The Great X-Men Storytime Addendum - Alan Moore's Captain Britain (Part 2)

Awrite, let's wrap this up, chaps.

Part 1:

How are you doing tonight, lads and lasses?

...

I'm gonna go with "no".

I'm over in the Identity Crisis thread as always in complete disbelief that the story has fans and defenders

...

No accounting for taste!

Maybe Jaspers pulled a Melania and... I'm focusing on the wrong thing, aren't I?

>I use my reality-warping powers for things that truly matter!

This looks as bullshit as Star Trek chess.

...

It was a lot of people's intro to comics, and it's one of those things that you can't tell it's shit unless you know the characters. It's like DC's Civil War, except DC has mostly forgotten it.

>Star Trek chess.
I think there was an entire episoe of Deep Space 9 about bullshit space chess

There are parts of this run that remind me of Miracleman, like how the titular hero has a ragtag group of allies that will have to face a nearly unbeatable foe.

No way, man. No way he beat Spider-Man, that's too much. I mean, I can only suspend my disbelief so far, y'know?

God bless The New 52 for that one.

>in some awful parallel universe, DC is in the middle of Identity Crisis II

...

Oh noes!

Oh fuck.

...

...

...

>when the chess pieces turn against you

...

>I find it lacks substance
lol

Johns'd.

still giggling over Cap getting dr manhattaned

Hmm, didn't we see this before already?

You slept with that? OK, Cobweb, knock yourself out.

Great fucking pages btw

Best page tho

...

>BUT THEY NEVER REALLY DIE
...Yep, that about sums it up.

Did the Fury ever show up again after Moore?

...

>Fascination is no longer cute

Man rereading xmen again just makes me so fucking sad for the books released as of late. Is there hope anons?

Yeah, Claremont brought it back.

I told you this was Captain Britain Gets his Shit Pushed In.

They've been thrown into the dust bin before and rose even greater. Have hope

Never give up user! The night is always darkest before dawn! Or so they say.

Did he job horribly?

Sorry about that.

If you consider "jobbing" the fact that the ultimate superhero-killing machine gets destroyed by a superhero, then yes.

...

...

...

Told ya not to touch those shrooms, Cap'n.

...

Dammit Wolverine, you're fucking everwhere!

>pages that could no longer happen in current Marvel

By jobbing, I mean Prometheus being beaten to death by the Secret Six tier stupidity.

...

Reading American Flagg now and it's amazing how much stuff couldn't happen without mass Internet butthurt.

Stuff like "Fruit Boulevard" and a black supremacist calling someone a nigger.

Also, every women jumping on the MC's dick.

I miss the 1980's.

...

No, it's not quite that bad, but I still felt it was kinf of a cop-out and very pointless, but that's early 2000's Claremont for ya.

>things that never happened

I wonder what happened to Claremont to make him lose his touch at some point.

It's not just dated, it's a self parody.

>I miss the 1980's.
We all do, user, we all do.

Personally I think he both burned out and told every story he really wanted to tell during his first run. Everything else has been trying to bottle lightning twice.

...

did not expect a Goldwater reference

Cap'n's all like:
>The fuck are you doing in my comic, Wolverine?

...

>You should try talkin' to it
Brilliant.

That's a very un-Davis face on Betsy.

...

...

...

That's goddamn horrifying.

>Time to get my ass kicked, I mean, kick some ass!

...

...

>I'll keep them busy... for like one second

Time for shit to get cray-cray.

>Basically, you're out of continues. It's now or never, bitch.

...

I'm a sucker for this "back from the fall of grace" shit.

...

Awesome.

...

C'mon, is anyone seriously going to fall for this shit?

That's a pretty cool visual with the ripped page.

...

...

...

"If man won't kill God..."

...

...

...let's just blame the awful miscoloring here on Mad Jim Jaspers, shall we?

Now it's just playing with you, Brian.

...

Ohboyherewego

kek

...

...

Whelp.
