our 1993 constitution of Russia, gives the president the rights of the monarch and re-election for an infinity period
EU/Euro-related things, NATO, the status of Swedish as a compulsory learning language, immigration/refugee seekers, tackling of unemployment.
There's probably more
It's cold war tier

what is this?
By far the largest problem is the aging population and increasing health spending. And immigration doesn't help ofc that, but that is by far the largest issue. Less and less people has to keep up the welfare system
Of course that's not an interesting politicial subject as immigration or eu. Or non-issues like swedish
Vote counting for Kekkonen, our greatest ever dictator. We were called Kekkoslovakia when he was in charge.
>dictator tier
So having a schizophrenic electoral split 50/50 is better?
what does the president do? and what does the guy who won the election stand for?
In charge of the foreign and defence policies. Little to no power over domestic issues
why do finns tell everyone about everything that happens in their country?
>it's not democracy if a candidate is popular
Aren't elections a big deal no matter where they are?
Niinistö is pretty pro-NATO and it might have more serious impact than Brexit if we join
We don't want you to miss out
>it might have more serious impact than Brexit if we join
i want what you're smoking
If we join NATO of course it will have huge impact in Europe-Russia -relations.
It will certainly impact things (although I personally doubt that it would have much effect in the short term, at the moment Russia is only gaining by being friendly with Finland due to all the trade), but I understood that sentence to mean that our joining NATO would have a bigger impact in global matters than Brexit. If I misunderstood then ignore my earlier post
>Niinistö is pretty pro-NATO
LIES. The only pro-NATO person got 1.5% of the cote
>thinks niinistö isn't pro-nato
He might be personally pro-NATO, but it doesn't reflect in his politics.
I wish he were more open. That's why I voted for Torvalds
