I loved seasons 1 & 2 and watched them multiple times. I was SO excited for season 3, and episode 1 definitely caught my attention. It had a lot of the same things but just as much new to go with it, an excellent revitalization of Twin Peaks.
However, I've just finished watching S3E8 and I'm about ready to stop watching altogether. Let's be honest, each episode has at least 10+ minutes of absolutely wasted screen time - don't even get me started on the sweeping scene. It's a great idea (imo) to use slow movement and frustrating characters to build suspense and add tension. But really, it has gone way out of control. I do not want to watch something that takes artistic liberty so far as to waste the viewer's time. With E8, there is over 15 minutes of SPECIAL EFFECTS. VERY LOW QUALITY, CHEAP SPECIAL EFFECTS. For 15 minutes of a ~50 minute episode.
I watched Lost and dealt with nothing being explained up until the very end, but having nothing explained + painfully slow episodes + entire scenes designed to waste your time + very little dialogue + very little character development ... is too much for me.
So, given how each episode goes out of it's way to waste your time to no end, the total lack of explanation about anything, and the seemingly random garbage thrown in in between; why do you still LOVE Twin Peaks? Why should I not give up on it?
