cute and natural.

Incest is another good route.

You get a job in DC and draw LOTS and LOTS of Dick Grayson ASS

OH wait sorry OP some one beat you to it.

I figure western audiences would like soft gothy pencil drawings more than geometric bright anime. Western mainstream for girls is things like twilight and harry potter, not slice of life homoerotic stuff.

The best route, literally swimming in fujobucks

Stupid sexy Matsus.

Why are people attracted to human diddy kongs?

Set it in an all boys' private school or a Catholic school. Let the homolust and contradictory Christian dogma unleash the latent BL. Instant hit.

a bunch of cute guys with diverse appearances and personalities, some may be "bad," but ultimately they are non-threatening
self-insert girl. cute or beautiful, but not sexual. she can be intelligent and capable, but is ultimately naive about social relationships and romance. you can go the ouran/voltron route and have her disguised as a cute feminine boy if you want
self insert's best friend - is more knowledgeable about romance, also super lesbian

above all - everything must be cute and non-threatening. girls don't want to be reminded of the dangers that men can pose. you are only allowed to make a male love interest seem extra-dangerous if he is somehow a mythical creature or supernatural in nature

That Damien pose Ricken drew

Fujos are weird.

Starfighter says otherwise, but you have to hit that sweet spot of having good art while having a namakura-tier terrible plot.
