OP, did you bother to check if the character designer of the new Lucky Charms graduated from Calarts?

If not, you might be retarded. It's obvious a corporate attempt to appeal to the Adventure Time crowd specifically, based on the commercials.

Has CalArts become the scapegoat for lazy poorly designed cartoon characters?

It's literally the same design as always.

No, just Geoff Johns.

Man, I have the back box art to this if y'all haven't seen it and it's got some pretty obvious rip-offs. Phone file is too big for Sup Forums, but I'll try an get it.

Is Calarts the equivalent to Sup Forums's "moeshit" buzzword?

who's getting the calarts treatment next? tony the tiger? toucan sam?

You know, the sad part of this is that it dates the commercial more than most other iterations. I'd even say it's comparable to the rap advertisements of the late 90's. It feels like it's there to grab the attention of the current year's group of kids. What they should be doing is making a timeless jingle, or sometthing that transcends eras. Mcdonalds did this flawlessly, and has indirectly contributed to more than 70% of childhood obesity.

Wouldn't Beanface Be a much better descriptor?
It's always Beanface and Noodle Arms.

moon = squidward
horseshoe = Mr. Cupcake
Star = spongebob + Patrick
Rainbow = MLP + PPG (and R&M lips)
Clover = ?
Heart = ?
Hourglass = ?
Red Balloon = ?

I wanna say I'm getting some Chowder vibes from some of the characters (minus the eye designs).

I tried

They already got the Trix rabbit.

The design was done by an Argentinean who went to the National University of Cuyo

Those guys are Kellogg's.

This weird art shift stuff seems to only be happening to General Mills.

CalArts just means "thing I don't like" now

Argentine? Didn't know about this guy.

I like what I'm seeing

CalArts style doesn't have to be from CalArts
